I wouldn’t have a problem with this if there were something similar for women. The problem is that there generally isn’t.

Exactly. Even in this sub, I see people dissing homemakers as “lazy”. Yes, some of them are. So are some of every other group. Get over it.

Simple solution: I get her there first—no vibrator needed; I help her myself—and if she doesn’t ask me to stop after the first one, I get her there again until she’s worn out. Yes, it takes longer, but I love my wife enough to do that for her. (And as an added bonus, the sex after that is amazing.) So am I responsible for her orgasms? Not really, but I want to give them to her.

Yeah, this is more like what DuckDuckGo’s AI said.

Well, at this point, all five members of our family have significant health problems. Not only is she in constant pain, but it’s not uncommon for my her to be at a dozen or more doctor appointments in any given month (both her own and our children’s). She actually wants to work outside the home, at this point, but it’s just not physically possible. Turning back the clock, though—back when she wasn’t in constant pain and our children’s medical needs had yet to surface—she could have gone to work;…

I’d say it’s extremely shameful. You’re literally taking the most sacred act in mortality, one that should only be shared between husband and wife, bastardizing it, and selling it to strangers on a daily basis. I understand that many sex workers are just trying to survive, and I totally sympathize; but that doesn’t make it any less shameful.

Honestly, I don’t have a problem with this one. My wife has been a SAHM since our first child was born, and was already a full-time homemaker and domestic engineer for much of the time before that. It’s not me supporting her; it’s us supporting each other via a simple division of labor—you know, the kind that worked for most everyone before radical feminists decided that “equality” means women should act like men but men shouldn’t act like women. I hope my wife and I never divorce (at this point…

Google’s, anyway—which doesn’t surprise me one bit. Google is very politically Liberal, and I’ve always felt its search engine trended a bit left.

To be fair, plenty of people are virgins when they get married. It’s quite likely that a woman wouldn’t know she dislikes sex with men. But yeah, if for some reason the woman is fornicating despite not liking it, she either needs to find a man that’s not interested in sex or just go full throttle and become a cat lady now.

Well, like I said, I’m guessing a controlled experiment would confirm the hypothesis. I just did the same Google searches and got essentially the same results. Honestly, this kind of crap is why I use DuckDuckGo, which did give me similar results for “…boy…” and “…girl…”: ( a boy keeps touching me ) That sounds really upsetting. If a boy keeps touching you and you don't want it, you don't have to tolerate it. What to do right now • Tell him clearly: "Stop. Don't touch me." • Move away and put sp…

My full-time job is building internal software systems for Apple. Right now, my specific assignment is to test and assess the capabilities of our internal AI. I’m not one of the guys actually coding the AI, but I work with it all day, every day—talking with it, learning from it, correcting it when wrong, etc.. And here’s the deal: AI is great for a lot of things, but consistency is not one of them. When you come right down to it, it’s specifically designed to be inconsistent. You can ask it the …

Eh… it wasn’t a mind-reading thing (though that certainly happens sometimes). She was just surprised that I’d never heard of “the patriarchy”, which is fine. I’m surprised by some things she’s never heard of, too.

I hate the word “patriarchy” (as it’s most commonly used) because it has no meaning. I first became aware of the usage after seeing the Barbie movie (my daughter’s birthday request) and my wife bringing it up. She was shocked that I didn’t know what she was talking about, so she told me to go online and look it up. The top hit was a long rant about how everything that’s bad in the world is due to patriarchy. Unemployed? Patriarchy. Racial strife? Patriarchy. Bad weather? Patriarchy. Stubbed your…

You’ll notice that the o.p. in that thread also says that POTUS is a rapist. Sure would be nice if POTUS would sue these people for libel. I wonder if you can have a class-action lawsuit with a single claimant and millions of defendants! 😄

Depends on what you mean by “feminist”. IMHO, a feminist is someone that wants women to have similar rights and responsibilities to men. That’s the original, and in my mind, true feminism. The problem is that, as eventually happens in many movements, the inmates are now running the asylum. Fourth-wave feminism is a joke, and not a very funny one.

A fair question. I’d say u/enemy_of_misandry’s wording is a bit of an exaggeration, but I suspect his point is that women’s fight for equal representation in the workforce disappears in areas where the job is undesirable and/or physically demanding. For example, you never see women complaining that there aren’t enough female trash collectors. You don’t see them complaining that there aren’t enough female oil rig workers. etc.

I’ve been married 27½ years and still love my wife more with each passing day, so this isn’t meant to bash women or marriage; I’m just stating the facts. A few years ago, I read a study that found that even in the short time since the USA legally redefined “marriage”, Lesbian garriages had a 70% divorce rate vs. 50% for married couples and 30% for male couples. Of course I don’t know how accurate their findings were, but if accurate, that’s pretty crazy! Think about that: according to these numb…

“…until caught” being the operative phrase. Without laws, those few bad actors would just keep going and going, ad Infinitum. But then, if we’re talking about a completely lawless society, then I agree with other posters: the men that want to protect women would generally ensure that the others got much worse than they gave.

I once took an online test and found myself at 49.xx–50.xx% in all four quadrants: Conservative, Liberal, Authoritarian, and Libertarian. I’m honestly not sure one can get much more centrist than that!

