I’m sorry man this is awful, and so familiar. You provided stability earnings and comfort — and you get your heart ripped out of your chest cavity. I’d just take it as she doesn’t want you. Here’s what I know — if she’s leaving for these reasons, she may get rejected socially once it gets out - leaving you for no good goddamn reason.

Do you really know her life is great, meeting great people fucking people having a time? We do this — we’ll see perfect strangers and assign “everything’s great” to them — but we really don’t know. It just helps to — fixate us. “My life is shitty — and that guy just passing in the Audi — is doing great.” It helps justify our own minds working against us. Dude I’m pulling for you! A year out is a tricky place. If you’re like me I’d think “next season will be better. At least when it’s spring I’ll…

Yeah man it sounds like depression thinking— and cognitive psych tells us these automatic or intrusive thoughts just pop in there. It works to confirm your situation — “I’m isolated she’s not…she’s moved on I haven’t.” Rationalize man — you should feel agonized and hurt and overwhelming sadness — for this tragedy, end of a marriage. Think of these thoughts as images on a reel — they just float past. I highly recommend focusing on self care — nutrition, sleep, and exercise and play, especially in…

The sudden isolation is crushing. People distance themselves. It’s like being injured while the heard moves on. And your spouse once your support — prob suddenly became your worst enemy.

With divorce isolation becomes paramount. Suddenly people don’t reach out don’t wanna be awkward. Be the opposite. That dude needs you and your help —- more than they can possibly communicate.

I think we let go by going through a very profound mourning period. I was six months post divorce when I hit bottom flat on my back looking into the abyss alone. Helped to realize —- we don’t lose out bloodline family and our love. Gotta experience the hell first to then get through. Agreed with everyone stating focus on health. For me that meant — sobriety, Wellbutrin, refocus on cooking and eating well. If your sleep goes zealously attempt to get it right. Exercise — as play - was key. Fuck I …

Def communicate honesty — “not looking for a rebound…” etc. Also enjoy the adulation. Fuck you gonna do - you still have it?

Dude I’ve about had it with white bitches. Mines from Delco — fuck me! I was — blinded by love. “Whatever it takes…” oops. Appreciate your time - continually amazed men can endure so much shit with a matter of fact, welcome to the suck stoicism. Shit falls apart - make it look classy I guess. Haha - I tell people I’m divorced four years —- overwhelming consensus response is — “congratulations”.

Dude I got strong but 4 years ago — flat on my fucking back. We shared friends, we mingled with people in the community — everyone seemed to disappear and were given endless stories by her. Eventually they figured it out — she was ostracized in a way from the town (Media PA). Plus I moved my old man in to care for while he died of complications of lung cancer exacerbated by — alcoholism. Old man never drank or was drunk as a kid. He retires now I was his intake nurse at home. So sorry man this i…

Dude this is awful. What a fucking nightmare, so sorry. You need to immediately change your va benefit direct deposit to a new checking account no? Find a bank with a checking account bonus (deposit $500 for 90 days gets you $2-300). This isn’t about fireworks purchase. You know that right? Dude can you at least consult with an attorney? Dude…ugh. The moment I realized my spouse has suddenly with no warning — become my worst enemy, was the moment I fell apart. Then through hell fell together aga…

“Something went wrong, they were concerned and tried to hint around when I didn’t get their hints by the time they communicated the issue directly they were done.” This is spot on — and almost — almost - made your rants about sex bots tolerable. Your reasoning reminds me of the great Atlantic article The Marriage Lesson I Learned Too Late.

My condolences sounds terrible it’s a great loss I hope mourning and grinding through will lessen the pain down the road. I appreciate you honoring here , just to strangers. My wife left 5 years ago August, and right after I moved my father in to care for him in the last year of his life; took care of him while we both had Covid. He was actually shockingly right there on the sofa next to me when I signed the divorce papers and fell apart. Life is funny - sad there til the end. He died a year lat…

Make it smooth and comfortable for them by just showing them how much you treasure your time with them and remind constantly mostly through action and deeds that — no man ever will have their backs like you. We all know this is true — children are insanely malleable and resilient. You’d be surprised to find your heart breaks for them and — they might need it to. Keep it normal by —- keeping it normal. Same favorite foods cooked with love, same visits to favorite places, same good routines just u…

Here for you. We know depression is — excess loss, excess irrational sadness. Yours is real based on a horrible situation where all emotions you’re experienced are —- rational. You’re supposed to feel this way yeah? Your spouse becomes your enemy, your life turned around. It gets better - time heals all. My cope during proceedings was 150 mg Wellbutrin Cognitive behavioral therapy Exercise —- regimen, but fun stuff - bike, catch, swim in a lake. Essentially quit alcohol (<1 month> No shit look a…

Mofo I’m crying right now reading this. Alright not crying but tears. Ex left five years ago, divorced four years, 50 50 custody. Realizing I’d see my sons half the time —- was the lowest point, flat on the ground broken. Then I fell apart again or completely numb and now it’s way easier. Go through it man. It gets you through.

Hey man — sorry this is awful but yes it seems the arrangement may be a very good outcome in an awful situation. It’s not unreasonable to have the public understand this man —- runs a business — A FUCKING business! and acted this way. You’re in a way performing due diligence for potential unsuspecting victims.

