Because they do undesirable things like not listening to what people tell them they want and thinking you’ve cracked the code and know exactly what someone wants even if that person is telling you the opposite

I disagree, you don't have to lie about anything. You can tell the same story in two different ways, and one of them is definitely going to sound more interesting. If you add emotions and thoughts into the pure facts you're telling someone, that will be a much more engaging conversation that could possibly lead to attraction and a solid relationship. Game is not deceiving, not necessarily at least.

I've noticed something though... I have met several people that are unhappy with their own life and life aspirations and more than one time I've heard people I was casually dating say "it must be nice do IT stuff and get IT money, you know, it's where it's at. If I could go back..." I felt shamed a bit that they didn't have a job they loved and it gave them a good life while I had that. Not sure they did that on purpose or not but that's how it felt. That makes me hide from everybody how my life…
