Ahhh I was thinking for the second date. What do you think is a reasonable one?

Pursue your interests. They'll be there. Really LOOK at who reflects your values and impresses you. Then pursue friendship with them. Organize some kind of event to invite THEM to. Invite them ALL. Poker night, whatever. This can work wonders for figuring out who will show up. Use an event text service like partiful. Its honestly like appoaching women but a bit easier and you can invite them all to the same thing.

An unfortunately useful heuristic.

I think the key here is the "why" and the subtext is "is it a problem?"

No need to fake anything. Just be ok with being new at it. Let them know you're interested when it appears to you but also have another reason to be there. Do that thing. Enjoy the food. the dancing. or the drink. Or your book.

Write down 4 stories you've told before and like. Practice writing out your opinion of everything on your table. Love it? hate it? Why? Then do it with others you like. Then do it with others you don't know.

Oh man, yes! I definitely try to share far more than ask. Stories > questions

For me the solution is always to say what I'm thinking more. I'm often acting inhibited bc I'm hiding something, and/or so are they. Once you're fully expressed and mutually accepting, then You'll suddenly become playful again

"Being confident" is the symptom of already knowing what to do. It IS helpful, but really not attainable when you don't have it. I don't really think it can be faked for very long while interacting with others. And trying to "make it happen" only makes you more aware of not having it, so trying to have it is like one of those reed finger traps. The more you pull the harder you're stuck. Self acceptance, on the other hand, is achievable no matter where you're at. Laughing while saying "I think yo…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
