I will say that my ex loved being my hero. When it was exhausted and struggling. It made him feel more like a man to be needed. And he was very much needed.

I lost a HVM who was well out of my league due to my anxiety and I can't forgive myself. I still love him but he's with a soft sweet much younger woman now and I can't get him back. I drove him away with my anxiety. I am a single.mothet who works full time and has a stressful job and I put all this stress onto him and he couldn't take it.

I made a mess of my life and lost a wonderful man. He is tradcon. I wasn't. I tried the other way and it failed. He's gone forever and my heart is broken. Mserably. I now don't see much hope for the future but I am going to at least try and learn from what I did wrong. I am finding my way with God. I am learning. I am reflecting and I am praying that He will redeem even me and my mess.

I agree with the hand sewing. I find sewing machines fiddly and difficult to use but hand sewing is relaxing.

Yes I know this. We have even talked about it. We are both aware of the situation. It's not an issue. It's more the residual pain that bothers me. I'm not really interested in finding anyone.

Thankyou so much. No I'm not moving on. My ex is very bitter and to be honest I'm still scared of him and take his cruel words to heart.

Yes of course and my ex husband is a redpill activist who will tell everyone I was the worst woman on earth. He won't mention that I was miserable. That he did nothing with the children. That he was jealous of the attention I gave them. That he hit me multiple times. I had to leave for their well-being. I'm not typing out my whole story here. I blame myself constantly everything and think I am a bad person and a failure. My friend is in his thirties and as I reiterate I am not involved with him.…

I would love to have found real lasting love and have a comfortable life and be able to give my children the things I see other families give theirs. I feel sad I never found love. These are the things I failed at.

I was never aiming for anyone. I married average men in my league. It didn't work out for reasons explained. I am not stunning beautiful and never attempted to get or attract high value men. All my energy and attention are directed at my children to the exclusion of pretty much everything else There is a sadness that never goes away and that I keep to myself and it just helped to vent it here. I'm not looking for anyone. I am not romantically involved with my friend and never will be but I am fo…

I don't think it's fair to say that I was the problem. With my first husband I would not have had children if I had stayed and my second husband did and still does have a lot going on. He was not a good husband and even he admits that. I don't know if I want a suitable/in my league partner. To be honest I don't think I do as I feel no interest in looking at suitable men of getting to know anyone. I think my sadness is more regret and self loathing for not having the life every woman wishes to ha…

I think it would more due to lack of focus, anger issues (he fell out with people a lot), issues with dealing with other people. I beleive him to be undiagnosed BPD. He also lacked drive and was a bit lazy to be honest. He had and still has no real.ambition. He lost two jobs in the years we were together. And others never panned out. I had to push him into a career change which actually worked out well for him but he won't progress any further than he is currently. He's an intelligent man but ne…

In so sorry to hear this. I did the same with watching their relationship her on social media. It was very heartbreaking.

I certainly wasn't trying to be cruel and I did a lot of give and take and tried very hard in my relationships. I tried to love them very much.

As I said I'm not sure I want to find anyone. It may be more a sadness that I never did and a wish to come to terms with my failures. Regarding dating and attraction, I think the problem I have is that I'm not exceptionally attractive myself and I tended to attract below average men. And I struggled to find them attractive for whatever reason. It seems to be a catch 22 situation . I don't really know how other women manage it. It's possibly why I wouldn't really consider dating again as I imagin…

Yes you are right I am very down and negative. It helped to get it all out as I keep all this inside and don't tell anyone and just focus on the children and my job. I really hate myself for failing so much.

Yes I did. I know I'm not a beauty. I attracted men on my level I didn't really love them passionately and I don't know why. But perhaps if my first husband had been willing to have children or things hadn't gone so badly with my second it would have been different. I tried to love them and give and take I really did. And I just feel like I don't have the motivation to do it again.

