Not terribly mature i think. Sure it happens all the time to both men and women, who knows which gender cops it harder (i think men but neither of us could quantify it). But just because some people fall victim to nasty treatment doesnt excuse treating other people badly. As i said it was probably written in a biased way and the author is likely to be misrepresenting how this dude acted but if she isnt, he sounds like he delivered a harsh truth too bluntly given how it may have made her feel.

Very often these things are not written objectively but as a way to vent about something. Honestly i can agree with the most of the assessments made here but if we are to take this article at its word, it does sound like this guy layed this truth on her pretty harshly.

After reading articles that try and justify how all men are necrophiliacs and that all consensual sex is rape and that the male population should be reduced from 49% to 1-10% this comes as no surprise at all.

what exactly are you referring to when you say "SRS"? Is it all subscribers to that sub? is there some organisation of people your referring to more specifically?

Absolutely not, what part of my reply gave you the impression that i think somebody cannot have malicious intent? I agree that a persons laugh can tell alot but its not reasonable to assume anything from just listening to them laugh. Without knowing whats being said across the phone its impossible to know what exactly is behind the laugh. To assume so to me indicates that there is a bias that needs to be looked at.
/r/MensRights20/12/12 02:26 AM

And so much of the time when they do manage to laugh, it's always that 'cackle' like a witch, like when they're talking on their cell phones - and you know it's about someone they fucked over or someone getting fucked over. This comment gives me the impression you have a bias your not taking into account. I'm not saying your observation is wrong but your assumption that them "cackling like a witch" indicates they have fucked someone over of find the misfortune of others funny is not indicative o…

No hes not right. theres no point sitting in a circle agreeing with each other. Debating with opposing opinions helps strengthen or hone your own. It would be better to talk with them and even better if everybody stopped taking chunks out of each other like this guy. It only serves to separate the two groups further

I think its worse than an excuse it actually encourages them to take liberties of the rest of us. They get to be tax free institutions, the big wigs up the top have thier back if they break any laws, they get away with anything they want and all because of polite atheists who just dont want to offend anyone. Stuff like this really grinds my gears

After months of wrangling, last week the Bundestag finally agreed a law that permits unnecessary circumcision only under clinical conditions, by trained professionals and with anaesthetic. This should be the bare minimum required in any civilised society. Of course for some ethnic and religious communities, notably Jewish and Muslim, circumcision is steeped in religious and cultural significance. This must be acknowledged and respected. I have a huge problem with this. Why must these practices b…

Your exactly right it does totally trivialise rape, i wonder if they know how offensive that is to people who got proper raped. Calling it the same thing is just inconsiderate. Also i highly reccomend watching every bond movie in sequence. they are genuinely awesome with the exeption of the george lazenby one and they make the recent daniel craig trilogy make heaps more sense. but trigger warning :P hes a dirty rapist come roger moore movies.
/r/MensRights14/12/12 03:47 AM
2

oh really??? what's their deal? he didn't rape anyone in that. Sure he totally boned 2 megababes but they were into it. Now Roger Moore. He was a massive rapist. All in a gunfight with some evil bird, shes totally trying to kill him. He kicks her gun out of her hand and lays one on her, she fights, still trying to kill him. He keeps kissing her until she realises the futility of her fighting and jsut gives in. Its no chloroform in a back alley rape but its pretty rapey.
/r/MensRights14/12/12 03:22 AM

You should hear them talk about James Bond. I think rape culture is a pile of shit for the record but in thier defence, james bond was a massive rapist. He seriously raped like 3-4 women over the course of the older movies. Kind of a shame as well because he was the ultimate man and a role model for many.

Ok so obviously she is angry and exaggerating and using inflammatory language but everything she said must have come from somewhere. Now that somewhere might be hearsay or misinterpretation but must be nutbags in the MRA movement just like there are in the femininst movement so it seems somewhat plausible that some of these gripes have a basing in reality. So serious question here because at leas I find it pretty difficult to see through the fog of exaggeration. Exactly how much of this movement…

/r/MensRights13/12/12 11:26 PM

Thats not what i meant. I see heaps and heaps of examples of stuff that is not debating but just bickering like idiots. Taking the worst elements of the opposition and just making fun of them with blanket statements about the whole opposition for example. Both sides do it all the time and its ridiculous. What you said wasnt a great example of this but still it doesnt help.
/r/MensRights12/12/12 09:10 PM

Why would any good or reasonable person think its a good idea to bicker like an idiot with your opponents?? I dont understand what you hope to achieve.
/r/MensRights12/12/12 03:58 AM

but you fight them. I know it can be like slamming your dick in a car door but you are never going to actually get anywhere unless you try and change their minds without insulting them or fuelling their anger.
/r/MensRights12/12/12 02:44 AM

thats not what im saying. Sure you CAN fight them (and by fight i mean bicker like children) but you SHOULDN'T fight them because it re-enforces all that stupid shit they say.

