You don't need much as a single man. Most of the reason why people buy stuff is to increase their social status among their peers, usually with the goal of getting more attention/approval from females. I'd still have some savings though, never know when you need some money for an emergency. That said, many people do legitimately enjoy building a business. For a woman 20 is about the right age to marry. But for a man it's closer to 30. However in the West, if you're a man (especially with money), then there's a high chance you're going to be screwed in marriage. Also I'd say the government is the real husband, because it has all the authority. You're more like a caretaker or a sponsor as a husband. Basically you get responsibility without authority. I'm not against the concept of marriage but men really need a much better deal for it to be viable.

Then explain why they still expect you to pay for the date, or buy them drinks or whatever? I have never done that with a non-prostitute. Most I paid was a packet of $1 noodles.
