What about puzzles? Are those inherently hostile? Take composed chess problems for example. Chess is a competitive game, but in composed problems the composer creates a challenge and the solver solves them. The people I know who create and solve chess puzzles care about very different things (elegance, beauty, subtly, humor, pattern). Or what about those impossible jigsaw puzzles? Stave Puzzles comes to mind, they supposedly have puzzles that go together various ways that seem correct until the …

Sure. How about we just say ~whatever~ to this pointless semantics and you skip to your point? If I see a wolf and a human, I know which of the two is a person. And I assume you do too. So why does this matter? Would you treat a wolf the same way you would treat your husband? Why or why not? They're both animals.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/17 08:51 PM

Most people don't mate with animals. Interpret as you will.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/17 08:36 PM

Sure. What I mean is that "homo sapiens sapiens" and "animalia not homo sapiens sapiens" are different things even though homo sapiens sapiens are animalia. I'm not sure what's so interesting to you about it so I can't help there. To me this seems like one of those arguments about whether tomatoes are vegetables or fruit.

Species boundaries are tricky. Let me know what you find out. Also let me know if you manage to get pregnant by a captive wolf.

In terms of human civilization, animals and people are generally considered to be not the same thing. To the point that I think the burden of proof lies on people bringing in non-human behavior to justify its relevance.

"Civilization" is captivity and we have been undergoing a long incomplete auto domestication process since agriculture and citification Yes, progress has outpaced evolution. What that indicates is that we have evolved to be very adaptive creatures. In large part that is because we rely heavily on transmission of learned behavior from generation to generation rather than genetics. "English" and "reading" and "language" and "math" are not coded into our DNA. No one has ever been simply applying th…

Insert the part where you pretend you need a dictionary to lookup the word satire. This is the quality of "debate" on this sub. Not impressed.

I'd like to know why you would give different answers to TBP and PPD to sincere questions? Particularly when you say you were under the impression that you were in PPD and not TBP? The implication is you routinely shitpost in a "debate" sub and run away like a spooked sow when even remotely challenged.

This is the top level comment you made /r/TheBluePill/comments/6uakqw/is_there_anyone_here_who_used_to_really_truly/dlroxf4/ And in that thread you said to get responses in PPD.

But like how did you make that mistake? You posted a top level comment. If you thought you were posting in PPD doesn't that mean you wanted to engage is some sort of debate as per the PPD sidebar directives? Or do you just come to PPD for the shitposts and circlejerks?

Neither can I be "Blue Pill" because fantasy relationships are extremely rare, if not impossible, nor are they realistic most of the time. It's difficult to balance the two, because if you're too much one or the other, you still lose. Also, still relevant, people who are too Blue Pilled have a tendency to get taken advantage of, or have others walk all over them, and, yeah, I'm not going to be that guy. Not to point out the obvious but, like, The Red Pill doesn't have exclusivity on self-help an…

There are subs that will secretly have all your comments automatically removed as "spam" without notice (confusingly people call this a shadowban but reddit's actual shadowban is different and will make you invisible to all subs). For example apparently TwoXChromosomes had been doing this for some time and recently converted their shadowban list to real bans. People received ban notices and couldn't figure out why and moderators would just notify them they'd already been secretly banned for year…

FeMRADebates does this very transparently. They have some sort of a bot and you can browse each moderator's activity. See the bottom of their sidebar for links to each moderator's deleted comments threads (example). Discussions about deletions also take place in public. There's also an automated reputation system with ban tiers it ties into.

Ok, so yeah, it could be a giant conspiracy. Let me offer a slightly different explanation. Let's set the scene. Your daughter comes to you distraught: Daughter: My husband is abusing me. I don't know what to do. Help. You: You're a liar. You: You're abusive. You: You probably deserve it. You: The possibilities are endless. It's just not the right place or time to be having that conversation.

Sorry you misunderstood. He stated "racism" is "the scientific method applied to human beings". This is a semantic definition. What he wrote means that using the scientific method to generate knowledge about human beings is identical to racism. This means that evidence of the use of scientific method is both necessary and sufficient to identify racism. That's absurd. That's just the words he wrote as I understand English. What he actually meant by selecting those words and placing them in that s…

One of the big things that got to me was the overwhelming fear that it's not fine to not be a part of it. It's not what drew me there at all, but it's terrifying. So, yes I'd say I felt left out of it, but it's because they insist that all your problems are because you are not a part of it. I personally know that I never made any effort to go out and party so I don't blame anyone except myself about that. But I'm also back to not giving a shit. /r/PurplePillDebate13/03/17 05:05 PM

Yeah, I agree. I don't think men aspire to be "not rapists" if you know what I mean? It would be much more effective if we "teach men to have fun sex" or something. But that's not sufficiently puritanical.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/03/17 05:01 PM

