Some women. Some. This is what I said initially, any man with integrity wont tolerate it and will walk away. Not sure why people are thinking Im sticking up for cosmo. I think its a disgrace, im just calling for perspective. A lot of knee jerking going on here. Mens rights shouldnt be a reactionary movement, it reeks of hypocrisy if we then complain about the damage that hardcore feminism is doing to society. (I dont think we should focus on women at all.)

You know perfectly well that isnt the point I was making. Please read my above comment.

Do you seriously think the majority of reasonable cosmo reading women genuinely think this? I dont condone the article at all and of course its a double standard, but we need to stop this bullshit everytime one source does one mad thing and focus on the things that are really important. Some of the comments here are just as batshit crazy as youd see on the feminism forum. Negativity gets you nowhere.

Guys. Most women dont think like this. Its just a bad attempt at humour and shouldnt have been written, but there is no message. I guess theorectically if you were in a relationship with someone like this, youd have to take the blame for getting involved in the first place. Take it easy.

I cant say for certain, but I know a lot of people in my own life that would match that pattern. In some ways, the old dating cliche 'How is your relationship with your father' can often be true probably for the very reason you state. (on the other hand I think the reverse can be true too)

I kind of got why the father did it. But agree that he went about it in the wrong way. There is a difference between repressing ones feelings and being in control of them. It often seems that people who are aware of it struggle to get the balance right, my own father was the former type. I think on the other hand we have a bigger problem in society with the no control over his feelings at all kind of guys, I know tons of them, and its a mess.

As a guy earning a decent amount of money, and with divorce rates what they are, you would have to be pretty crazy not to take protection if you really think marriage is necessary. (that isnt a comment on your relationship, but you obviously have concerns) The fact you said you are financially supporting her is the biggest red flag here.

Yes, ive always disliked this. No self-respecting man sees a woman as a gift. This conflicts somewhat with asking not to view women as property no?

Spot on. People are always harping on about this respecting everybody crap all the time where I'm from. My policy is just to play it safe and give people the benefit of the doubt.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
