womb turd Holy shit. I now have my new favorite word for babies.

It's not fair for her to assume she gets half of it just for being a glorified babysitter, either.

It could be as simple as measuring the rate in which the kids turned in completed homework. It does take more self-discipline to do something than it does not to...

Her son is going to hate college, because he's going to fail. When you're doing so bad in three classes that you're failing, DESPITE getting "95-125%" on every exam, that's not just a case of finding "busy work" slightly boring or uninteresting. That's a case of doing none of it whatsoever because you are putting absolutely zero value in any kind of work ethic. In college, just being 'innately' intelligent isn't enough.

Really? Is the vilification needed? I actually don't see a problem with this either way. If everyone understands the situation and is willing to participate, there's no issue.

No offense meant. I should know by now that r/MR isn't the place for light-heartedness.

It's pretty much been dis-proven that the wage gap is attributable to anything besides things like career path choices and maternal leave. Hopefully I worded that somewhat coherently.

What he meant was at this point in time "Having a child is clearly a woman's choice." and I don't believe he agrees with that stance.

Of course you could. One option doesn't preclude the other.

More importantly, some women are, and most of us don't find out until after they've already done something damaging.
/r/MensRights18/02/10 06:50 PM

As far as I can tell, you're completely right. You could go and date other women, without worrying about pregnancy, and if you get the feeling that they want to get more serious you can tell them you're sterile and apparently there's a good chance they'll 'run'.

Ideally I think it would be best for the woman to take her pill, the man to get his shot, and everyone gets actual, complete peace of mind. But I'm sorry to hear the pill gives you crazy-time, I can't imagine how frustrating that would be. The article even said the shot made some guys spotty(?) and grumpy, but I'm pretty grumpy all the time anyway, so I dunno how much worse it could be.

You reveal a pretty hopelessly narrow viewpoint anytime you exclaim that THIS [one facet of a huge] issue is the cornerstone of all the problems pertaining to [said huge issue].

I was referring to the beginning of a relationship, not one that already has a solid foundation. Yes, I expect the worst until a potential girlfriend has shown that she doesn't have those very seriously negative qualities.
/r/MensRights06/01/10 10:09 PM

Well, from this male's perspective, it's better to expect the worse and be pleasantly surprised or at least be prepared than it is to do the opposite and be used and abused.
/r/MensRights06/01/10 02:29 PM

Except I've heard 'grow up' and 'act like you're an adult' quite often as well, and both fit better in your context.
/r/MensRights05/01/10 06:33 PM

Well why didn't you say all this in the first place? Not only is she admittedly bi-polar, aggressive, and violent, but she's rude and unhelpful. What's the question here?

What were the passes? Like passes for an event or some sort? What were you saying while you did that?

I don't know why you're getting down-voted. I've never been treated as anything other than sub-human by the police whenever I've encountered them, and I've watched altercations with other people even more. Protect and Serve is gone, and now it's Punish and Harass.
/r/MensRights18/12/09 12:41 AM

Why do you keep putting that in quotes? Is there a question of whether or not it happened? Are you unsure if it's a factual accusation? Tell us what actually happened without trying to spin it in your favor with misdirection.

She seems to be saying that boys who grow up without interacting with girls when they are young have difficulty doing it as they get older. But she did it in a rather convoluted fashion.

Well, personally I'll say I'm sorry. I may have inadvertently (or even purposely) said something hostile directly about women during the course of these discussions, but for the most part I intend for my comments to pertain to the issues and the institutions that cause the problems, not the genders. There are obvious physical and mental differences between men and women, but for the most part they aren't the cause of the problems. I'm getting close to the point where I'll be unsubscribing, thoug…

I didn't make any concrete generalizations: I made a cost/benefit analysis of the current situation. Of course It's not 100% given that if you get married and have children bad things will happen to you, but the fact that it happens so often, and it's so easy, makes it not worth the risk to me. *And if you're talking about "generalizations often don't serve a positive purpose." being a generalization in itself, I was under the impression that the word "often" would negate that. I may be wrong bu…

