Lift. Do you mean that as building muscle anyway at all; using gym machines; or rather the very strict just lift weights.

With 'it is not the question' he says it's not the main issue. the main issue is that men and women are different. Once you acknowledge that, some things follow from that. He's telling her to not get so stuck on inferiority issue and see the bigger thing; the difference between genders. He repeats that elsewhere telling her not to create a false reaility. And I guess also that subordination is not the same as inferiority.
