Thank you for taking the time to try to bring someone back to reality❤️

There’s plenty of sites for hetero dating too though. I’m sure there are sites but I doubt that makes it any easier!

The orgasm gap exists in both hookups and long term heterosexual relationships. On average, women orgasm in roughly every 1/10 hookups, and about 65% of the time in long term relationships. These stats vary depending on the study you read though. There is no orgasm gap in solo sex or lesbian relationships. It’s believed the orgasm gap is due to a mix of lack of education, lack of communication, and a lack of care for women’s pleasure whether it be the man not valuing women’s orgasms or the woman…

Idk that it can be considered a double standard as male rapist can also gain child support or custody over their kids. Definitely an issue with the system that needs to be fixed though!

Isn’t that kinda the same thing with the romantic novels you’re talking about though? If someone actually did the stuff that happened in 50 shades of grey, You, 365 days, or a court of thorns and roses they would probably go to jail or at least be considered an abuser. Both the romcoms and romantic novels are just fantasy that isn’t realistic to real life.

To be fair, that does sum up a decent amount of romcoms. Knocked up, 50 first dates, Wanderlust, etc. Average dude + bombshell woman is like a romcom staple.

I definitely have to take a look into those. Being honest I’ve done some research into the prevalence of homosexuality in other species but I never really looked into the “why” studies/theories. I read a lot more of Patricia Brennan’s theories on “genital warfare” and studies regarding human sexual pleasure/ behavior. I think it’s easy to get offended by biology because we tend to take biology as innate and unchangeable because we see science as a whole, as innate and unchangeable. But biology i…

Oml I totally misread your comment! Yeah that’s why I was so confused, I get what you’re saying now after rereading in that context. I think that while the biological realities do have some influence on male and female sexual behavior (on average ofc), these differences are made out to be much larger than they actually are, and lack nuance a lot of times. I think with methods of birth control/ abortion, especially with modern birth control, the difference is even less pronounced but ofc we canno…

That’s why I was confused why you replied to my comment as if I was wrong. That was what my initial comment was. You should reread this thread. My position this whole time has always been, and only been, that women like sex, men do not always want sex. Edit: I mean your first reply to me was literally “not true at all” to a comment simply just saying women like sex and men don’t always want sex. No shit I’m gonna think you’re arguing against that! And as you said, that’s pretty damn obvious so o…

Nothing will change my mind that women like sex and men don’t always want sex. It’s illogical to think women do not like sex. It is illogical to think men always want sex. Statistics support this. My experienced support this.

Again, take some accountability dude. You know It’s gonna leak back out of her and then she has to clean up the mess right?

The laws need changing AND you should use a condom. Two things can be true at once. Luckily there’s lots of new and promising long term male contraceptives in clinical trials right now like Adam/ Plan A that will give men more options than condoms, spermicides, and vasectomies.
/r/MensRights16/05/24 05:08 PM

Again, I agree that those laws need to change, but that does not negate you of accountability. 2 methods is always better than one. Contraception is both peoples responsibility. You can only control you. You decided to not wear a condom nor pull out. Pulling out is directly correlated to pregnancy. You made that choice. We can push for better laws while taking accountability.

Oral sex isn’t limited to sexual partners per-say in the wild. Both bonobos and hyenas use it as a greeting or to assert dominance. I’m sure other species do as well. I don’t think most people are unconsciously trying to get pregnant when they forget their birth control. I think people are busy, and prone to human error. That actually is something that comes up with potential daily methods for men, that they may forget. We all forget things. At the end of the day my statement that the “women don…

I believe people should have the ability to sign over parental rights and payment. But pregnancy occurring while on the birth control pill is not uncommon. I can support your belief in “paper abortions” while also saying you need to take more accountability for your actions You should be able to sign over your rights and therefore forfeit payment. You also should take accountability that you should have worn a condom and/or pulled out. Contraception is both partner’s responsibility and it’s clea…

I have a bio degree and I’m studying female sexual pleasure. Other female mammals like bonobos (one of our closest relatives) are commonly seen stimulating eachother clitorises. Sure what you’re saying makes sense, but sex still feels good for women and it’s clear many enjoy it. You can be picky and still have a lot of sex. With what you’re saying, women would be having a ton of sex in relationships, cause they picked someone they want to impregnate them. But with how important and common birth …

With typical use, the birth control pill is around 90% effective. 10/100 women will get pregnant while on the pill in a given year. In a world of over 4 billion women, that’s a lot of pregnancies.
/r/MensRights16/05/24 04:43 PM

Actually 1/16 women experience pregnancy coercion. It seems like around 1/10 men experience pregnancy coercion. So it’s more than 1% of situations. But I do think that whether the “victim” had the option to use another method and chose not to should play a part. Male condoms are easily accessible and free at certain locations. It’s always safer to use a condom and /or pull out even if your partner is on another form of birth control.
/r/MensRights16/05/24 04:40 PM

I agree with this. You did consent to jizzing in her though and that is directly what causes pregnancy. I would say the same exact thing if a women allowed a man to jizz in her. I do not believe consent to sex is consent to children/pregnancy but finishing inside is directly correlated to that. However, I do agree the ability to sign away payment (if and only if you are signing away all rights to the child) should be legal.