Look i guess im just trying to stay positive here. I dont think that deciding they are all mindless enemies bent on destruction actually helps anyone, they are after all, people. I think its far far far more likely that the majority are mislead or angry about something they have been mislead to believe. Its hard to get through to them, nearly impossible on the internet but i have spent many years figuring out how best to change people mind about stuff and had my best results when i relate to the…

Its the blanket statement i have a problem with, there are good people out thier fighting what they think is the good fight and are genuinely interested in having good discussions on the matter. Sure its hard to find them in the haystack of those your describing but they are not irrelivant they are just lost. Statements like yours make it harder to find them because it gives ammo to those who would brainwash them. Im at work ill have to watch the clips later

Im glad to hear others actually think this way, we are two halves to a whole. For everything that a man does better than a woman, there is something of equal value that a woman does better than a man. This effects every part of the equality equation.
/r/MensRights11/12/12 10:59 PM

I think what you identify yourself as is less important than what you stand for and how you understand things. I am pretty new to the epic war that is gender equality but its become bleedingly obvious to me very quickly that both sides idealogicaly want the same thing they just see the same goal through different lenses.
/r/MensRights11/12/12 10:54 PM
1

Although i have met and argued with several people like that i dont think its reasonable to say they are all like that. Is it possible that they simply dont know the other side? Or that they have not had it explained in the way they need to hear it?
/r/MensRights11/12/12 09:51 PM
1

they may be opposite sides of the gender coin but they claim they want equality which SHOULD mean they are fighting for the middle. Assuming the MRM is doing the same then thier goals are fundamentally the same and they dont have to be at odds.

a good outlook, and sure its certainly more productive to just get over it and move on but it get so so so much more complicated than that and you can be so harsh as you were in your first post. That harshness is what promotes this idea that you should just get real pissed and fight someone to feel better. Its BS and should stop.

Well i know that there are some absolutely ridiculous opinions of rape. I read a bunch of stuff from rad fem hub that said all consensual male on female sex was rape and even some retarded essay on how all men are necrophiliacs of all things but never have i heard that a man could rape a woman without actually touching her.

I dont agree, its only deluded boys who are trying to force manhood on themselves that cause this. When a male is self-conscious about his mannlyness its common for them to project that onto other people by shaming them for not being manly enough. Im a dude and although i have had people try and shame me for being upset, all the most masculine people i know have never done so. Now they arent giving me hugs and handing me tissues while i cry to them for hours but they are there for me the way men…

Wouldn't that be egalitarianism? Well yes from my understanding but at least from what i have seen the core feminist ideals are aiming at that. That is what they all claim they are aiming at but they like the word feminism for some reason. This is however only what they say, i have a theory that they WANT true equality (which would be an egalitarian venture) but they dont understand it from anything but a woman's perspective. Because of this, despite what they want idealistically they are actual…

i need feminism because a man can rape without even laying a hand on a woman??? This is obviously as retarded as it sounds but does anyone know if this is a common belief or is that person just sniffing glue?

+1 Too much of that happens on both sides. If people would stop being such dicks about everything then femininsm and MR wouldnt be clashing so badly and maybe they would be able to work together.

This is why we need a male contraceptive pill or something, i once had a GF that i thought might have been trying to do that to me. I might have just been paranoid but i had heard about it happening before and it has actually a serious fear of mine. I have seen female painters a few times, i know 2 female builders and met one female stone mason of all things. There around and not THAT uncommon in construction at least in melbourne. When it comes to government employed road workers etc i have only ever seen them holding signs.

Doesnt the obviously biased wording of this poster ring bells in peoples heads? Im only kind of new to this epic war but i have seen on many occasions so far that feminists will winge and whine whenever a mens right advocate brings up a mens issue anywhere near a discussion about womens issues. This seems to happen even when its an issue that effects both sexes. Im not sure yet if it is just idiots causing this to happen or if its a genuine feminist attitude but MRAs are villified for smaller things than this. At least as far as i have seen.

Actually thats what we call bravery. Doing what needs to be done despite how afraid you are. There is also immense social pressure for men to throw themselves into a wall of bullets when the time comes and also to swallow that fear they most definitely felt. Perpetrated by men and women a like this social pressure was not ever applied to women at least in western countries. I think that you need to think a little bit harder about what you said.

Are you trying to make the point that generally women ARE less qualified than men? Too many people in life try and add credibility to what they say by adding "statistics show" for me to just believe you. Please add a link to the stats your referring to. (so i dont accidentally come off as having double standards, the incited stats referred to in Wrenz's post below i have actually seen already which is why i didnt ask for citation)
/r/MensRights18/11/12 11:38 PM

If i am correctly interpreting this post i agree with you on every point but the use of the word "qualifications". The word "Qualifications" to me speaks of thier abilities, education and experience rather than thier life choices. If i were you i would chose better phrasing next time as a topic like this is prone to people interpreting it as you just thinking women suck at stuff, which it seems you do not believe.
/r/MensRights18/11/12 11:31 PM

Well that's unfortunate but why add that? Do you think that your obviously limited experience is somehow a decent cross section of society? Do you think that generally women have lesser qualifications than men?

I can imagine the males being generally better in science fields being a factor. I mean if you had no other information on 2 identicle CVs but gender and you have to make a decision then i can see the male being selected more often. I dont think thats sexist, its just applying a generalisation which is based in fact. The visa versa would apply for a whole bunch of jobs im sure.

Well hang on, why do you think these are lies? Im not saying they are or are not and im certainly not a feminist and honestly find it really hard to believe that people might discriminate based on sex. Somebody could be offended by absolutely ANYTHING that anybody says. You cannot live your entire life in fear of offending people and tippytoeing around them. You might think this a reasonably topic to avoid offence on but where is the line? The easily offended should learn to keep away from things they find offensive or suck it up.
