Fuck em. Don't say anything that doesn't have anything to do with your work. Be more open and communicative with your superiors and be VERY GOOD at your job.

Say less. Don't give them an opportunity to put you in your place. Are these your superiors or are they same rank?

Work hard and focus on doing well at basic, then whatever school you're going to after that. Not sure if you're looking to make a career in the military or just do a couple tours. If it's the latter, wouldn't even focus on girls until you're out and have something else going on. Dudes get trapped in the military when you add in marriage, divorce, child support, and mandatory alimony. Don't put yourself in a position where you don't have options. Best of luck to you and stay safe. Edit: just want…

Yes. Bantu culture is not going to get you anywhere. It sounds like she took a day off to spend with an orbiter.

When you say you "leave for active duty" in a month, what exactly do you mean? Going to basic? Just looking for context here. As far as this girl is concerned, don't even say another word to her until you're back from wherever you're going. All these other posters are right too... Self respect and all that.

Most of the times, the hookup culture and partying at state schools is centered around Greek Life. In order for you to be in a respectable fraternity, you have to be willing to pay thousands a semester at most schools. Most houses that are respectable will check to see your parents' salary and what kind of a background you came from before they consider giving you a bid. President of my top tier house a decade ago and current advisor to same chapter at a Big 12 flagship state school. Can confirm…
