I’d stick it out for another 2 sessions and see where it goes. It appears he did help with your last problem. I’d look at his track record (reviews). Side note; CBT relies heavily on the patient and a will to acknowledge certain tendencies in your cognitions (thoughts) and behaviours in the situations at hand. If you do go to these next 2 sessions keep this in mind and fully commit yourself (if you haven’t done so already). All the best!

CBT a gold standard today for clinical therapy. How long have you been going for these CBT sessions specifically? He appears to be prompting you to get a better understanding of your feelings and current issues. If it’s early on in the CBT sessions he appears to be doing his job.

There’s a difference between shit testing and being a piece of shit. If it’s a close friend set your boundaries, otherwise fuck them

Bipolar is a very manageable condition if properly monitored, especially if you strictly adhere to your dosing regimen prescribed by your psychiatrists. Let those that you are very close with (best friends/family) know and ask them to be honest with you in regards to your symptoms. I don’t have bipolar myself, but a close family member of mine has it, but from what I’ve seen you’ll be ok

The Fb messages seemed pretty weak. Instead try to actually make friends by initiating something with them after (doesn’t have to be your own house party). From there if they actually like you they’d invite you to more shit. Worry about your own fun and people will seem to follow/want to be with you.

I agree, I developed feelings after becoming friends with her and thought that orbiting would get me somewhere but boy was I wrong.

The gym, surrounding yourself with good people, eating healthy and other positive habits will have a ripple effect on self-esteem. The first step is to start respecting yourself by making sure these positive habits are met. Although we’re all prone to seeking external validation, try to shift the focus of majority of your energy to you and only you. Be the man you want to be and self-esteem will follow

This is probably the most pessimistic thing I have ever read. Mental illness is often curable with proper intervention and people should be encouraged to seek help to improve themselves (sound familiar to you? It’s a core component of TRP philosophy). This is some external locus of control bullshit that doesn’t belong here.

I’ve had success with Hinge, it gives you an advantage since you can open with something funny right away and get a response. Also the quality of girls seems to be on par or better, at least in my area

I’m in a similar situation. Cutting off contact with classmates/friend oneitisis can be difficult. From what I’ve learned is that the pain won’t be easy to overcome, and it’ll hurt for a good bit no doubt. It’s ok to feel this way. The best thing we can do is focus on ourselves. Priority number one should be hitting the gym. Prioritize your studies and get to where you need to go. If she wants to tag along on your journey to greatness that’s for her to decide. Keep improving and don’t worry abou…

I see where you’re coming from but it’s likely you’re overreacting and he didn’t have negative intentions, he could be genuinely nervous. The way you handled it was fine if it bothered you, but maybe joking about him being nervous could have came off as more friendly

I’ve been having a little bit of success with tinder/other dating apps, I’m trying to get into the abundance mentality. I’ll keep that up along with lifting/self-care/focusing on goals