It's been a while since I read it but my memory is that the article that's talking about doesn't really lay out the discrepancy between 31.7% (would force) and 13.6% (would rape) as a gap that can be closed by education, though. I think the paper was contextualizing it as a semantic problem with the reach of the word "rape" in the study population.* IIRC my favorite part of that study was something like one subject who reported they would rape but not use force and who was therefore excluded as …

There are no reliable tests to distinguish between the slow and aggressive forms and treatment is barbaric. It's also not easy to, say, check your prostate for lumps or monitor it for changes. Any sort of argument you make for ignoring prostate cancer on the basis that diseases that affect both men and women are more clinically relevant can be just as easily applied to breast cancer. The reason MRA focus on it is because of the disproportionate funding disparity: https://www.cancer.org/research/…

https://www.cdc.gov/cancer/dcpc/data/men.htm Edit: I mean, you're technically correct that breast cancer is higher than prostate cancer in both incidence (123.7 vs 101.6 per 100,000) and mortality (20.7 vs 19.2 per 100,000). But the difference is nowhere near as dramatic as you make it out to be.

Who says anybody hates anyone? Many of the deadbedrooms posters are otherwise entirely satisfied and fulfilled (and some are... not). I don't know what your relationship is but try to imagine you're married raising kids and then somehow nothing changes except there's just no sex. And that for whatever reason your partner isn't bothered by this. The question is how important is sex to you?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/16 09:58 PM
1

You say it "will be much worse" but for many it's still going to be some form of pursuing full-time relationships, while co-parenting, paying child support, paying alimony, etc. It's not at all obvious to me that's even remotely likely to be worse than occasionally engaging a sex worker or finding some NSA strange on work trips.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/16 09:31 PM
1

That assumes that continuing a deadbedroom (but with access to an affair partner) is as bad as divorce. Both for the cheater and for all parties involved. You'll have to convince me of that because it's not black and white. To the extent that the downsides of both options are essentially the same, I think there's a strong argument that choosing the option that guarantees the downside is not rational.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/16 09:02 PM
2

A spouse who cheats after years of deadbedroom is unsympathetic? I'm skeptical that a spouse who refuses to put in effort to reconcile a deadbedroom is going to be any more amicable one way or the other. But then again I also am of the opinion that divorce attorneys know well how to emotionally abuse clients and judges.

Do you think PoC have any chance to modify white culture nearly as effectively as whites can? They can point out how we cause suffering, but we'll always understand how our culture works more instinctively. It's not about the act, it's about who is the actor and who is the target. It's not the actions that makes it misogyny. The actions make it abuse. Abuse that targets women is misogyny. Dread within the context of the sidebar it is misogyny. Rule 0: male sexual strategy Sidebar specifically instructs use by men on women Intent is sexual coercion/subjugation of women by men In determining whether dread as advocated by TRP is objectionable outside TRP, it must be evaluated in terms of feminism. The methods described are considered to be misogyny within feminism. Your ignorance of feminism is not relevant.

I have already explained that it is dehumanizing and oppressive to reduce women to sex objects. Oppression of women is misogyny. Let's assume TRP is for gay men. No. Because it's not. You're playing a stupid semantic game with the goal of redefining symbols to mismatch meanings. You are negating rule zero. TRP is fundamentally about male sexual entitlement to women. They advise to use dread game on male partners. Is it now misandry? Semantics applied to not-TRP don't apply to TRP. It's irrelevan…

No, it's objectively misogyny. You're just trying to normalize it. Dread game is deliberate. Attachment issues are common for all people. Anyone who deliberately exploits them is an abusive asshole. Yes, abusive women do exist. Yes, men can introspect and realize they do dumb things for women because they have unresolved attachment issues. That doesn't mean abuse is acceptable. Abuse is unacceptable. The fact that TRP does not advise women to abuse men means that what you are claiming as an exam…

Like I said It depends on what you are talking about when you say "dread game" because it's such an amorphous blob. Abuse is abuse. TRP does advocate for men to abuse women under the guise of "dread game" and yes, that is misogyny. I have not read where TRP advocates for women to abuse men. Do you have a relevant sidebar link?

Solid choice but vague. That's a complicated one with parts that are BP acceptable and parts that are misogyny. Particularly since BPP has used a slippery slope to label basic self-care "dread". A lot of what passes as "dread" is not objectionable. Caring about your own health, appearance, posture, mental health, confidence, self-respect, self-care, not being needy, etc. Nobody objects to this. The concept of dread in PUA is to exploit attachment anxieties in women in order to manipulate them in…

The issue here is to provide a definition of blue pill. I don't care what anything seems. I care about definitions. Or cite sidebar material that is both not misogynistic and is rejected by "BP".

Red pill's idea of recognizing the differences is that women are inferior and are dependent on man. Depends on the camp, but feminism to me is fundamentally about women's liberation from sexist oppression.

My definition of misogyny is primarily based on reading books by Dworkin and Stoltenberg. But also feminist blogs, subreddits and discussions with feminists. Don't be afraid of Dworkin.

