I’m 18 😅, although in this context I’m not exactly proud that I’m 18 yet I still have no fucking clue what I’m doing

Thanks for the advice - this is exactly what I was hoping to not hear, and as much as I hate to admit it, you are definitely correct. As much as I would love to lie to myself and pretend that I have the guts to do what you are suggesting, I know that this is not the case. Honestly, this won’t be a happy ending, and will be yet another example in my long list of reasons to “grow a pair”. I’ll try my best to take your advice, but I can’t guarantee anything lol Thanks for the feedback 👍 (And yeah, …

All these questions making me feel like I’m next to a therapist. I don’t think it’s morally wrong. It’s just not something I want to do. For example, plenty of people would consider themselves in support for legal weed, but it’s just not something they themselves want to do. Same idea. IF (not necessarily WHY) she feels this way, my guess would be that for some reason respect is mutually exclusive from making the first move? And that they are opposites? For example, waiting to eat your meal unti…

Whether it is or isn’t morally wrong to use someone, I believe that it is something that I personally don’t want to do. Why does she believe that not making a move is “respecting her”? I’m not quite sure. I personally wouldn’t think they are opposites. Maybe I’m wrong about that? I’m not sure.

That’s really counterintuitive, (the I don’t have to kiss her) quite the opposite to what I was thinking - but I like it. Because it is true “I don’t HAVE to kiss her” it makes the next date seem less like an impending stress count down clock and more like a date

I guess it can be boiled down to two reasons. One of which is my fear of making an action that is seen as wrong. Although after seeing people’s responses here, it seems quite obvious that yes, kissing her was the right move, there is also the chance that I was wrong in my interpretations of her language, and that kissing her was the wrong move. I am definitely terrified of the idea of using someone, as I know that morally, that’s not who I am or who I want to be as a person. I’m not asking for a…

There is nothing worse than knowing someone’s opinion makes sense and that you agree with it - but you know you won’t be able to follow through lol

Thanks for the input - I’m in my late teens, so hopefully I’ve got a little bit of leeway here. From what most comments seem to be alluding to, physical contact is a good way of establishing attraction, especially if it’s obvious she likes me

Thanks for the response, definitely brings the bigger picture into the conversation

I don’t know if it’s quite that I’m afraid of disrespecting her - as I said I knew in the back of my mind that she was probably hinting at it. I feel more of my lack of ability to “make the first move” or be comfortable in control of a situation might be more to blame

Trust me - I knew what Chad would have done, even in the moment, but I just couldn’t bring myself to it lol

Yeah - I live in my head too much (Hence the posting on reddit for advice lol) But thanks for the advice. The general consensus appears to be confidence - out of all the things to lack, confidence seems hard to gain. You can’t earn it, buy it, or study it. I guess it’s one of those things you acquire through your experiences.

So I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that texting her that night “Sorry I was so awkward dropping you off, I had a great night” was the wrong move huh :/ Thanks for the input though :)

Yeah haha that’s probably not a terrible idea

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