It may not been his main point but he did hit on an idea that resonates strongly with me: I would have loved to have children, but considering how readily accepted it is for men to get stuck paying child support and not being able to see their kids, or getting served divorce papers and suddenly losing half their entire life's net worth, it's just simply not worth the risk, and it almost breaks my heart. Some people might say you just have to take the risk and hope, but I feel like right now it's…

Wow - Maybe it's been subconscious, but I live in WI as well, and it's been a strong feeling for me for a long, long time that I never, ever wanted to get married or father a child. Take that previous paragraph with a grain of salt since I've been drinking but it still sums up my opinion over the last 8 or so years.

This isn't about the issue at all, and I have to preface with this: I only know a few gay guys, but for the most part they've all been really cool and friendly (forgive me if even having to preface with that is offensive somehow - I don't know any better), but I find it really cool that reddit, for a place that is not in any way specifically for or by gay people, is so overwhelmingly positive, welcoming, and understanding of it.

Generally in a violent rape there are signs of violence, i.e. bruises, cuts, damage to the female giblets, so on. It's actually much harder to prove someone was raped via drugs or coercion.

In the offsprings adulthood he'd not be responsible for them in any way any more, so no, I would not see any reason for the father figure to cut the surrogate offspring off in this situation.

My dad has worked 3rd shift my entire life, so we weren't close by any stretch of the imagination until I was about 17 or 18, and my parents got divorced when I was about 11. Not having a father figure around did not completely destroy any chance of having a normal life for me, despite what you're trying to imply.

I'd say it definitely is. It combines with all the other fucked up things that happen to men and not to women to blow up this statistic. Breaking up with your child's mother, and never being able to see the child that you want to see in any reasonable way again. Getting a woman pregnant on accident, with a child you don't want, and having to spend the next 18 years, a not-insignificant portion of your life, living paycheck to paycheck, your hopes and dreams fading away. Getting married, and then…

I wouldn't have to worry about it. I can't imagine a situation where I would want to be a father to begin with, so you can bet it would be double or triple tested to be sure.

The university professor began the first class of the semester by announcing that she was an "anti-imperialist, anti-heterosexist Marxist-feminist." She read us the famous quote from Robin Morgan, the leading feminist and former editor of Ms. Magazine, who said "kill your fathers, not your mothers." Seeing the students's hocked faces, she added "Kill is too strong. Hate your fathers, not your mothers." I guess she was a moderate. One of the male students in the class, obviously feeling chastised…

No tattoos unless you’re in the armed forces. No body piercings unless you become a pre-Columbian tribal Aztec. No orange hair unless you join the circus. I know the armed forces aren't the most popular subset of humanity in a lot of circles, but lumping them in with tribal Aztecs and carnies seems a bit... harsh or over-dramatic.

I'm only 21 but I've been of the opinion that I will never be getting married for at least 4 years now. I've been in love before, and it feels great, but love can change so fast, people change, situations change, it's just a mistake to put promises of love into a legal, binding document. If you truly find the person you want to spend the rest of your life with... then just spend the rest of your life with them! Hell, if it's important to you, buy yourselves a couple of big fat rings, have the pa…

Jesus Spaghetti Monster Christ. I was pulling at my dick in the shower when I was, like, 10. I was using the internet to find pictures of chicks in swimming suits in the shower when I was 12. Is there anyone besides religious fucks who is seriously still under the impression that 14+ year old males don't think about/yearn to fuck any fucking attractive female in sight?

This is ridiculous from the very beginning. How can we zero in on the stabbing? She came home to a locked door, and when she yelled for her boyfriend to open it he said no because he was jerking off. In no way, shape, or form, am I condoning stabbing anyone or whatever for any reason, but no one found that fact strange?
