I know of the law and in such a case if all the restrooms were single use I'd use it no matter what sign was on the door. I know women who do so, no fucks given. It's single use so whatever.

Whatever you might think about them, this is the challenge that the ACLU is facing because they chose to defend Milo recently as well as when they decided to intervene in Skokie all those years ago.

I thought TwoX was one of the subs that if you posted in some other subs like TumbleInAction, KIA, the_donald, FatPeoplehate (RIP), you automatically get banned from other subs. I know I'm banned from a few subs under such circumstances.

I completely missed that thread and it makes me said.

One more reason to be ashamed of the school I attended.

Eh. This is just reiterating what I've thought for a while. From a cultural standpoint; a woman is who you are, but a man is who you become. I think that's the underlying assumption many people miss.

I think it's also worthy to look at dangerous jobs or otherwise non STEM jobs. Many if mot most are male dominated fields.

This is why calling a nice chunk of the electorate a basket of deplorables and then doubling down is a bad idea.

You're not a feminist, that's clear. Do you subscribe to any of the popular ideologies?

Not all states recognize common law marriages, if I recall correctly.
/r/MensRights04/09/15 04:23 PM

In the US marriage licenses issues by the states exist and there are certain legal benefits to being married, so it very much is a legal thing. If it wasn't a legal thing, I doubt marriage would have been such a hotbed issue.

I'm also curious as to the company names as I'd be wary of other controversial stances they might take.

Exactly. Unfortunately expecting some boys and men to be emotionless is a thing.

When I first saw this about a week ago, I was upset. He's a upper class white man who while he mighthave worked hard (which is commendable to a degree), there are types of discrimination that he has and never will face. I place this in the same bin that I place HeforShe and LeanInTogether. TO me they are movements that attempt to address certain injustices against women (some of which that I think are valid), but make no attempt at addressing men's issues. So to me it's more or less white knight…

I live in Silicon Valley (eg: Google, Apple, Ebay, Netflix, etc...) and while it's not common I have seen it a few times and I'm not one to go to clubs or bars, so I'm fairly certain it wasn't just a bit of drunken stupidity (though I do feel that people need to be responsible for their own actions while intoxicated).

That happened to me when I was older, as they were worried I would be picked on.

I get that. And of course there in lies the rub. A smaller man hits a bigger one, you know you'll get your ass kicked and there will be no sympathy. I suppose I'm forever left wondering why there is outrage when a man hits back and if it has to do with the difference in how we are raised.
/r/PussyPassDenied02/04/15 02:45 PM

This is shows what confuses me about how people are raised. As men we are generally taught not to hit anyone, but girls seem not to be taught that. Or it's somehow justified saying that women are weaker.

There would be an outcry as the male teacher would most likely be seen as a monster and the girl seen a a victim.

Rest in Peace Levai. Now that said, imagine if a man did that to his child. You don't even have to go as far as imagine if a man did that to an adult woman. A father who did this would be locked up for life easily.

Yes and no. The fact that the leading statement is where men are being framed as potential abusers is telling. Men being abused is almost being used as a cutesy aside.

That is pretty messed up. I know a lot of stuff gets reported, though I haven't read most of the posts that are reported.

I realize that and evidently the same person admins/owns both AskFeminists and Feminism and he's been accused of being essentially a closeted MRA or being in the very least too friendly to men or MRA sympathizers. For what it's worth I haven't looked into it, but i do agree that I'd like a place where the dialogue is open and we all, no matter what we call ourselves can air our grievances and then come to some solutions or compromises. It's hard and messy, but I hope it comes to pass some day.

I've heard almost the opposite where it is fairly pro MRA.

Of the existing subs /r/FeMRADebates is where I'd go, though it has been argued that it is a place where Feminists are more or less brigaded. I'm interested as to how you plan to go forward because in the discussion it seems that debate on issues such as gender rights will illicit debate almost inevitably.

What terms are we talking about? Or what's the context? You've given no further information so it's hard to form a coherent response.

This is where the MRM and some feminists differ. Some people believe that the dictiionary definition is true and is what is in practice, the MRM, to put it lightly, sees a gap that leaves out men's issues, among other things.
/r/MensRights16/02/15 09:14 PM

For what it's worth, one of the larger differences I see between this sub and the primary feminism sub is that it is more friendly to critiques of the MRM. To me the primary feminism sub and it's related askfeminists seem to act or operate more like safe space/echo chamber (though this sub can be guilty of that as well). I will admit that I did see a decent thread eliminated, but was archived by a mod on the ask forum. But to be honest, I'm somewhat conflicted. the inherent need for a safe space…

I have to wonder how long the female equivalent would be allowed to stay up. My guess is not long.

Honestly, I think that's how contemprary first world feminism is. As a minority (Taiwanese American), I have tried to ask myself what does equality mean to me, even though I don't think it's there yet.
/r/MensRights26/01/15 09:12 PM

The gender neutral argument, and supposedly feminist, one should be that people should not hit people it doesn't matter what he gender combination is. The issue is that the reverse arrangement would never be asked and even if it was, if any of the girls hit the boys, there would be no discussion about why. But let's get to your point. What doeds "being a man" mean to you. If you're a feminist, that goes into toxic masculinity. But then, what does being a woman mean? Like the others I don't think…

For what it's worth, this has now been posted on /r/Feminism and I'll be interested to see how it is received over there.

That's a wonderful article that in the very least highlights a huge blindspot in the white, cis, blah blah blah feminist movement.

Post this on /r/bannedfeminists as well. I'd love to see what they say say about it. While I'm not banned on any of the feminist subs (not that I know about anyway), it's discouraging that they do not a tleast want to create a dialogue.

Even in the era of equal rights (or the push for it anyway) you'll have obstacles like this. How sad.

That "article" isn't about Men's Rights at all and you're grasping at straws. I want justice for men, but this is one of the reasons why some don't take it seriously.

I can see where you're coming from, but that is the type of picture that can easily go viral and thereby adopt a broader context. I think that this topic is addressing it in that context.
/r/MensRights21/11/14 09:11 PM

You make a fair point, so in your opnion what does it mean to be a man and in a similar vein, what do you think it means to be a woman?
/r/MensRights21/11/14 08:54 PM
5

Pretty much. Just in general it's hard for many people to see that there can be several things going on at once and be equally as important (more or less). The fact that we are bringing up mens issues does not necessarily mean we are trying to undermine women's issues and I think people have a basic problem understanding that. It doesn't help that it also runs counter to the typical male ideal that we are strong and that just can't have these types of issues.

That's just assinine given that murders are given due process and I bet that the author has little issue over that.

While I appreciate the irony, many items (if not most) of clothing that people buy are produced under a similar situation.

To be honest, I think that's true of both sexes, though in light of recent events, that's definitely worth mentioning.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I was taught never to hit people, man or woman. That said i was warned that if it did happen, to prepare for the worst. As a sidenote, I am a man, but am disabled and as a consequence I am weaker than an average male. I suppose I'm in the minority, but I know many women and men who are physically stronger than me woudl could easily cause me bodily harm with their hands and feet.
/r/MensRights31/10/14 08:17 PM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