I think the whole “men are bad in bed” thing comes from the statistically prevalent orgasm gap in heterosexual relationships. But I agree that in a sexual relationship everyone should be striving to please their partner within their comfortability.
/r/MensRights16/05/24 04:24 PM

Yeah this seems like the harmful, but pervasive “women don’t like sex, men always want sex” narrative. I think it’s silly to generalize women as not liking sex when women complain about the orgasm gap. But as you said, it’s always acceptable to leave a relationship!

Expecting a partner to have sex is putting action onto them and therefore is not a boundary. Leaving because of a lack of sex is doing the action yourself and setting a boundary. To me, that’s why it’s not contradictory. One is expecting the other person to change, the other is doing what you need to do to be happy.

It’s so hard because I don’t want to advocate for women to risk their safety as sometimes it does come down to that. But I also don’t really know what men can do compliment wise to fix it. I think the best starting point is fighting this idea that men always want sex with everyone. So many issues men (and through the actions of some men, women) face are because of this narrative. It wouldn’t fix everything, but to me that is the best way to start addressing the problem.

Maybe harassment/sexism in the workplace? I’m sure that’s not the reason for every apprentice you’ve seen, but that does seem to be a common reason for women withdrawing certain fields. I’m in STEM and from the research I’ve seen, sexism in the workplace is a big reason women leave the field. The other big reason tends to be childcare falling on women. My partner is a plumber and he’s seen women get singled out for their gender at construction sites. My mother is a business owner and visits job …

If you forget about all the work women typically do to provide childcare and maintain the home then sure. But being realistic, there is vital work that both men and women do to uphold society. If you don’t have people to work, society will collapse, if you don’t have people to do childcare/homecare, society will collapse. Women could figure out how to do male dominated tasks. Men could figure out how to do female dominated tasks. But neither would be able to do it quickly without massive chaos a…

I agree that most of the time that is narcissistic, but it also could just be she was told all her life “all men only want one thing” or “men will sleep with anyone”. I see those statements a lot from people of all sorts of backgrounds/beliefs. I see that narrative most commonly in discussions around “body count” double standards, and harassment as noted here. We can’t be surprised women assume men are gay when they turn down sex, if women are told all men always want sex with every woman. I try…

I agree with this but I also understand why some women have gotten to that point. I always just took compliments at face value. I used to compliment men too. But after one too many times of being accused of “leading” men on for accepting or giving a compliment, it definitely made me question compliments more. I’m sure a lot of that is because those men had never received compliments before and so they assumed I had to be flirting with them. It’s an icky cycle that will be tough to break. There w…

I’d imagine that only pushing cases like the one shown in this post helps people double down on the sick idea that all men and boys always want sex and it’s the best thing to ever happen to them. It’s the same way that only showing cases of older and unattractive male pedophiles pushes the other gross idea that women and girls don’t enjoy sex and only do it out of force or to get something. I hope we get to a world one day where people can just be people who enjoy sex when they consensually plea…

I think it’s important to point out FGM is typically not just the removal of the clitoral hood. The removal of the clitoral hood is completely comparable to circumcision, other than the fact circumcision is common place while removal of the clitoral hood is not (in the US). FGM also compromises the removal of the clitoris as a whole, and the labia (mostly the labia minora). This would be comparable to removal of the penis and testicular sacs anatomically speaking. FGM can mean solely female circ…

I’m saying it’s not exactly a double standard if the standards aren’t the same in the first place. Majority of women do not have that conditional approach, hence why there is an orgasm GAP. Men also receive head much more than women despite the fact most women can not finish from PIV. Some women require emotional connection, others do not. Same with men. As I said, the issue with some men is they don’t put in effort, for others it’s that they don’t know. By doing what that girl did it is sucky f…

Homie there is a statistically evident orgasm gap. Sure you can say it’s a double standard, but that ignores all nuance of the situation. Men consistently do this and are forgiven quite frequently. Female orgasms are deemed as “hard” to achieve or “variable” compared to “easy and predictable” male orgasms despite research showing both men and women finish 95% of the time and in an average of 8 minutes when going solo. I mean women orgasm in every 1/10 hookups compared to 65% of the time in long …

