Imo, the Barbie world was a caricature of a matriarchal state. The kens held no power and their purpose was to appeal for the attention of the Barbies. At no point was anyone actually that unhappy. There are small conversations you can have to open up the minds of people who say misandry doesn't exist. For example, a lot of women react negatively when they are told to smile. The actual harm created by this is minimal, but the experience over time can be significant to the individuals experience. This is similar to a lot of the misandry that men experience on a daily basis. Conversations like this can be the entry point to a more productive conversation.

Absolutely. When people started asking my sons about crushes, I started talking about amatonormativity. When they asked if the boys had crushes, and the boys said no, I would tell the person that continued to ask that they already had an answer, and to allow them to grow on their own pace. It seems silly to frame this in a gendered way. When you learn about the industry, it is extremely cruel. Why does veal exist? What is a steer? What is a bull? They are correct that too much of masculinity is tied up to eating animals though. Our diets as a whole have a lot of protein. It isn't a limiting factor.

Yes, this is absolutely outdated thought that sex is only penetration. The significance of rape is usually in the legal sense. There are usually specific lines that refer to penetration. A lot of the laws don't actually say rape though, they say first degree sexual assault.

Overall, people don't understand what danger is like. We simply don't live in a society where it happens very often. That said, putting yourself into danger isn't helpful, so it's worthwhile advice to just gtfo if you're feeling anything. People see things they aren't used to and think they are in danger. They see a homeless person and imagine the worst. They don't realize that parking structures are dangerous, often at schools.

I mean, you don't, but I interact with those kinds of people all the time. It is something you practice, like being vegan. There are vegan people I know that eat meat or consume animal products from time to time, just to make social interactions easier. If you get them a coffee and it has milk, they won't throw it away.
