2	Why do you think Western Birth Rates are so low? It is no longer feasible to have a household on one income. Due to this, both men and women have to work. Disproportionally, pregnancy and child rearing falls on the women’s shoulders. So we are expected to cook, do the household chores, raise kids, AND work. It is just too much so many women are choosing to pursue a career instead. I think most people still want kids, but many are choosing to have them later on in life. 9	Why do you think Western Birth Rates are so low? Even countries with robust support systems and great maternity/paternity benefits are not having kids. I think it’s definitely related to the decline of stay at home moms. Disproportionally, pregnancy and child rearing fall on the women’s hands. A lot of the west is using immigration to supplement population decline. There just isn’t a lot of pros in raising children in this day and age.
