I didn’t intend to imply you were, I was referring to myself. And there’s wrong with that, I’m only saying it’s a bit of an unrealistic standard to hold yourself and other people to. Everyone wastes time, and if an activity of any kind improves your life and health, it’s not a waste of time. That’s all i mean!

And more power to you for it, sincerely. I’m not here to shame anyone’s game, I’m just saying it’s dangerously easy to fall into that well meaning (but slightly sanctimonious trap) on Reddit and forget that every single human—including you—wastes some mental energy, in one way or another. Fantasizing is a part of every human that ever existed, and if having occasional fantasies about someone fictional has an observable positive effect on my life, I don’t see any point in being ashamed of it. If …

Haha isn’t it? I just see so many people in FDS acknowledging the harsh truth that HVM are rare, and there are not enough to go around…if that’s the reality of the situation, is that many women will have to choose to remain single instead of shack up with scrotes. Sometimes you really do have to pick the lesser of two “evils” and until / unless you do find a HVM, even excessive fantasizing is still less damaging than fucking LVM. If you’ve got the ability to flick your sex drive off like a light…

Reading books, watching movies, consuming any media whatsoever is occupying your mind with fictional characters. Absolutely nobody is using every moment of their free mental energy strategizing, planning and thinking lofty, productive thoughts, and I’m not interested in the 24/7 hustle mindset. I allow myself the mental downtime to indulge in a recreational activity—including fantasizing. It’s helped me process things about myself, it’s helped me release pressure, anger or sexual frustration wit…

Indulging in a little fantasizing about fictional men has saved me a ton of stress and money over the long term. I don’t know if it’s post nut clarity or what but allowing myself to have fantasies is one of many things that keeps me from being desperate and getting dickmatized IRL. Every human has them (that’s how a lot of goals and dreams are formed) and I truly believe everyone has at least one small sexual fantasy they wouldn’t really like in reality. Not necessarily gross pedophilic abusive …

It’s an incredibly effective manipulation—men will tell younger women we’re jealous and out to sabotage them if we try to protect or warn her. But I will continue to warn her. And if she doesn’t listen, okay. But I won’t be like “well, her problem now.” When she realizes she needs to escape, I will STILL be here waiting to support her.

Gotcha, I hope you can meet some awesome ladies in person instead. It’s super hard to find women without at least a few pickme tendencies so I might just be working around that, too.

Seconding this and any sort of media or success stories. I’ve been feeling really awful lately, trying to pay attention to the HV relationships of people I know and respect but they all started in their 20s. I’m working on changing my mindset but admittedly being surrounded by success stories that are impossible for you to replicate in any way weighs me down.

Fair enough, I didn’t have a single social avenue at the time, and I think it helped that I was in a really populated area (Orange County CA) so I filtered everyone out with kids and under age 28, which brought me more of the people I clicked with I think. It’s not for everyone, I’m hoping to make more friends in real life too but for shy people like me it helped immensely. But again it might be where I live working to my benefit of course

On the flip side I’ve had a really good run on Bumble BFF, it’s not all winners but I’ve met some really cool friends there. When I moved to a new city by myself it was a huge help.

I sifted through ten or twenty flakes but when I did find a match, it was worth it. We’ve been good friends since last December now. Better luck than I had with regular Bumble that’s for sure.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