True enough, but I do feel like the Democratic Party has become more particularly heinous than most. The GOP, for example, is evil in its own way, but at least it doesn’t publicly demand groupthink and/or promote genocide. The Democratic Party seems to have missed the memo that 1984 was intended as a cautionary tale, not an instruction manual.

Stop associating with partisan Democrats. Nothing wrong with being Left-leaning, but the Democratic Party itself has become pure evil. Have you seen Tulsi Gabbard’s recent speech?

To be clear, most birthmothers don’t “give up” their babies for adoption, and the ones that do are the very, very few that do so because they’re scum. Most children that were adopted were placed, not “given up”. 🙂 Secondly, I’ve personally adopted two children and know many others that have done the same. We’re not generally welfare recipients, though our daughters’ birthparents might have been, had they not loved our daughters enough to place them.

This is an absolutely fair concern, but it’s not really pertinent to the actual question being asked. The question was about the existence of laws regarding men’s bodies; this example is about the nonexistence of such a law.

I asked my wife something like this, the other day: if you feel it’s just fine for a woman to kill her own child because she’s “doing what’s best for herself”, do you also support deadbeat dads because they’re doing what’s best for themselves? Her answer actually kind of surprised me: “I think if the father wants to relinquish all parental rights and live as if the child doesn’t exist, never having any contact again, then yes, I would support that. If he wants parental rights, he has to support …

All possible, but honestly, I think he’s just an undiagnosed autist. He acts exactly the way I would, had I had his life experiences instead of my own. Beyond that, I honestly don’t think you’re portraying him accurately. For example, there’s nothing wrong with praising Xi Jinping for the things he does right. The problem is if one thinks Xi does everything right, and President Trump obviously doesn’t feel that way.

Agreed. I have two friends, both straight women, that were legally married to each other for years. (Why? I don’t know. I don’t tend to ask my friends why they choose their spouses.) Anyway, the point is that their union would not have been legal before SCOTUS’ ruling in Obergefell v. Hodges. So where was the inequality? SCOTUS used Loving v. Virginia to justify the Obergefell ruling, but my friends prove that that’s a non sequitur: the laws overturned by Loving were “Marriage between people who…

I’ve never even heard the “look at your feet” thing. I understand it and might even instinctively do it (especially if the woman is wearing a shortish skirt or dress), but I’d never heard it before now, and it certainly wouldn’t have consciously occurred to me.

I went with my wife and daughter, for the latter’s birthday. I thought there were some cute aspects to it, but I was very confused by the whole “the Patriarchy” thing, since I’d never heard of that concept. Talking about it with my wife afterwards, she encouraged me to look it up, which I did. According to my limited research, “the Patriarchy” is the source of everything bad in the world, and nothing good. If you don’t have enough money, it’s the Patriarchy’s fault. If someone looks at you the w…

Exactly. I really don’t have a problem with what she’s trying to do, but she’s operating from the presupposition that: 1) “The patriarchy” exists. 2) The patriarchy is bad, which we know because everything the patriarchy does is bad, which we know because everything bad that’s ever happened is the patriarchy’s fault, and we know those things are bad because the patriarchy caused them and the patriarchy is bad. 3) All men (except incels) are the patriarchy. 4) Women have to help boys not become t…

Absolutely agree with other posters: sex doesn’t cure loneliness. If you want to not be lonely, commit to keeping the Law of Chastity (i.e. no sexual relations outside of marriage) and find a girl that does the same (or is willing to start). My wife and I were both virgins until our wedding night, and the connection is amazing. I know for some, it’s too late to technically be a virgin, but it’s never too late to change your ways and start having that level of commitment!

Dead on. At the moment, our house is an absolute wreck. Last night, my wife asked why I didn’t spend some of yesterday cleaning up the living room and family room. I informed her that I would have been happy to, but I knew $%#@ well that if I touched anything, I’d suffer her wrath. As a youth in the Church of Jesus Christ, the young men were constantly being mocked by the young women for needing to be ordained to Priesthood office before we could do the same things they could do without ordination. (You’d think Christians would be better than that, but like they say, the Church of Jesus Christ isn’t a country club for perfect people; it’s a hospital for sinners.) I’ve got to agree with her here. I consider myself a feminist. Feminism is ultimately just the position that women have the right to make their own choices. The fact that the loudmouth, over-the-top misandrists have co-opted the term doesn’t mean others can’t use it correctly.

In my book, being “pro-choice” is synonymous with being “pro-life”. I can’t think of an act that destroys as many choices as killing someone. My two daughters were both adopted at birth. The elder’s birthdad had the opportunity to meet us before signing the adoption papers. He wasn’t thrilled (as would be expected), but he knew what our daughter needed and that he couldn’t provide it, so he willingly signed the papers and has been a part of our lives ever since. Unfortunately, he has also never …

“Very few people are genuinely kind to others.” This may be true, but I’ve found that what people see in others is mostly a reflection of themselves. It’s like the old saying: You met a jerk today? That stinks. I hope tomorrow’s better. You met ten jerks today? Might want to look in the mirror. If someone’s not seeing lots of people that are genuinely trying to be kind to others, I suspect that person is looking in the wrong places and/or with the wrong eyes.
