How so?

He could have a disability or mental disorder. That would make it difficult to pursue whatever he wanted to.

Honestly, people who get cold easily should have no rights over heating or air conditioning. They’re the problem.

I get you, but I wanna say that “pick yourself up by the bootstraps” isn’t necessarily a low empathy mindset. It can be, but sometimes it’s the opposite - “I’ve been there, I know how it feels, here are the tools I used to get out of a situation like that. You can do it too.” (That may not be how you feel, obviously. I just think that sometimes people have the wrong idea of empathy. It’s not all gentle coddling.)

Nah man. I can’t drive so you can’t pay me to care about that junk.

Generalizations are particularly difficult in this sub because they are often framed as an excuse to treat women in a negative way. “Men treat women like X because all women do Y.” If a woman doesn’t do Y, it seems silly for her to sit back and ignore a man saying “I will treat you like X. You earned it based on your behavior.” Most studies are not framed in that way. Studies may say “the majority of women do X,” but they typically will not follow it up with “therefore women inherently deserve Y…

She’s implying he’d dump the older woman for the younger woman. You’re saying he’d take the younger woman on the side. Either way, he’s fucking the younger woman. You both seem to be saying similar things.

Yes. That term is older than women in their mid-30s and beyond. What’s your point there?

If a particular clothing item is at the end of its lifespan and can’t be repurposed into anything else, or if you could use it for another purpose but would need to rip it up first anyway, why not?

When it comes to sewing, snags in tights are a little more finicky than rips in regular fabric. Tights are usually thin and very stretchy, so while snags can be repaired, it’s not necessarily as straightforward as a hole in a shirt made from more durable fabric. And it probably needs to be done by hand, not by machine. Depending on how expensive the tights were, I don’t know if most people would want to take the time to mess with that. If it’s not a visible tear, it’s way easier to just spray it…

How is Zuko and Mai’s relationship built on status? He’s disgraced, totally stripped of his birthright, cuts off his top-knot to show he’s done chasing his old life and trying to regain that respect/honor. He doesn’t think he’ll ever reclaim that. Nobody does. Mai knew that, and she knew what it would do her own status when she essentially told Azula to fuck off. The two of them weren’t exactly viewed in a favorable light by the people in power.

Literally the whole point of Zuko’s character arc is that he isn’t dark triad. Also Aang is 12.

Snags are actually pretty easy to fix! But then that kind of ruins the fun.

If you find yourself in a grey area, why not just assume it’s a no and move along?

I’m sure it’s a case of the loudest voices drowning everybody else out. I’ve known far more respectful men than disrespectful ones, but unfortunately, it’s often easier to remember the rude ones.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
