I would probably join voluntarily if it came to that. What I don't like is how slanted it is against men. We don't have some basic rights that are given to women. We receive the privileges in exchange for (potentially) signing our life away.

Yes. In the casual ama sub, a woman posted "I am a black woman, AMA". She made several racist comments, including singling out a certain race and claiming they should never do a certain thing, that is something only her race should be able to do. I called her out on her obvious racism and she replied "ok".

I believe it has been elevated to that height due to religion. 77% of Americans identify as Christian( http://www.gallup.com/poll/159548/identify-christian.aspx) and that religion (as with most major religions) puts an extremely heavy emphasis on women being "pure". I think it is elevated so high due to a deeply rooted history of Christianity in American society. My 2¢. Edit: source
