You will lose any relationship you had with them for the most part. At best you will have an uncle kind of relationship with them. I just me someone and we are really hitting it off. I know this will be what happens when I eventually move to marry her. I'm sure I'll get downvoted to hell and back, but for reasons I won't get into here, I don't feel a deep connection to them, and that will never really be established properly. It makes it only a little easier, but in the end, they will be the bet…

That's great advice. I will look into that as well. Thanks.

Thank you. I am too, but I'm mustering the courage to deal with it. After a bunch of you pointed out, rightly, that what I was experiencing I kind of internalized it for the day and went about my business. When I had a moment alone, I'm not ashamed to admit, I broke down in tears.

I appreciate your response, but I have ZERO problems with any partner of mine making more money than me. I mainly put that in there to show how powerless I feel to leave and still be OK.

I plan on doing so. It happened twice in the past year that I have pictures of. Thank you for your response.

You are totally right. That's why I'm here. I need people from the outside to give me perspective. I really appreciate it.

I appreciate your perspective. You're right. It is DV. I told her I found it once she came home that day. The counselor had suggested she not tell me until she was ready and remembered everything. Maybe I began to notice more things, I would really say it wasn't the same after we got back together in college, but I never connected the dots until afterwards. Granted, she did not remember the SA happened until it was triggered by an e-mail sent to myself, her, and my father. I thought it was spam …

No offense, but that's toxic masculinity nonsense. Anyone can be a leader. Just because I am "the man" doesn't make me the leader if the house. This isn't 1955. Granted. I should have taken a more active role in decisions.

I don't think that would work due to how we are low on savings. Not to mention we are on my work's insurance plan, in terms of the incoming baby.

I appreciate the advice. I am working on losing the post-college weight. Not drinking is one day at a time, but that's all it has to be. I will be finished with my MBA in early September, which should put me in a better position to find a higher paying job. My only conundrum is how to squirrel money away since my wife is so tied into our family finances.

Right. Those are my initial thoughts. I would rather focus on modeling what a good father is rather than what a bad husband is.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
