No, listen. Yes, there are negative stereotypes associated with men, just as with women. What I'm trying to say is that it's a good thing to try to live up to the positive ones. If the negative ones bother you so much, don't just complain about them - prove them wrong. Let forth your inner manly awesomeness.

Right on. It's amazing how hard some people will fight self-improvement.

Any woman that can do a job like that should be perfectly welcome to do it. What I'm saying is that there's an expectation that men are more likely to be fit for a job like that than women, and that's because men are typically stronger than women. And there's nothing wrong with that.

Like I said, it's self-improvement. And where is this idea that it's all self-sacrifice coming from? There used to be a time when you could just feel good about yourself for being a proper man. It's this bullshit entitlement, this tit-for-tat expectations that you should only ever do something because you'll be repaid equally, that's turning people - men and women alike - to narcissism. It's not about sacrificing yourself for women, it's about strength of will. It's about accepting a burden with…

Who cares? "They don't so why should we" is the kind of philosophy that prevents self-improvement.

This kind of complaint is just as obnoxious as when women complain that opening doors for them somehow diminishes their social status. No, of course that's not what I'm saying. What I'm trying to say is that men have a primarily positive stereotype, and living up to it is a respectable goal. You're partially right, though, as I think selflessness is important. I'm talking about the ideal of man as protector and provider, as a natural leader, as someone who rises to meet a challenge despite adver…

For one, expectations related to a man's superior physicality, because it's true, biologically. Similarly, the expectation that a man will assess a situation logically, as opposed to the emotional sensitivity associated with women. Neither is negative, in my mind, but they're "unequal".

I think this is something worth discussing. Maybe it's an unpopular opinion here, but I would hope that you folks understand what it's like to try to discuss an unpopular opinion with someone that doesn't hold it.

An important note, though: I personally don't think there's any shame in choosing not to adhere to certain standards, such as not calling yourself a man. What I mean is that part of being a man is accepting these responsibilities and expectations, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Politeness (chivalrous or otherwise) isn't about expecting anything in return. If you were opening doors because you were expecting a blowjob, you were never a nice guy.

"They don't want to work with me, so I don't want to work with them now that you're offering it." That's immature and self-defeating, and you're doing exactly what you're claiming feminists do. For as much as you claim to be totally different, you seem to have a lot in common with feminists.

Stick around here too long and you might actually end up hating men. It's starting to happen to me, and I'm a man.

It's not like the government picks who they give money to based on gender, if women get more from government spending, it's because they typically have roles that benefit from it. There are more single mothers than single fathers, so more welfare goes to women than men. Should they give more money to men just to balance it out, because they're men? Tell me that's not sexist. The problem with you brand of MRA - and your feminist counterparts - is that you make an issue out of everything. JayPride…

Disagreeing with someone isn't trolling. This article is inherently flawed because Fidelbogen misinterpreted the diagram. If you refuse to acknowledge a flaw in an argument just because it's anti-feminist, theozoph is right - you're hindering your own movement. Learn to think for yourself, and not just get all of your opinions from uneducated bloggers.

Yes, replacing a non-racist expression with a racist one makes it racist. Amazing insight.l

That image is obviously a Venn diagram and the author of this article is an idiot.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
