I took the time to read this and I think that effort was worthwhile but I think something needs to be made clear: your revelations about the things you used to enjoy aren't some hidden facts, they're the symptoms of moderate to severe depression. Especially the parts where pleasurable sensations are diminished or eliminated. You may never reach the ideals you once dreamed of but if you continue to work on yourself and overcome your current situation you can surpass your expectations for the futu…

I'd believe it. Quite a few women making a living in that trade have below average looks and skills to match. A masturbation aid shaped like an attractive woman would likely win out every time especially with automation and voice lines

It's less of an exaggeration than you might think. If married or even in a defacto relationship in some places you can find yourself on the hook for almost everything you've built up if things go south in the relationship

The synopsis says that women are victimised by their own preferences for the ideal reproductive partner, that every man who donates sperm and doesn't fit the masculine ideal is left out and that the children conceived through the process are somehow victims too. The couple's son, who they have not named, arrived in December 2020, and was rushed to NICU. Relevant quote from the article that everyone seems to have missed. Correct me if I'm misinterpreting this but from the way they wrote that statement it sounds like they haven't even given him a name. They keep referring to him in an odd way throughout the article and it never says at any point his name was withheld. Technology wise yes. Regarding laws though they'll likely try to restrict it to rare cases and preexisting couples to keep their monopoly on reproduction. I think the likely outcome will be men satisfying their short term urges with VR while working their way towards getting a bot, assuming they don't pick up a girlfriend along the way. Women will feel the pressure and attack both the technology and the men who use it because it devalues their bodies' worth even more than prostitutes and regular porn. The main obstacle is going to be fatherhood. Feminism will definitely pile on legal pressure to keep ectogenesis out of the hands of single men, esp…

The real hook for VR and sexbots isn't going to be realism. Instead it's going to be about blending fiction with versimilitude. Why bother with realistic forms and personalities when you can literally create the girl of your dreams in VR or robot form?

This isn't about watering a lawn. The sole purpose of those sprinklers is to make an otherwise sheltered area uninhabitable. They're not camping out in government property, they're squatting in alleyways adjacent to it.

I'll keep this brief because I'm not very good at describing things. The majority of homeless people are men; and this treatment doesn't just prevent them seeking shelter, it also risks their health by drenching them and their belongings in the middle of winter.

Empathy is lacking, not absent. The increased sympathy comes as a result of lack of exposure. It's like sitting in the dark then suddenly turning the light on. Ordinary people are better used to experiencing the emotions of those around them

Autistic people, especially those with Asperger's tend to feel more sympathy than the average person. Their apparent lack of empathy typically results from either obliviousness or reduced reactions to stimuli. http://www.nature.com/tp/journal/v4/n1/full/tp2013113a.html

If you're looking at making an app that records that is easy to conceal, you might consider making it look like a clock widget or something similar. It'd be on your home screen, you'd have a legitimate excuse to look at it, and you'd be able to show it to people without raising suspicion.

This law doesn't necessarily have to be applied to raw intelligence. I have asperger's so my general grasp of subtlety is poor and the way I communicate with others tends to be blunt if I don't make an effort to soften my speech. All of that means that when I actually probe for information or look for a favour the person I'm talking to assumes a lack of guile on my part in comparison to them; they take that preconception and make a judgement based off that without suspecting anything.

I don't know if I enjoy working out, but it's become a comfortable routine for me. I'm on the 5th week of my routine and soon my trainer will assess me to find my new threshold for improvement. My hobbies are tabletop roleplaying games, video games, books, excessive consumption of information on the internet; mainly introverted stuff but I keep in contact with my friends; and the gym makes me leave my house.

I was misdiagnosed with ADHD as a kid, when I really have Asperger's. They tried me on Ritalin when I was five and I had severe hallucinations. Mum put me and my sister on dexamphetamine when she moved out with us and it pretty much killed the better part of my emotional spectrum and appetite. Even if a kid does have it, medication will be a last resort for my kids.

Chekov and Sulu's quarters were right next to each other, this and the fact that they shared a bathroom that connected their quarters resulted in the two spending a lot of time in the other's room. I'd put my equivalent at a 3. I'm autistic, obese, and I'm only just starting to get my shit together prospects wise. I'm flatly not interested in the girls I could possibly attract. He's viewed reality through their lense for a long time, but now he suffers from depression he isn't the ally they want. He's caught between mental illness, an ideology he still believes in and the contrasting actions of its adherents. Given time and treatment for his illness I think he can understand that they only ever valued him for his utility, and he can start working on a healthy identity sans "straight white cis male privilege".

You don't have this kind of thing with women pretending to be men because women can't physically compete. I don't like the rules about reassignment surgery and hormone therapy for competitors, but it's probably going to stay that way until/unless they create an intersex competitive category.

I have faith in a good outcome for all this gamergate stuff. Not because journalistic integrity is getting a kick in the pants from all this exposure, but because everything they do in service of feminism bites the hand that feeds them. Good videogames make for good sales. Good coverage makes for loyal readership. Nothing can shift that paradigm without drastically changing the nature of our consumption, and that would mean they'd have to create an entirely new market.

It is ok to be angry. Instead of blaming women, you should blame feminists instead, because they're made up of both men and women. There are a lot of links in the sidebar that talk about men's issues. And lastly, just because anger isn't a unique response doesn't mean you lack depth of character. I won't tell you how to feel about the people involved, but I think your millionaire analogy is off. In that situation he's becoming a sugar daddy in exchange for satisfying a particular fetish. The reality of domestic abuse is that it builds up over time, with the abuser testing boundaries and manipulating their victim. They put distance between them and anyone who might help, and make the victim dependent on them for validation. And if the abuser says "I love you, but you made me hurt you" the…

She wasn't trying to keep the property, Dad was. He was already moving on with his life and could deal with technically still being married if it meant the family home wasn't sold out from underneath him, which would likely bring on a whole slew of custody issues when he had to live with friends or family.

If you're prepared to deal with the consequences this is a message that definitely needs spreading. My advice though: don't. If he'd pushed for a divorce early on he would've had to mortgage the house and move out while still paying child support. So far as he's concerned she was no wife to him anymore. For other reasons see quoted. Edit: I think I see it. He would have had to sell the house.

Australian, though same difference. With a separation order couples can live apart without divorcing. She held off divorce for so long because she was satisfied with regular child support.
/r/MensRights02/09/14 12:22 AM

I was lucky. About a month or so after the divorce, we were all able to work out a fairer custody agreement that gave Dad every weekend. It was better than alternating weeks because then he had time free. Edit: By every weekend I mean Thursday night to Sunday night.

I moved in with him voluntarily. I was still a child, she just couldn't collect child support on me. Regarding the divorce, he didn't have a lot of options. Couples can file for separation without actually getting divorced. If he'd pushed for a divorce early on he would've had to mortgage the house and move out while still paying child support.
