No. It was a sincerely held belief that appeared over night. I had feminists justifying it to me "I've met bears in the woods and they just walk by, I'd much rather that than a man who would enjoy torturing me". Don't pretend it was just a rhetorical tool. They believed it.

I totally agree. I'm speaking from my own experience, which is of course not universal. But I certainly learned that it was "good" for me as a man to hate myself during the years where I was a feminist.
