My thoughts exactly

I think something might be wrong with me. I went through an absolutely brutal, heartbreaking divorce with infidelity, traumatized small children, etc... And I still haven't cried. I've tried to and the tears just don't come... I'm just expressionless most of the time.

Somewhere to vent, get advice, be reassured... All of it is valuable and I think I would use it personally. Especially in the early months of separation when it felt impossible to go on. Maybe some guys would feel uncomfortable being vulnerable with another human but I wouldn't. I'm much more worried about emotionally fatiguing the people in my life to the point that I try not to talk about it as much anymore even when I feel like I need to. I have a therapist, and have joined a men's group for …

Isn't it funny how we all have the same ex wife?

Yeah she's keeping you as a safe back up option while she goes and "finds herself" I'm assuming. My ex wanted that too. Asked for a "trial separation" so she could continue to fuck her ex boyfriend who she'd been cheating on me with. And you know what? A pathetic part of me wanted her to just get over it and decide it wasn't worth it and come back. The pain of losing my family (kids were only 2 and 4 at the time) had me thinking crazy about what I would tolerate in a relationship. Now I see so c…

Totally understand the feeling man. It's terrible. You feel like you're losing a loved one because you are. I can't sugarcoat how much it sucks and is going to suck for awhile. But you know what? It won't always feel like it does today. I'm 8 months post separation and I'm still sad and I'm still adjusting, but my heart doesn't race when I get a co-parenting text anymore. I can eat without having to remind myself because I have an appetite again. The suicidal ideation has toned down quite a bit.…

This was my immediate thought. Women in sexless marriages are not asexual. They're just done fucking their husband. If she truly also went 10 years without sex then she is a very broken and strange woman. She is also a terrible wife who ignores the needs of her husband simply because she doesn't share the same needs. You shouldn't have cheated, but I do understand that needs are needs. The correct order of operations would have been addressing the sexless marriage, giving an ultimatum, then divo…

God this is so true. My wife was so much more "mature" than me in many ways in our 20s. It seemed like she had it all together. All of a sudden in our mid/late 30s going through divorce she is exhibiting behavior that reminds me of a highschool girl. It's unbelievable.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
