I had the opposite experience. My ex husband cornered me into staying home with the kids and I hated it. Awful experience. Really delayed me in life and I'm only now recovered enough financially to level up and go to college etc etc. If anyone actually wants the living hell that is being a stay at home wife and mother at least make sure you have already went to college. Have the savings to do it on your own and keep vetting him.

I dont think they have ever been protectors of women and children unless the women and children directly "belonged" to them. Women and children first on shipwrecks was a myth. If you are going way back to "biblical" then there are so many horror stories right there in the text about allowed abuse of women and children for men's benefit. I read it and it was amazing. We need to develop close ties to other women. Especially now when so much of our human societies seem on the razors edge of collapse. That could derail womens lives entirely if we can not team up and favor close ties to other women.

The comments are a mix of sad situations and stories, fragile men and some amazing roasts of those same men. I am loving that an FDS mentality is growing among women from all walks of life. It made me think of FDS wanting to add a conservative voice to the podcast and I am really warming to the idea so much. Its not my lifestyle at all but conservative women deserve a good life too. I love them as much as I love all women. This song made me happy even if it is not my preferred type of music.

I feel like power imbalance plays a role here. I have been cheated on only in relationships where I loved them more than they loved me and had power over me, either emotionally or financially. If you are the one who needs him less than he needs you the risk of cheating is lower since he feels the fear of losing you as a valued asset. I guess it can still happen but then who cares? Because you never needed him so leaving is less difficult.

I like this idea. I think the conservatives from other countries might avoid some of the really super toxic to women pit falls in current US right wing politics. They come pre packaged with support for health care and less extreme overall.

Yeah I agree with you. I may be biased because I work as a nurses aide in elder care and I love all my patients and some of these older 80+ fellows are some of the sweetest guys you could ever meet. You get the occasional cranky and very confused older man but for the most part the men that are here for care are great, unless they are maybe in their 60s and below. Those not so much and I often have issues with them and entitlement of workers time and efforts.

Yeah this is the big thing from the handbook I will never follow. I have had to get a divorce and it was basically me giving up everything just to escape the situation.