I don’t think allowing men to rape women would help the orgasm gap considering victims who come out of abusive relationships typically aren’t saying “wow I came so much though!”. Actually it typically gives them a worse idea of sex and therefore more difficulty orgasming. I think changing our view on sex to be about both people rather than making sex into something men want would be more efficient and safer. I’m also sure women would be more willing to sleep with men if they knew there was somet…

I do agree there is a lot of nuance to this topic but that’s all the more reason not to blame men or women as a whole. From all research I have seen, shame is never a positive in the sex world. Comprehensive sex ed always has better rates for teen pregnancy, abortion, and attitudes of sex than non-comprehensive or no sex ed at all. Shame in sex is a large part of the orgasm gap. When we shame people around sex we can’t wonder why they don’t enjoy it. I have also never seen any reputable study sh…

I thought my third and fourth paragraphs show the pressures pretty clearly but I’m happy to further explain. Despite the “sexual revolution” there is still a lot of shame surrounding sex especially for women. There’s still lots of women who believe sex is for men and men’s pleasure bc that’s how sex ed and porn typically depict it (and this isn’t even including purity culture and religion). So there is a pressure on women to please men and focus on men rather than themsevles. At the same time th…

Well sure there’s lots of women who do feel comfortable using sex toys. Are they and/or their male partner comfortable bringing those sex toys into the bedroom? Sex toys work for a lot of women bc they tend to focus on clitoral pleasure, but lots of people feel they’re more an enemy than a friend. When sex toys are still seen as emasculating you can get the picture of why this all happens. There’s lots of problems from both men and women that contribute this but imo all those problems stem from …

You have to understand women go through lots of relationships of guys not caring and some get to the point they assume none do! Atp it’s not really surprising they wanna get some in return before giving as unfair as it is to project that onto you.

That is part of the reason why these women don’t know what they want… they think sex is for men so they don’t even know they can be doing things to make it more enjoyable for them! This comment right here hits the nail on the head why half this is even a problem in the first place. It’s not men’s fault, but not necessarily women’s either. It’s the society we live in.
/r/MensRights20/03/24 04:30 PM

It’s sad these men have been blamed for this but I don’t think it’s women’s fault per-say either. As you said, people don’t realize how important the clitoris is in women’s orgasms. We can’t be surprised neither men nor women know how to get women off when our society centers around PIV (that most women will not O from) and doesn’t normalize women masterbuating as much as men. It really is a society problem imo and blaming men or women doesn’t really help anything!

If the relationship really is just one sided, leave. Even if women more commonly experience your situation it’s not any better for you as a man. Find someone who deserves how much you care. I guarantee there is a girl out their waiting for a munch to match her giving energy!

Yeah it’s not communication as much as our society still having an aversion to women’s sexuality and pleasure. Women are shamed out of masterbuating (or unaware they can even do it and think only men can) and then they’re confused why they don’t squirt from 3 strokes like in porn when most women can’t even finish from PIV anyway. I know a fair share of women who can’t finish with their partner but they also don’t masterbuate so they’re not surprised and don’t complain either (unlike OPs situatio…

To be fair all of what you’re saying ignores the fact that our society centers sex around ways that already get men off but not women. Men don’t really have to “worry” about their own orgasms bc it’s almost a given that it will happen. Most women can not finish from PIV simply bc of anatomy so no shit women aren’t gonna magically finish if we are focusing only on PIV. There’s lots of factors at play and we can’t really put the blame on women OR men bc it’s a societal issue. It’s an issue in puri…

I think a better way to correct it would be to change how our society looks at sex. It’s no individual man or women’s fault, but our society focuses on PIV and men’s orgasms. A man’s orgasm tends to mark the end of the sexual encounter. We can be shocked women are “hard to get off” when our society focuses on things that won’t get women off. If clitoral stimulation before or during PIV we’re more common place the orgasm gap would severely shrink. Women can get off equally as easily as men during…

That “left over penile tissue” has more nerve endings in it than a penis does. It’s also much more than that little part you see outside. The external portion is only 10% of the whole organ. Women can finish just as easily solo as men can, the problem isn’t the anatomy, it’s the culture we’re raised in. The way our society focuses on PIV not only harms women’s sexual pleasure but men’s too! When we focus on PIV (which majority of women can’t finish from) it’s no surprise women feel shamed for no…

There has actually been no proof that vibrators cause desensitization and difficultly to orgasm. If you can’t get your partner off but they can finish from vibrators maybe try using the vibrator on them. Toys are our friends not our enemies!
