Most women who find themselves in this situation can't do that though, because they're looking after the baby and recovering from any effects of the pregnancy. Nannies are expensive and maternity leave on it's own usually isn't enough to cover living expenses for both mum and child.

Often they can't because they're at home taking care of the baby and recovering from any effects of the pregnancy - that's kinda the whole point of child support.

Nope, because if the fetus is allowed to develop into a sentient human child, then that child will need financial support.

It's okay for a woman to abort a fetus which doesn't even have the capacity for consciousness yet because she doesn't fancy undergoing a dangerous and painful medical procedure that frequently has long-lasting effects on the body.

I already covered that in (b). Expecting taxpayers to cover the bill so that the men can opt out of child support is not realistic imo.

Nonsensical or not, that's part and parcel of bodily autonomy. We can't force women to get abortions, so the other 2 options are (a) just let kids go without sufficient financial support for their care which is absolutely unacceptable to me, or (b) have the state intervene financially (using taxpayer's money) which I can't envision any government going for. Is it exactly fair? No, but it's the lesser among evils. Sometimes the only choices are bad choices, and this is one of those instances.

The rape exception would be fair enough, it's just really hard to prove

Yep. I also think the commonly touted "financial abortion" work-around doesn't make sense either, because ultimately it just makes things worse for kids who had no say in any of it and need looking after.

Okay, so then this is the part where you put on your big boy pants and communicate with her. If it feels like there's little to no reciprocity and it's unclear how invested she actually is in having a relationship, ask her how she sees the two of you. Then if the response seems off (and it's been long enough that she should probably have a better response), that's your cue to either move on entirely or put her in the friendzone yourself.

How is that parasitic? Two people going on a few dates and one (or both) of them concluding that it won't work out is a necessary pert of dating, it happens all the time. You don't have to be friends if you don't want to.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/23 08:28 PM

How is it irrelevant? I thought you wanted to avoid being a "sucker".
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/23 08:12 PM

No, but it may give some clues about her views on finances and whether or not she expects the man to pay for everything.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/23 08:10 PM

My dude, I can understand wanting to avoid being taken advantage of but this is totally the wrong way to go about it. Stick to a relatively low-cost first date, then on any subsequent dates gauge how she approaches money and the cost of activities / food and drink. If she doesn't offer to pay or split by the 2nd or 3rd date, I'd consider that a sign of incompatibility and move on. That's how you do it, not this weird combative transactional shit you're on (which is only gonna repel good women, b…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
