Just trying to get other perspectives

I made the same apology in 10 days. My actions are often reactions to his criticism and withdrawal. So I do feel bad after but don’t know how to change it when we fall in the same patterns

That’s really helpful. I guess I was trying to say the right apology to make things better. But you’re right it’s on his paper. I have to say that I did feel very dignified when I sent that. He had written me a letter of what he needed to improve because he felt hurt by me. And I had written a letter to saying I deserve more, but instead of sending that to him I decided to apologize instead instead of carrying the conflict on in a tit for tat. Would you have done the same?

I’m 31. Sometimes I feel like leaving because he can be very critical. And yes in the grand scheme of things it seems minor but I am very sensitive to words. What I do know is that I feel bad when we have tension or an argument. I hate confrontation and I don’t know how to address my concerns directly without him getting defensive

When we are in person I feel his love because he is always touching me. Hugs, kisses and he makes love to me almost every day. When we’re away from each other he is so present where he is I get a call here and there, texts and photos of his day, but I don’t feel like the words of affirmation do it for me to replace the physical touch. So I really struggle. And I hate how weak and needy I get.

I don’t know how to foster trust with him. I think he has also been so deeply hurt he won’t admit it to himself even.

I broke up with him in the past three times due to religious differences and being worried my family wouldn’t accept him. That started a lot of the resentment on his side as he says he can’t trust me to not eject from the relationship

The issue is these thoughts often come up when we are away from each other

I think he resents me because he had to convert for us to get engaged. I haven’t been innocent either so I sometimes feel like I don’t have a leg to stand on when I’m laying things down

I love him and struggle with OCD and anxiety

I have been in therapy for years but sometimes I feel I have black and white thinking so it’s an inner battle if it’s reality or if I lean towards catastrophizing

Sometimes I feel like maybe it’s my anxiety and I catastrophize

This detail feels more threatening because it’s such a dealbreaker for me :(

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
