Men are convicted of crimes more often than women, some racial minorities are convicted of crimes more often than whites. Reasons aside, both are unarguable facts. It is no more inapproste to discuss one than the other and it is extremely relevant here as so many misandrists won't shut up about 'male violence'.

Fetuses aren't peole and have no rights. If you believe otherwise I've got some pro-life buds that would love your support. Your life as a western man must be tough, I'm sure, but for millions of female fetuses in China Why are you comparing the life of Western men to the lives of Chinese women? Apples to apples Western women are the largest, most privileged class of humans that has ever existed. But you know, that based on metrics of well-being like education, health, life expectancy, suicide, …

You're not wrong but this assumes that wealth is the main form of privilege. What about safety, comfort and health? Because women are better off than men along these axes too.

It's not just about desire, but the right kind of desire. There are some things men want from women that most women can't provide, not genuinely. Men are just more sexually diverse than women are.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/21 06:46 PM

Doesn't matter. In one instance men's porn use is driven by women's lack of sexual desire/engagement, in the other it is due to a mismatch in things such as sexual roles or fetishes, particularly the former.

That's your assumption. I interpret that data different, specially in light of literally having eyes and seeing the way straight couples navigate those 'joint' financial decisions. It basically amounts to 'yes dear, you're right dear'. Both women and men are so used to women getting their way that neither of them can see it. It's kinda tragic: women believe they compromise and men believe they have a say.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/21 06:37 PM

Do not project gay men's sexual dysfunctions onto straight men. The sexual dynamics for the two are nothing alike. Straight men come to prefer porn because of a lack of real desire and passion from women, gay men turn to porn because of the massively skewed sexual roles.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/21 06:30 PM

"Joint spending decisions". How exactly do you think those negotiations go? What that data tells me is that either both sexes are wrong or one is... wronger. What's actually occurring here is that men think they're in control when they're not and women think they're compromising, when they're not.

Some of it is extrapolation from known science e.g. selfish gene theory, historical record and anthropology as well as personal observation.

Ler me ask you this, do you believe that psychopathy is an apex gene expression? This is a meaningless question. Genes are either perpetuated or they are not, nothing else mattes from an evolutionary perspective. You seem to think that because the past was a certain way therfor the future must and will be exactly the same. That is the exact opposite of what I believe: new economic paradigms will always result in a radical cultural shift and a civilization transition. We've had three so far and e…

Tell me with a straight face that al bundy or Charles Manson being popular with women is a sign of gene quality let alone of women demonstrating good mate selection. Why wouldn't it be? A high-quality gene is one that endures, nothing more or less. From a gene-centred view of evolution, defectors such as those possessing dark triad qualities take on a great amount of risk in exchange for a greater chance to reproduce and a greater ability to dominate competitors. But biological systems can only …

You can't fight biology. If you're going to hold women as a whole responsible for what they're attracted to there's a mountain of horrific biologically-determined behaviors that men are responsible for as well. It sucks being the loser in the mating game that doesn't get to pass on his genes, but that's nothing new, it is the standard for males across thousands of species. If you want to be angry at something, be angry at nature. Women's evolved mate-selection criteria is part of what got our sp…

It's truly amazing; a 50% increase in the last decade. We're literally observing the end of Western civilization. Those of us that are on the younger side are going to live long enough to see whatever comes next. Our world is about to become a truly weird and alien place to those of us that grew up under the old paradigm.

That doesn't mean women's standards are low, they're just different from what the average Reddit nerd would like. There's a reason 30% of young men aren't getting laid/are virgins.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/04/21 06:47 PM

Attractiveness here is relative, specially since women have so many socially acceptable ways to fake it and you can't separate such judgements from biological reality. Women have much higher standards for men than men do for women, and for straight men, absent attraction to other guys the only way they have to gauge men's attractiveness is based off of women's standards.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/04/21 02:59 PM

This is a touchy subject as a gay man. Part of the new social contract that we live under is that we pretend we're not attracted to straight guys and they don't murder us in horrific ways. Women are often appalled and disgusted by men's sexuality but in comparison they're much kinder about expressing it, whether by intent or necessity. On the other hand, everything women fear of men's nature, bar rape, is imminent reality for us. My first crush ever, when I was about 10 years old, caught me look…

That doesn’t mean that professional psychological help at large is ineffective. That's more or less the impression I got when I went down that particular rabbit hole a couple years back, inspired by a post from Scott Alexander who often writes about psychology and his experiences as a psychiatrist.