“She claims she doesn’t love me and…” dude I’m so sorry. Not being sure what to do is totally normal — when going through it saying this would be kind — I was a fucking disaster when in separation. Feelings you can’t escape from of being screwed are awful — your mind keeps these thoughts churning they don’t help it’s like treachery from within. “To be like her mother’s…therefore a false marriage.” Your wife can go fuck herself. So uh —- what are you gonna do?

Yeah makes sense, you’re going through a devastating situation. I’ve often realized - that agony may have protected me — kept me home and nailed down. Months afterward I’d wave goodbye to my kids going to school knowing I wouldn’t see them for three days and 1/2 of their remaining childhood — and I’d fall to the ground bawling. Still there was no answer to the “why’s”. Why me? Why did I deserve this? — silence. What’s insulting as well is how flip these bitches act — like it’s normalized. “Peopl…

Here to tell you I’m so sorry. Went through it five years ago Aug and your scenario here it’s — fucking horrible, a waking nightmare you neither asked for nor deserved - yet here you are. Your line about your kid crushed me, man. Having the realization I’d see my kids half the time was destroying flat on my back rock bottom. Then slowly recovered. You’re not wrong to be cold to her. In fact going cold, after all because I was - devastated, seems normal human behavior no?

Not sure about others — got through it by going through it. Experienced depression and insomnia for the first time. Depression being an irrational, an irrational, excessive sense of loss. So my thoughts went to “it’s just me — I’m unlovable, I deserve this, I’ve NEVER been worthy etc. — irrational. But by realizing those things making me mournful and very sad —- we’re all reasoned, we’re actually real experienced that make people mournful and low energy. In other words — you’re perhaps - meant t…

Divorced three years this past May. She left, wasn’t happy, then treated me awfully, I asked for divorce, she acted like I sh0t her old man, how could I have I never appreciated her etc. she’s eating praying loving I guess. The shock for me was realizing a spouse I gave vows to suddenly turned on me and it became obvious she had her secret strategy and plan all along — and nothing could be done - accept it or suffer. That and realizing kids are in my life half the time caused a part of my brain …

Not only all of the relatable things mentioned above but my ex went on an active preemptive reputation wrecking campaign. Apparently I was too boring — carrying 80% of monthly expenses and having to manage a mere 1k/mo in savings — for two people and their future nest egg, because she took a 50k pay cut to pursue her happiness — taking a job chasing child predators online and making cases — by hunting down and examining child porn all day long. Oh sorry mama — just thought bills 401ks and 529s w…

That is fucking cold - she’s leveraging your kid against you. Seeing that you’ve had 10 hours to think about it — you still “broken”? Hey man — did a woman break you?

When I’m dating online, at 49 after 12 years marriage, 17 altogether, I’m also struck by how many seemingly attractive hot successful women there are available out there. The current running through most of their observations is - they’re having difficulty finding attractive men. M Apparently alatta you mofos put fishing pics of n your profiles?

My cynical self thinks it doesn’t get better you just go colder, more numb. Three years divorced - not sure how long but best way is — straight through this fucking awful hell you’re experiencing? Great now I have to deal with protecting my kids — when they’re not with me half the time. Work that therapy, unless therapist sucks you’ll benefit from being open and honest. Fortunately I had a trusted one for eight years prior.

People who drown it out are — repressing it, some use booze. You do start over but keep in mind what got you here. You think they just gave you your job cause you didn’t know shit? Nah you went out and broke your balls to master a job?

Sounds like boot camp I was rather thinking of walks or bike rides or whatever in the morning n sunlight. It’s a trigger for all kinds of modulating and regulating chemicals for mood focus etc. Haven’t considered the analogy — suicide is your own hand committing the ultimate destruction divorce involves another person. Although it’s understandable from the perspective of their obliteration of the self. In suicide always there’s no future whereas divorce changes your nature.

Best advice I’ve taken re active schedule is to get sunlight in the morning. It is quite literally a switch to release serotonin. I asked for divorce a mere six months after separation as she was simply awful - clearly no longer in love with me. So I got sober as well and the insomnia and intrusive thoughts were crushing; very much recommend talk with Dr about Trazadone for sleep. Pay attention to those thoughts. I found it helpful to have most of them validated as being — reasonable. If you’re …

Not my insight but — going through the misery bitterness rage anguish — and wholeheartedly — is a way faster way through to the joy and silver linings. Sometimes the most honest awful assessment of my immediate separation divorce period (also moved in dying father while working at a firm going bankrupt and Covid) was the most relieving. The little things matter - getting some sunlight and exercise, sleep - tackling those fucking lingering ball breaking projects around the ‘stead - it’ll matter. …

A friend of mine shelled out 120k in fees to divorce lawyers — and is still married and yes, he’s as miserable as ever. Still paying that bill - over a decade later; prolly makes 250k/yr.

Boss lady syndrome strikes again. “Women and children can be careless, but never men.” - Vito Corleone. A sure sign she’s gonna go get some other dick is when she starts really committing to working out and getting in shape (so she can more likely attract the kind of man she wants to bang.”
