Most of my activities are outdoors. I tend to meet women thru apps, so I would post on my profile how I was in to running, hiking, mountain climbing, tennis and kayaking (always pointed out that I had two if anyone wanted to go along). Then I'd point out my love of international adventure travel, which always had good stories to go with it that they always wanted to hear about. I also had some more "cerebral" indoor pursuits like guitar, painting, ceramics, glasswork, and bronze casting sculptur…

Very true, and I think that's often not taken in to account. I've matched with and dated some women in their late 30s even and the "flake" factor definitely goes up quickly the younger they are. Maybe it's the same for men as well, I don't know.

In my case, I've not experienced that at all. I don't know exactly what "conventionally" attractive is by definition, but I'm a 50 yo male who is probably a 6/10 at this stage in life. I get tons of dates (6 - 7s) thru OLD and have started many long-term relationships there over the past 20 years, including my former marriage. Do I get the occasional ghosting? Yep, it's part of the game when it comes to OLD, but it's a rare occurrence.

I would disagree with you on #2. I'm 50 years old, been fully gray since my 30s, dark circles and bags under my eyes, and despite staying in good cardio shape, working on a beer gut. I think I'm a solid 6, might have been a 7 twenty years ago if I'm being generous to myself. And yet I've never had problems with online dating. I can have 3-4 dates a week lined up if I'm not being overly picky. I believe I pull it off because I have an interesting profile, good photos showing me doing fun stuff, a…

Hey, at least you she admitted her age and you got out of there. My best friend picked up a woman at a bar when we were in our late 20s. They started dating and were sleeping together pretty quickly. That was until her dad showed up at his apartment with a baseball bat. She was 16. They got to talking and it turned out the daughter had been using a fake ID to get in to bars. Dad was pretty understanding given the circumstances and said he'd deal with his daughter at home. At least my buddy didn'…
