I'm not that guy, but I would say that 85-90% is pretty clearly "The vast majority of directors are men". That being said, Women represent 12% of directors in 2019. Firstly, I suppose you could explain why 12% of directors should be represented by 50% of nominations (presuming that gender is no influence in directing ability). I'm willing to bet that they represent far less proportion of directors through cinema history, though. A 5 minute google search has turned up nothing regarding historical…

the mega star actor days are over. Names dont pull in audiences anymore, good stores and well written scripts do. I really, truly find this hard to believe.

I didn't get it at first, but your comment cleared it up. I think OP just needs better punctuation or paragraph usage. It would read as you're describing if he'd put some sort of break between his mention of the twin towers, and how there used to be two of them.
