Does it get better?Lost my mom to cancer and a girl I loved around the same time, second half of uni. I felt tired and lost for a few years. Pick a path, walk it, and you'll heal eventually. If making money isn't fulfilling to you, then within reason, place less emphasis on it and find goals that are fulfilling to you. | /r/askTRP | 08/06/21 06:49 PM

Is Going to the Gym “Too Much” a Thing?OP, I second this^ I'd recommend stronglift 5x5 as a three day a week program to get up to speed, and then if you want to hammer at the gym, get on candito or Hybrid5. | /r/askTRP | 07/06/21 02:23 PM
Is Going to the Gym “Too Much” a Thing?I'd recommemd staying on the 5x5 program to get back into things, then once you're ready, switching to a program where you have a push and pull workout three times a week, and a squat/deadlift workout twice a week. My workout schedule looks like this: Monday/Friday: Squats, then deadlifts, then an accessory or two. Friday is the heavier day. Tuesday/Thursday/Sunday: Bench press, getting progressively harder each day. Accessories include one bench variation, usually incline dumbbell press, one ro… | /r/askTRP | 07/06/21 09:30 AM
Is Going to the Gym “Too Much” a Thing?Deadlift and squat are both very taxing lifts, especially deadlift. If you're going heavy (doing simple progressive overload + grinding or similar), that's 4 days out of your week you spend doing taxing lifts. Even if you're not sore, your body isn't fully recovering from that. That's mild chronic fatigue. You won't be sore, but it'll be just bad enough to reduce your overall work capacity. Periodization is important. Within each week, I'd recommend you have a lighter day for a lift and a heavie… | /r/askTRP | 07/06/21 02:44 AM
Is Going to the Gym “Too Much” a Thing?Absolutely nothing wrong with using the gym as a coping mechanism or "vice" (it's not a vice. Drugs, alcohol, and video games are vices). With that said, 6 days sounds like a lot to me as a powerlifter. You likely have some mild chronic fatigue going on that you don't notice. I speak from experience, as I used to train like a bodybuilder with a 6 day PPL split. It's probably not optimal for strength progression, but if hypertrophy is your goal, you're not always making yourself sore and fatigued… | /r/askTRP | 07/06/21 02:20 AM
I just completed the most successful salary negotiation in my life and wanted to share my experience with you.Heh. Saw this on CS Career Questions a few days ago. Did not expect to see anyone from there around here. | /r/askTRP | 20/03/21 02:40 PM

Why do we lift?Out of curiosity, by what measurement method are you around 14%? You look closer to 10-12% to me tbh. I'm around 13% myself and I have pretty good muscle definition but without a pump my veins aren't popping and my muscles aren't rippling. | /r/TheRedPill | 24/08/18 03:36 AM
[Rant] On Greiving and Women. You're not alone. This past summer, my mom got sick to the point of being bedridden, and between work and keeping up with chores, I had little time to dedicate to talking to my now-ex, with whom I was doing LDR (hadn't found TRP yet) between years at our university. Needless to say, she left me via phone call, citing all kinds of bullshit reasons. The same day she left, I found out my mom's ailment was terminal cancer. Wishing you all the best, my friend. We'll get through it. | /r/TheRedPill | 20/11/17 06:02 PM