Yes. I was a sissy growing up so my female relatives treated me like one of the girls; the horrible things they would say about their husbands and men in general didn't really sink in for me until I grew up and started seeing the world more clearly. It is because of them that I grew up with the impression that women are naturally disgusted by men and their sexuality. Later on I understood that these women just settled and were using the men in their lives as work horses and had absolutely no des…

Why would anyone fight over any of this? The world population is predicted to peak at around 10-11 billion by the end of the century; we already produce enough food to feed that many people. The United States alone could feed the world if the opportunity costs made sense. Same for oil, between us and Canada we have enough recoverable reserves to power Western Civilization. And demand is only likely to decrease. BP and other energy companies have released reports claiming it's already peaked. Rar…

So your solution to these problem is to take your conscientious, socially-aware genes out of the pool and leave the future to those that don't have the foresight or self-control to do the same? /r/PurplePillDebate26/03/21 06:43 AM

Wrong. Men will fetishize anything remotely female-seeming regardless of reproductive ability or genetic fitness. This goes in hand with their hyper-competitive mating arena and quantity-over-quality mating strategies. From a gene-centered view of evolution, given that only around 40% of men will reproduce, any potential chance at offspring is worth taking as reproduction is extremely cheap for males, both metabolically and in terms of opportunity cost.

That's not the 'real thing'. Come on, I'm literally a socipath and even I can understand this. It's alarming that you cannot. Men want to be desired, cherished and respected; that's not something that can be bought. They will settle for less but that's what they want an ultimately they will create a world where that is possible, one way or another.

Some of the qualities men and women look for in potential mates are culturally determined and some are biological in origin and sometimes it is hard to separate one from the other. There are often confluences and some qualities can act as proxies for the thing actually being sought. A good way to tease them apart, as above, is to see whether they endure over time.

And just like with incels refusing to have sex with prostitutes, because reasons, you're not going to replace women with robots. Incels don't want to use hookers because what they want is to be desired, respected and appreciated as men. Sex is just a physical expression of that fundamental need. It's the word the previous poster used. It's a crude form of emotional manipulation where someone attempts to link their opponent's position to something culturally taboo in order to provoke shame and derail them. To believe women just don't like sex sounds a little bluepilled to me. There's several factors you're not considering here: I don't know about you, but I've seen girls who are more than happy to suck a guy's dick. When discussing these subjects always refer to the absolute average of the group you're discussing, not individuals. Outliers exist in any population. "Women aren't lying, they just don't like sex all that much" [...] I personally disagree with the first idea hard Do you have any particular reason to disagree with this, beyond wishful thinking? It seems patently obvious to me. If women loved sex as men do they would act like men do in the pursuit of it. We're 7 BILLION+, i'm afraid we are way past the point where we need women to be brood mares. The opposite is true. I'm in a mostly sexless marriage. Sometimes we bring in a third but our physical intimacy mostly consists of cuddling. It's a surprisingly robust arrangement but we also went into it knowing what we were getting into, which is a bit different from your premise, OP. The geometry of human romantic relationships can be envisioned as a triangle, the tension between three fundamental needs: material, sexual and social. The ideal relationship balances the expectations of all parties across these three…

There's no such thing as low value women, when it comes to sex at least. There's no woman so ugly that a certain demographic of men won't want to fuck them. Trans girls that look like Frankenstein's monster in a dress get plenty of sexual attention. Men are the definition of sexual versatility. Sexual fixation i.e. paraphilias insure that there's no source of feminity that will be left unexploited. We are actually in agreement here that most scientists are completely clueless when it comes to human research. But if by attractive you mean looks, here's a fun fact: men tend to have much more standardized tastes in women than women in men How could anyone possibly believe this? Men fetishize literally any imaginable quality that someone of the appropriate sex might possess. It is obvious and plain to see in the kind of porn they consume, or they kind of men that gay guys go after. That same diversity simply does not exist in equivalent media consumed by movie. This is delusional.

I have ASPD so I genuinly don't care about people beyond a very small circle. It always cracks me up when I read these articles about how men need to protect women. Like, what's in it for me? I would understand this mindset if there was a social contract that our culture abided by, with fairness and reciprocity for everyone built in---I might not have much empathy but I can understand tit for tat. Men don't enjoy being lied to, but they don't want honesty. What they want to is to be loved and sexually desired for who they are, which is an impossibility for a good chunk of the male population. This puts women in a uncomfortable situation where there is simply no right answer. Being the gatekeeper of sex might sound awesome from a man's perspective but it's probably actually painful for women that aren't sociopaths and don't enjoy emotionally torturing other human beings.

