It is downright fucking infuriating when they revert to an attention-deprived toddler state. Especially if their demands are counter-productive to either your or your family's well being. (WISNIFG!) It's like when my kids are acting up and during a post-discipline debrief, I have to admit that I don't want to yell at/punish them, but what they're doing is unacceptable.

Exactly. I'd put money down that she's not some integral part of one or more of your other friendships, so there's no strong need to invite her (like a grandparent around which the family unit orbits). And if not inviting her might cause tension elsewhere in your social circle, it might be time to reexamine how important those relationships are to keep in good standing.

I either smirk or sigh as if to say "...really?"

Even if/when this happens, they still do it! About half the time, Mrs. PM_MEYourFavBodyPart will recognize when she's spouting some nonsense ("talk like a sausage" as my old man always says), admit it ("ok, hear me out..."), and the proceed to make a request/assertion/whatever.

My sentiments exactly. Women rarely think far enough ahead logically to understand what their current feels will have wrought. It's chiefly when consequences are effected (and held to, not removed or diminished by emotional pleas) that they take notice of their crappy behavior. The silence and kiss (affection in spite of the verbal vitriol) before leaving for work is a start, and might be the best option given the shark week circumstances, but it's combo shit tests like this that deserve a more …

Lol'ed hard at this line. And yes, most certainly a cry for one of women's two primary wants: attention and validation.

alfa ... psichology ... alot Kudos to you for taking action, but you need to include "improve grammar" in your planning.

Glad to hear from someone looking at this from a different angle. I agree with you that she was not fulfilling the role of First Mate, though this level of bitchiness is not the norm for her. Not to make excuses, but I have been cutting her a little slack as of late. She's been dealing with some semi-debilitating allergy issues and is also in the second trimester with our 4th. With all that being said, I'm still a work-in-progress and by no means am going to sit back and just hang my hat on this…

it will all be fine, even if it isn't Women are rarely able to remind themselves of just that. I find this to be one of the biggest and most frequent struggles of married/LTR RP when both parties are committed to the relationship...managing uncertainty. Most of my RP exercises consist of doing what I can to deal with situations that would otherwise cause anxiety (both warranted and unnecessary).

Maybe see a doctor and have your testosterone levels checked. And by MD, I mean someone with a good grasp of hormone treatment (endocrinologist). Story time: I know a lawyer in his late 50's who told me about how in his 30s he all of a sudden up and started feeling shitty with no explanation. After a bunch of personal research and a few dead-end Dr. visits, he sought out a specialist who ID'd that he needed testosterone shots. This guy (the lawyer) came from a family of super high-T men (hairy, …

Seconded on the point about anger. I've found that I'm vastly more productive on the days I'm angry. Lukewarmness is a bitch.

Thanks for the insight. Briffault's Law makes lots of sense and is probably the case here. I just wonder why she hasn't made the move to someone else. (And for the record, despite her moderately higher SMV, she's screwed up just the same. I've digested enough red pill to condition myself to ignore the pedestal.)
