Yeah, I have no idea what I'm supposed to be improving since these fellas lack the integrity/decency to, at the very least, be honest. Good to know. I think I'll work on being more selective.

I'd take that sweeping generalization with a grain of salt. I've casually dated a few people over the course of this year, ranging from all walks of life. One in particular was very timid with women, but I found it endearing. I suspect that he didn't get much attention from women, or if he did, he didn't know how to receive it. I think he took a liking to me more than he expected to, and perhaps that was overwhelming for him. Timing was also a factor, since it was likely he didn't have his shit …

No. I'm thinking about commitmentphobes. I've had too much experience with them on multiple occasions this year. The interest was mutual, but for one reason another, it didn't work out. One of them at least had the decency to be up front, and two others faded on me while otherwise leaving me to believe that they were interested. Perhaps a shitty streak of luck, but it kind of feels like it's becoming the new norm. Edited to add; I didn't pressure a relationship. It's actually uncommon that I am …

Oh ok. Sounds pretty reasonable then.

You should set your ego aside, and not take this personally. Perhaps, she was even doing you a favor. It sounds like she is self-aware enough to know that she is not in a good place to be with you, or possibly anyone else in a STABLE relationship. Trust me, this a good thing and will spare you a lot of grief. She probably did genuinely like you, but the timing wasn't right. Timing is a pretty important factor.

I'm just curious, is this advice ideal when the oneitis is one-sided, or when stronger feelings start to develop to the point that a relationship is potentially considered? It seems like the possibility of a relationship is viewed like a fucking prison sentence, and it really shouldn't be that way. If this mentality is becoming the norm, I would likely just stop dating American men.

A shit test can also be a test of establishing boundaries, and character to see how secure a person is with themselves/what they can get away with. Guys are just as guilty of doing this as girls are. For instance, guys will say shit to see how thick-skinned a girl is, and test her reaction. Girls will do it to see how far the envelope can be pushed. Nothing new here.

Haha, hopefully not literally. Yeah, if you are both looking at each other, might as well say hi at the very least. If she's a bitch, good riddance. If she's cool, then she'll put in an effort in the conversation. Even if it's only saying hi to strangers, it's a good start to confronting your AA. It gets the ball rolling. The other option is to do nothing at all, which accomplishes nothing at all.

You can glance away, but look back and see if she is still looking. If she is, you're good and that's when you hold the gaze. It's intense, but exhilarating.

Good for you! That was very nicely done. Fellas, as a female that frequently makes eye contact with strangers, especially people I find attractive. Stop averting your damn eyes!!! Prolonged/repeated eye contact is a pretty strong indicator of interest. It's pretty discouraging when guys would rather look at their phones instead of the pretty girl. Stop that shit, please. In addition, I won't approach you, if you can't face me. And no, I am not bad to look at.

Most men are too afraid to approach women they find attractive, so when one finally does, and he isn't a sleazy player type, it is kind of surprising. Definitely in a good way though. Nicely done with the cold approach!

Yeah, this all pretty solid advice. As a female, I think I have to agree with all the points that were brought up.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