I'm glad you found it interesting. I often hear from romantically disgruntled straight friends that we gays have it so easy, they jokingly tell me they wish they were gay after a woman does something awful to them or when they can't get laid. But that’s because the gay community is very hellbent on emulating straight sex and a good part of them refuse to act outside the box. The sex we like is intrinsically linked to our biological nature, the blank-slateism of your post is exactly the kind of pervasive 'lie' that that I'm talking about. I can honestly say that, yes. In an environment of sexual abundance, which most straight men never experience, some guys will go for better looking partners but just as often also go for a larger quantity of the partners they were already getting before. So do you think these 'settled' relationships are just doomed to not work then? Even if the emotional compatability is there? I don't know how interesting this would be to a straight dude but the reason gay men struggle so much with relationships is not because of promiscuity, we're actually pretty decent at maintaining open relationships unlike heteros. It's because most gay couples have little sexual chemistry and we basically settle for each other. The majority of gay men are sexually submissive and/or bottoms and there's not enough dominant/Top guys to go around. The competition for these guys is absolutely brutal.

One of the first truths you have to come to terms with is that people simply don't give a shit about men's suffering in any shape or form. Parents lie to their kids instead of preparing them for the realities of the world and kids often reject the truths they hear in the face of overwhelming social pressures to conform anyway. We grow up lying to ourselves…

People treat dogs like emotional fleshlights, they're basically the junk food equivalent of genuine human social connection. Costant validation without having to put in any effort or face the possibily of rejection. It's not surprising that dog culture in this country has exploded as our society is imploding on itself and people are more isolated than ever. We're not going to agree here, we have fundamentally different ideas of what dog should be to us.

Un neutered male dogs are fucking annoying assholes anyway. Funny, I've heard the exact same sentiment from radical feminists about men and testosterone. Humans constant need to bend other beings to their will without regard can be disgusting. It's how we ended up with abominations like Pugs. There's nothing wrong with intact male dogs; they act as is their nature. If that's not acceptable to you, don't have dogs. Our male dog is on supplemental testosterone and the next one after it dies (Great Danes don't live very long) is not getting neutered. The only reason this one is was because he was a rescue. He's got slightly wonky back legs because of early malnutrution and the added muscle from testosterone has helped stabilize his movements greatly and will help his bones density too. The solution to unwanted stray is better catch and euthanisia programs. Shelters are basically full of dogs no one wants any…

I do not disagree with you. My post attempts to map how it will start, but not how it will end. Change happens first at the fringes, where the memes of the dominant culture break down. Undesirable men are the canary in the mine for what's to come, they have little invested in the status quo so will be the first ones to reject shaming and go full in, turning their backs on the current world for good. It's a thought experiment, it means what the participant wants it to means because that's the point; as our technology increases we have more and more freedom to modify ourselves at higher and higher resolutions. Nope. In its three thousand years China has rarely ventured beyond its borders, they have always been an inward looking people deeply tied to their land with a natural disdain for the outside world. Absolutely. There are always holdouts to the dominant culture, whether by choice or practicality, look at the Amish or hunter-gatherer tribes. 2 billion years of sexual evolution and 2.5 million years of human evolution is not going to be overturned by a few hundred years of technology. Of course it won't. What do you think got us into this mess? Just because both sexes are doing what evolution shaped them to do doesn't mean that they're actually cooperating. Cooperating is incidental. That said isn’t there possible “market corrections” that will be coming to the sexual marketplace that we can’t necessarily anticipate today? Of course. I would say the preferred mating strategy of low value men is to aim for the ugliest chick he can get it up for to avoid competition and cuckolding. Sexual fetishes are probably a way to open up new markets for exploitation. If you want to see what men's sexual nature truly looks like without the tempering influence of women, look at gay culture.

I agree with these. Men and women interact with technology different, they have different consumption habits. I don't see why it would be any different here. I addressed divergence from men's side of the issue and related specifically to sex, because it's a subject of interest to me but there's going to be just as much coming from the other direction.

To me, 'human' is any self-aware being that has human values i.e. the values that an animal that evolved as a social primates might be expected to have, as opposed to the values that a species of sentient crocodiles might. So, if you have an AI baby in the matrix with your AI wife, the child will be human by my standards. Well, post-human.

