Did it feel like your S.O. "flipped a switch"?When I first read this I thought you meant she was having an emotional affair with an 11 year old! I see what you mean now. Curious, How/what did the kids notice? | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/07/24 01:29 PM
Dealing with the shame…I think everyone feels this on some level. As far as telling other people I just…didn’t. If they asked I’d tell them or if it came up organically fine but I didn’t feel the need to make some big announcement. Probably helps that I loath non-anonymous social media and have almost no presence on it. As far as others caring, I’ll echo what others said, maybe they’ll speculate for a minute or two when they first here then it’s back to their own lives, problems, concerns, goals, families etc. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/05/24 12:18 PM
Stbxw writing dumb shit via co-parenting appCan I ask why you hired a PI? That seems like such an enormous cost just to confirm what you already knew…that she’s fucking someone else. To be fair I have no idea what a PI actually costs but I imagine it’s not cheap. | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/02/24 02:35 AM
How you guys fucked up in your marriages?Got married kinda young and was pretty much not in love with her within a few years but figured I’d stick it out. That led to me being unhappy and not the best partner. Plus I admit my biggest flaw is I’m not the best with money which added stress. So now I really took the time to figure what I wanted in a partner, found an amazing one and I keep finances separate and it feels like I found some sort of cheat code to being happy ha. After being unhappy so long I almost feel…guilty being happy (bu… | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/02/24 01:34 PM
Feeling LowI agree with your sentiment but I still think he should think about what could happen in the future. I guarantee you she’s being calculating and strategic, he should do the same. But you are dead on about how it can change on a dime. My ex went from trying to say I couldn’t see my kids unsupervised, to her giddily giving me 70ish % custody as long as she got the money she wanted. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/01/24 01:10 PM
Feeling LowI had to go 23 days when she bailed without seeing my girls due to a temporary protective order she bullshitted on me. I don’t have the best memory but I distinctly remember that hell and it’s been 5 years. That said, it did pass, and I took those 23 days to really consider how I wanted to handle the situation. It paid off for me when it comes to custody big time. It’s ok to feel the things you are, but also try your best to be reflective and decide what’s most important for you moving forward. … | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/01/24 01:06 PM
Sexual FrustrationI also got out there immediately. Found plenty of opportunities with people I knew and newly met. That said, you sure those women weren’t just DTF and had previously found you attractive? You really had a stable of women who were living their lives with the main purpose of waiting for your magic dick? | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/01/24 12:56 PM
Constant custody violationsDo you think she’s doing this because she’s: spiteful? Hateful? Oblivious? Not sure where you’re located but refusing to give a kid during custody time has ramifications. what did your lawyer say? You said what their thoughts on asking for more custody is but what about her violating court ordered custody? | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/01/24 12:37 PM
DoctorsYeah I sorta have this. My ex took my youngest to urgent care for a scraped knee the other day…. And I’m not totally one of those “rub some dirt on it” kinda guys but I’m pretty sure my knees were scraped more often than not when I was a kid. 🙄 She gets it from her mom who was a nurse at a speciality practice but loves to pretend she’s a doctor. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/05/23 12:24 PM
Divorces initiated by women vs by menThat’s an interesting stat (I didn’t validate it just rolling with it for the discussion). Whenever family courts favoring women in other subs come up there’s always a eager group of women who have stats ready to show how it’s totally fair and the only reason the numbers are skewed is because so many men are deadbeats/abusers/criminals. 3% of total alimony though is a pretty hard number to explain away because “men bad” | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/04/23 05:51 PM
Spousal Support DisgustYeah I had the SAHM situation (even though I pleaded with her to work for years), and it really fucked me on the spousal support calculation. I make less than half of OP and I still have been paying out nearly 3K a month for the last four years. But it’s officially over next month - if only I could afford the lawyer to have it modified :/ | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/04/23 02:54 AM
I give upWhat is her custody position? If you’re going to give up on the legal fight are you going to at least have partial custody? I also gave up on the legal fight but I did it because I knew my ex couldn’t handle full custody, and I was right. I have my kids like 60% of the time now and could have more if I wanted (but it’s important to me that their mom is involved too). Granted this was very specific to my ex, I knew how to play the long game with her, but she’s kinda…well dumb (think stereotypical… | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/04/23 02:45 AM