No. A person following RP advice with the misogyny deleted will be accepted within feminism. That's not the same thing as saying that any person following non-RP advice can just add misogyny and will be considered RP. There are also non-RP misogynists. The real question here is the precise definition of BP vs RP vs PP.

How do I decide if I'm red pill or blue pill? Have you played with the Venn diagram much? Have you figured out that the only thing that's red but not blue is misogyny?

Think what you want. Our cohorts are 20 years apart. You're more likely to know what today's 19yo find fashionable and attractive. Younger him wasn't trying to appeal to today's 19yo.

His younger picture looks would have been considered hotter when I was young. I'm pretty sure what's considered hot in 2016 is different from 1996. Longitudinal evidence isn't useful. You would have to ask the women who were 19etc at the time.

Ok, we'll I'm 39. I remember when these people first became heartthrobs and this all seems easy to explain as preselection. Celebrities aren't a good gage for real life. These people also have managers and image consultants.

You know maybe it's generational but I can't really say I knew any girls who hung posters of old men on their walls or gushed and twittered over them? River Phoenix and such were not 35 in the late 80's. Depp was on their walls in the early '90s. Ditto with Timberlake, he was first considered hot in the mid 90's. He's not suddenly hot now.

No, I'm saying that based on my knowledge of biology and genetics your claims are extraordinary, and your extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. This is Occam's razor. Feminism represents reactions to the same forces that cause misery, but TRP and the manosphere have misidentified feminism as the source of the misery. Where previously men relied on women as human shields to protect themselves from misery, now they are directly exposed. The misery should be dealt with directly.

Knowledge of the threat unified masses pose to the elite goes back millennia. Sowing discord is a long established tactic. The fact that TRP benefits the elite is all that matters for them to encourage its growth. Particularly given the threat interconnection and freedoms provided by the internet poses.

.... You're saying that because TRP believes it's women's nature to torture men, that somehow TRP does not blame women for men's suffering? But you'll have to be more specific about what you're seeing and who you're defining as industrialists Read the linked PDF in my OP. It's pretty clear about all of this.

Of course there are always exceptions. Mutations in vestigial genes are not selected against and depending on how precisely they are coded it can take quite a while for them to drift. The theory about hiccups is a good example.

They are core theory items from the TRP sidebar canon. They are relevant to this post because they place significant blame for men's suffering on women. They are relevant to your comment because they also have nothing to do with sexual strategy. It follows that blaming women for men's suffering is core tenet of TRP.

What part of knowing that something is unresolved science makes you think I'm stupid enough to try and prove anything? I already mentioned that you're veering into the pragmatically unprovable. If you want to read something that I think will help you understand what's wrong here start with the works of Karl Popper and understand why falsification is necessary. You came with a theory and are unable to defend it against even the most basic criticism taught in something like introduction to neuroscience research. Where the defense of your theory currently stands is: (1) the burden of proof is obviously on you as you've offered the theory (2) you do not dispute the legitimacy of the criticism (3) the criticism is fatal to your argument. "We don't know" is quite a bit weaker than "No, they aren't. That much is fact." The appeal to ignorance fallacy probabl…

Trick question: Do you understand why "male brain" and "female brain" in quotes in your excerpt? Look, you can try to play the Nature vs Nurture game about the brain all you want, but it is completely unresolved science. If you plop a brain down in front of a pathologist they can't actually tell you the gender or the sexual orientation or race or whatever with any degree of accuracy. You certainly can't show what aspects of brain structure are a result of genetics vs use. There is a capacity the…

No, they aren't. That much is fact. Men are physically stronger, women are more socially intelligent. Men evolved to be physically stronger and more spatially aware in order to hunt and track, and women evolved to be social animals that kept society together (familial bonds). Citation needed. The brain is extremely plastic. Hang out with neurosurgeons. Coding this sort of thing in a sex-based way is extremely slow and wasteful. It makes no sense. I'm asking you (the TRP expert) to show me evidence of an in-between in the TRP canon. TRP canon blaming women for men's suffering is trivial to find. Just show me where TRP disowns that portion of its own canon. You're the one asserting its existence.

Your questions are off topic to whether or not TRP's teachings blame women for men's suffering. You don't have to be a feminist to find virtues in feminism. I'm just asking you to present some TRP / feminism intersection. Should be simple. There are oodles of posts / sidebar materials blaming feminists and women. If blaming women for men's suffering is not a TRP tennet (as you're asserting from your position of ignorance), just find a post from the leadership that corrects my perception. TRP uses "swallowing the red pill" as a metaphor to describe waking up to the reality that men's suffering is a result of unjust manipulations and lies that benefit women at their expense. That this destruction of the "good old days" is a result and goal of feminism. In fact these changes can be traced back to the masculinity crisis that was caused by the Industrial Revolution and it's devaluation of men and the systematic destruction of family life that were necessary to mobilize and indoctrina…
