Yes. That is gender. Gender was never some internal sense of whether someone is a man or a woman. Like many other things, they have redefined it. And you can't just dismiss it. That behavior and thinking has taken over most LGB spaces and organizations, and is rampant. It is effecting especially young homosexuals very badly, and utterly annihilating lesbian spaces. As a survivor of abuse (female) who now works with other survivors, I would say that true in some ways untrue in others. Men and women have different societal reactions when suffering abuse. Neither is optimal. Aside from the minority of "believe all women" people, actual society at large treats women as if it is their fault, and treats men like men can't really be abused.

I have a compromised immune system. I would likely die if I catch this, as a simple cold had me in icu with pneumonia three times in that past five years. As a rape survivor, and a woman, I see how women who go through is are treated. But I also see that on the other side. Shelters, rape advocates, and a ton of other sources for help. While society as a whole fails to even recognize that boys and men are raped and brutalized as well. It really sickens me, as a female survivor of sexual violence, the way that female victims are treated. I try point out how terms like toxic masculinity must be harmful for young boys and men, and the suicides rates if men, and educational performance and drug addiction rates are all showing the men are having a hard time. But when I point out that making men suffer is not equality, and that their progressive ideals are actually regressive, and seek to shift the power not balance it, I'm told I have internalized misogyny.