But why would male and female cultures diverge if more and more people are switching between male and female identities at will? My argument is that men have an incentive to switch. You're piggybacking on my premise to support your assumption that women will too, without supporting that claim in the same way I have. Start there. Also, even if women do switch, your argument relies on the assumption that they will do so for the same reason men will. Elaborate on that. In order for women to fit in …

what' wild is that you have apparently completely dismissed that women would do the same thing. How would they do it in such a way that prevents divergence? That is the point of my post. I mean they are a "lot more common" only due to the relative perception created by history - they were persecuted in past - fair point - and now a lot more of them are free to express themselves, yes, but still, if you take 100% of population even if all of them come out right now, they will be statistically a minority. No, I will not. Just because they're unmet doesn't mean it's women's responsibility to do so. Others will be more than happy to take up the burden I expect. It makes little difference either way to my argument. And you're bitching about something that has nothing to do with my post.

It took thousands of years from the advent of agriculture for societies to transition to the patriarchal cultures that are most successful under that paradigm. Literally every other type of culture failed to compete and was subjugated or subsumed. There's a reason different civilization models only managed to survive in remote places like the Himalayas. In hunter-gather societies women provided more value to their tribes and their way of li…

All men, as a class? Men care more about female suffering than they care about their own, and certainly more than women care about men's---and it's not even close. If most guys actually were apathetic to women's problems, like you seem to be implying, women would starve to death by the millions. Most men are simps, by nature. Men built a civilization where women literally leech off of their labor and they know they will get little in return, even now in this age of cushy office jobs women in dev…

Rearing has very little impact on how kids turn out. Most of it comes down to genetics and extraparental environment, which you can't control.

and have to receive anal a lot if you don't enjoy it. The STI thing is true but this is wrong. The overwhelming majority of gay men are bottoms and strict tops---men that only prefer to penetrate---are basically the Chads of the gay world.

Like I said subs like this are basically just a place to complain and channel men's frustrations in a way that is safe to the status quo. Women get things by complaining, men either have to fight for it or invent solutions. Any movement that tells guys they can get what they want by shouting really loudly is a waste of time. No one cares about what men have to say. Remember that men are builders and problem solvers. Once you understand this it's easy to tell apart effective movements vs. venting…

You'd have gotten piled on even worse in a dating sub. The truth is that there's very few places where your experiences can be discussed because people don't want to hear what you have to say. The idea that women's choices are one of the primary reasons for men's lives being terrible is verboten -- much easier to blame it on a cadre of feminists influencing out culture than pointing the finger at the privileged sex. Subs like this are a pressure valve not an actual vehicle for improving men's li…

You're not going to get much sympathy in this sub. They're generally more concerned about issues they feel men should care about instead of listening to the thoughts and desires of actual dudes. To them you're a political liability.

Good people get angry and frustrated. Sometimes rightfully, sometimes irrationally. That's a perfectly normal part of being a human being. Your standards towards OP are unreasonable and would disqualify most people.

Boys need male role models and authority figures. Female teachers and women in generally have been consistently shown to favour girls while male readers are generally fair. In-group bias is stronger among women.

Humans are naturally gynocentric so there's very little chance of that. Hell there's little chance that any pro-male movement will succeed for that reason alone.

When did men become so terrified to tell the women in their life to shut the fuck up? I can't imagine my sister, mother, niece, aunt's etc. getting into my business like that. They know better.

If it was a man doing something similar you would have pressed charges. This is why MRA will always fail. Straight men find it impossible to deviate from their women-worshipping wiring.

Men, as a class are better at my given thing because individual men within that class specialize in that niche at much higher rates than women do. That genetic variability has a cost but that's besides the point.

They're men. They will never be anything but men and fall squarely under that classification. Also, you're being dishonest by saying it's just a "select few men". It's a small demographic but not really a handful of guys. Men are generally better than women at most tasks but it's never all men, always a small minority because men are specialists and women are generalists.

Why would you omit them? They're still men. I said women as a class didn't pay taxes while men did. Each of those men subsidize scores of economically unproductive women.

That sounds like backwards reasoning to me. Yes, every person is fallible but when someone I respect believes something my instinct is to also re-evaluate my position, not just dismiss them. Karen's a smart woman I doubt her brain turns off when discussing American politics.
