You claim to be a mens rights activist but you can't even define what a man is or what a man ought to be. You're no better than the feminists are you?

OK then what is a man, are there distinctions between good men and bad men and are there disqualifiers from being a man entirely?

So is literally everything, Jesus what a cop out.

OK sure - what does it mean to be "a man" in both today's society and the society you want brought about? The former is obviously bad and the latter would be an improvement (I'm assuming is your position as a MRA) To figure that out in an (even close to) all encompassing way you'll have to work out your relationship with manhood and masculinity, and discuss it within your community. It's incredibly boring don't get me wrong but it's the work you need to do to get any traction in your movement.

Really that dead set against introspection huh? Not sure how you'll have a revolution if you don't even know yourself.

I don't understand why you can't advocate for both men's rights and women's rights, sounds silly to me. But to not explore how being raised as what society deems a boy then given the societal expectations of manhood seems even sillier, surely that's where all this starts?

So any deviation from how you view the world is completely wrong and you're the only one who has meritable answers? Yeah not narcissistic at all lol.

Everything is a narrative, especially gender and how society operates around and influences it.

I want a narrative a little bit more nuanced than "men are the problem" or "women are the problem", it's something beyond the sum of genders parts it has to be. Both sides of the isle have to touch grass and talk to actual people that's for certain.

Oh I'm sure they'll listen to me, bisexuality doesn't afford you that much oppression currency you know.

I just want to understand both perspectives, I think both can learn from one another and collaboration is the only way forward. So yeah, I will join a feminist server and probably annoy them with lines of questioning until someone tells me to join a mens rights server.

At much much lower numbers, get those machines operated by an even rudimentary AI (let's be generous and give it 20 years) you won't even need any operators. The second we get automatic driving AI below human error bye bye lorry drivers!

Automation my guy - it wiped out the miners and steelworker uber masculinity it will wipe out your binmen and lorry driver kind of men too.

Incels are self loathing losers who give their energy to dragging others down with them for their pity party circle jerks. Jordan Peterson tells them to clean their room and work on improving themselves - I don't see the connection here.

Men suffer under the patriarchy too, heck men are.. majorly ostracised from society if they break the patriarchal mold - the vast majority of feminists would acknowledge that.

Way to make it puritanical from the get go, you need a broad church of allies not a circlejerk where your message gets less and less palatable to the average person. If you can't put your message into terms that feminist leaning people can support, you'll get no traction (adding legal protections without taking away from women, supporting single dads in every possible way just off the top of my head). Oh also in the same way a super "woke feminist USA" has zero statutory paid maternity leave, re…

Hmmm you sound like a guy who knows his doughnuts, imma do my feminist bubble popping research and get back to you maybe, have a good day/night/morning Internet rando! Thanks for the good head start!

It's equal outcome by artificially boosting the equal opportunity of women in the field. Its an equal outcome at the expense of a group (much like stripping women's reproductive rights to the level you perceive men's to be) In my example its an equal outcome but it gives one group an artificial advantage. In banning abortions its an equal outcome (in your opinion) but it still undermines your reproductive rights even if it undermines women's a whole lot more. There are no winners but at least wo…

OK sure: Hiring quotas that disadvantage men (advantaged as the field is male dominated) in order to give women equal access (disadvantaged as they are a minority in the field). At least in that example a group is actually given an advantage, in this situation both men and women are at a bigger disadvantage.

It's just imaginary Internet points, nothing to worry about! Echo chambers are a scary place, if you're not careful you start enforcing them yourself (gotta say I'm venturing out from a vaguely feminist bubble myself, it's important to diversity your viewpoints you know?)

Isn't "disadvantaging group A so disadvantaged group B is equal to them" the kind of thing feminists supposedly do that MRAs take issue with? I expected some MRAs to be hypocrites, I didn't expect open admissions to it.
/r/MensRights18/08/22 03:27 PM

Again: we didn't. Stop lying, you sound like a feminist. You literally said the only way for The MRM to get ahead was by undermining feminist activists and the wider goals of feminism, that includes their fight for reproductive rights whether you like it or not. I think it's helpful that feminists are getting a tiny taste of what it's like to be a man and have no reproductive rights. No reproductive rights? - Cheap and easy access to condoms - The right to a vasectomy has never been politicised …

Did you advocate on your own back or reactively to discussion of female rape victims? One is very different to the other (hint: one is actual activism, the other is ineffectual, reactionary politics that serves little to no purpose)

It would be a force to be reckoned with if both groups fought for each other's liberty at the same time, that is what revolutions are made of.
/r/MensRights18/08/22 01:56 PM

Stripping women of their right to reproductive options is severely undermining feminism in The US, how has this advanced the MRM in any way? You don't get rights by taking another's rights away, you get equally zero rights that way. Is that the kind of equality you're looking for? You either put aside your petty differences and fight the common enemy of far right politic or you get less screwed than women but screwed all the same under the system they enforce. That fucking simple.

For any real change feminist activists and men rights activists have to fight for both rights as humans. Time to go in faith and fight in solidarity comrades.

Just going to put "use woman as human shield" in the peaceful protest survival tactics portion of my brain.

You see a feminist would agree and would give that societal phenomenon a name like heteronormativity or monosexism. A woman's worth being derived from her ability to be attractive to society's archetype of a man is surely evidence of a patriarchy (the inverse being spat out on men is also society's patriarchal force but I'm sure you already know about society's disdain for "failed men") I find it interesting that feminists and men's rights activists are largely in agreement with each other but t…

It's quality over quantity for women when it comes to sex though, and statistically they have much higher quality sex.

I get how you can believe that if your interactions with gay people is more online than it is irl. Vocal minorities are even louder when they're a minority of a minority. For the most part gay people are apolitical nowadays - all the legal battles have been won they can openly fall in love, marry and have a family (and all the other stuff like get laid loads more than you lol).

Honestly the UK adopting identity politics wholesale from the yanks is ridiculous, as if its not the same handful of land owning families running the show as it basically always has been lol.

Haha don't get me started - every girl is a feminist until their boyfriend is bi right?