Yes there is a big age gap. He's early 30s that's why I said we can't ever be together. But he is a good friend. I don't think I really want a relationship with anyone more suitable as I don't have any real attraction to anyone or any motivation. But maybe I'm just very depressed. I saw how much he gave to her and how incredibly romantic he was. It was all over her social media of course and it was hard to see. I've known him for years and years and he has always been there for me. As I said bel…

He's at a stage in his life where he is looking to get married and have children. Quite younger. We click very much as people and had we been the same age I imagine we might have been blissfully happy and yes I am stupidly in love with him (it's hard not to be) but it's not something that can ever happen. He wishes he could find someone like me but younger. He will I'm sure. He is a good man. And a good friend and he sees the good in me when I can't see it and I am very grateful for that. It's o…

Yes I know this. Like I said I am not sure I want a relationship with a nice suitable man or whether I just want to come to terms with the fact that I never had a happy romantic relationship. The fact that I don't really feel attracted or motivated to meet suitable men suggests I don't and perhaps the sadness is more about what I never had and I need to come to terms with that and with being single and happy and productive and loving myself as a happy single productive woman who sadly struck out…

And this is the thing. I'm not sure I actually want a relationship with a nice 50-60 man or whether I just want to stop mourning the fact that I never had a happy romantic relationship if that makes sense? I don't actually know. I would suggest that I don't and I just want to get over the sadness but I don't actually know ...

Yes you might be right. I think perhaps I'm just too broken down and sad about it all and bitter and such and I hate to be this way I think if you are happy and positive and want to be with someone you can talk yourself into fancying someone who's not that attractive or taking an interest in something which doesn't interest you, as you say it's give and take. But I think I'm just very sad and low. And I wonder if it's worth it? Twice I married someone I didn't find all that attractive or shared …

I left him aged 32 and went on to have two children with my second husband who was a few years younger than me. They are now 11 and 15. I lost contact with my first husband but I saw a Facebook profile a few years ago of him with a child so I assume he met someone else and had a child with them. If I had stayed with him I wouldn't have my son and daughter now ETA: sorry I misread your question. I thought you asked if I ever had children with him. No I didn't. I had my children with my second hus…

Yes I love this post. Thankyou so much. It's hard to let go of the dreams I had and to see the love and happiness that I will never have and it's just trying to make peace with it. It helps to hear this.

Sorry I know it sounds horrible to say that I don't find most of the suitable men attractive. I don't know what it is. Maybe I'm just too depressed and sad about everything. I don't think they find me attractive either though.

Thankyou. Yes I know I can't pine after my friend. He has always said that if things were different and he could have met the younger me he would have married me and it breaks my heart that it happened like this. We are very close but it hurts for him to be looking for younger women to give him babies. I find it hard to bear and I can't really talk to him when he is dating and pursuing them. To be honest most of the handsome 50-60 men are looking for younger women in their 30-40s or so and if I …

It's hard to say. Being more organised perhaps? Spending less time being a dreamy bohemian artist and focussing on money and building savings? Choosing better men? I was never stunningly beautiful or charismatic or inspiring enough to attract the high value ones even when I was very young. I lacked confidence. And that makes it difficult. Choosing implies that you have a choice and I never had lots of high value men wanting to marry me. Also this was the nineties And early 2000s and to be honest…

Thankyou. I feel very alone I think and very sad and I hate what I have become. I was so filled with hope as a young woman. I lost my mother this year too. She was my only family and she is buried with my stillborn daughter who would have been 8. I do have a wonderful albeit platonic relationship with a wonderful man who sadly is younger and would have been out of my league when when I was in my twenties to be honest. He's very handsome, religious and intelligent and educated but obviously could…

Thankyou so much. I must add that I am lucky enough to have a wonderful handsome educated intelligent man who loves me - but as a friend. Hes younger than me. I'm stupidly in love with him and probably always will be but he obviously could never reciprocate romantically but we have a strong bond and he sees the good in me which I don't see in myself. It hurts to see him with others. He has just ended a relationship with a beautiful, devoutly catholic 22 year old. It hurt so much. But he is there…
