I like and prefer my man clean shaven.

As long as he's a manly/studly financial loser, he will always be 'fuck and chuck' material for young women. That they are not sticking around for the long term relationship he is desperate for, is telling.

Misery loves company! The signal-to-noise ratio on this forum is way off. This toxic bunch actually get together and have to pay up to do that?

You should date 20 something women, they still have some years before their knees give out. Meanwhile, they will be wasting their peak taking care of your geriatric needs, though. What's a guy to do?

Which is a large part of the narrative.

The problem with this forum is that so much of the debate is sex and attractiveness oriented (limiting) plus a lack of intelligent dialogue all around. Whether you are a man or a woman, we are first and foremost, individuals. For much of human history, women have followed a certain narrative which has only started changing in right earnest since, roughly, a 100 years ago. People and society, as a whole, have been slow and resistant to embrace this seismic shift. Men are not willing to yield grou…

Were they immaculate conceptions in a broader sense of the term?

Odd choice for a netflix date, though.

I understood your tongue-in-cheek comment. But, I am simply addressing the point that it is not the singular expectation of sex that should drive how one presents themselves in any social situation. His behavior and reaction is quite baffling.

Really? Whatever happened to plain old manners? Heck, just show up with a smile and some flowers! Why treat everything as a transactional analysis?

Some people have no manners.

Very odd. Something does not add up. Why prepare such an elaborate dish for a 'netflix and chill' date? Order in some pizza, maybe? Especially for someone who is such a unclassy man? I would terminate the date.

That varies by culture. American men are a confused lot, their signal reception is, shall we say, 'scrambled'?

I am the same age as your mom's roommate, my 'style' is still the same as when I was younger. I never approach a man, but I will give him subtle clues. The ones who get it, usually reciprocate.

If you have even a basic idea of how attraction works, you would know MUCH before he ever articulated such a thought. It's game over.

The swipe culture is pretty pervasive, it contributes to a unhealthy view of how relationships are formed. A tenuous hold on the reality of emotions. Male or female.

You have it right. Not all women, but most women. It is made worse with the advent of a casual swipe culture, many men also do it these days. Male equivalent is "wham-bam-no-thank-you-bitch'. The main problem is both sexes are so dull and ignorant of the art of courtship and a complete lack of understanding of the mating game. Especially American men. So they resort to pills and dodgy labeling.

As a 102 lbs, 5'2" petite woman who prefers skirts and dresses to jeans and being of a whimsical, intuitive and impulsive nature, I have no problem letting a man open the door for me or pull out a chair. Some men find this to be an attractive demeanor and some find it exasperating.
