You’re trying to claim a bunch of random people you know nothing about as being either leaders or the majority opinion. Do you think it would be fair to consider Andrew Tate as a leader of MRA and that majority of MRA are as extreme as him? How about all the Proud Boys?

who are actual notable figures within the feminist movement Notable within the feminist movement? Are you a member of the feminist movement? Because if not, making the claim that they are considered notable is horseshit. That's like me saying Elliot Rodger is a notable member of the MRA movement after the fact. As you mentioned, MRA has Andrew Tate and Jordan Peterson, both known to be extremely toxic individuals who also prey on the vulnerable.

Actually yes, I will call your bluff and would love for you to link to posts on feminist subs advocating for the killing of men and having a positive vote count.

Meanwhile on the MRA side... Before you complain, MRA members did its best to argue this guy was really a misandrist and to ignore everything he said in his manifest. What's really interesting is how MRA members convince each other that all feminists are extremists, but don't apply the same standard to themselves. However in terms of violence, more women have been killed by people subscribing to anti-feminists/women philosophies.

https://imgur.com/UhJlGVp That's a screenshot from years and years ago. The user deleted the post, but was never banned from the sub. At one point on this sub users were pushing to celebrate a Marc Lépine Day by arguing that these things wouldn't happen if it wasn't for "misandrist feminists".

Sit on MRA long enough and you'll find more than enough post from men on here advocating to kill women, specifically feminists. Then you search the news and you find out some don't just advocate, but follow through with it.

The figures that push this cruel practice, remember that they’re “men of the cloth”. If you want to fix most of men’s problems, you need to hold the men causing those problems accountable. They tend to be conservatives and claim to be alpha males.

You’re ignoring the fact that those courses are getting GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIES to make them cheaper. Why should they be benefiting from subsides and careers like nurses and teachers are not? How fucking ignorant are you to think we don’t need teachers and nurses? I’m mean it’s pretty fucking clear that you can’t read the quoted text, that’s for sure. No wonder people see this sub as being full of incels with people like you on here.

Many traditionally feminised professions — like teaching and nursing — were absorbed into the university system and became more expensive to study. Meanwhile, the more male-dominated trades stayed in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) system — and those courses often attract government subsidies. Men are getting more assistance from government subsidies, and yet you’re blaming women for taking on more debt when we need more teachers and nurses? Great job posting an article about male pr…

You're upset that they sound blatantly anti-men, so you decide to post here, a sub where a lot of blatantly anti-women partake? PS: Example, the thread about starting a women's CS league. People here are whining and saying "if they're good, why do they need their own league?" Everyone knows it's not about that. You know their goal is to promote gaming for girls by creating a better environment for them to play, free of the extremely vulgar and misogynistic commentary they're often subjected to. …

That shouldn't be surprising when the left wing tend to support equal rights. Assuming this gets voted on, right wing Republicans will likely unanimously vote against it and left wing Democrats will be split. They'll be split not for the reason you might think, but because some would like to see selective service go away rather than expanded. Republicans will shoot it down because they dislike women in the military.

Things Peterson failed to mention: Most legislatures are men and those men send men off to war. Majority of perpetrators that commit violent crimes against men are men, which leads to more men going to jail. Peterson needs to tell the full story. Republicans don't want unity, so her comment is factually wrong. As for the time women are criticized, it's pretty obvious when it's sexist. The sexist, like Donald Trump, consistently use more derogatory terms towards females than males. You can be critical of someone's agenda without resorting to derogatory terms, but Republicans haven't figured that one out yet. They prefer to live in the 1920's rather than the 2020's.

Republicans refused to participate in the process. There's nothing the Democrats can do to force their participation. But here you are blaming Democrats for a choice Republicans made. American conservative politicians historically have been more hypocritical than liberals. That's simply a fact. They are the party of projection. Every time they accuse liberals of something, you can be sure it's only because conservatives are currently doing it.

They had weeks to review second of the bill sat a time. Republicans refused to read the parts as they came and refused to work with Democrats. They knew from the start they were all going to vote no. Both sides suck, but Republicans are significantly worse.

What I'm trying to say is that what feminists decry as "patriarchy" was actually a decentralized and complex set of norms and behaviors that had a lot more give and take than commonly depicted. That set of norms was not about setting the man above the woman as some kind of slavemaster, but as a way to set both genders duties and privileges so that babies can be born safely, society can continue to function and the state has soldiers for its wars. You said If you're looking for direct evidence then there are very few examples of feminists actually trying to murder people outright. The reason for this though is because very often they use third parties for their violence mostly they like to rely on the state to commit their violence for them. If you're going to make such a claim, instead of trying to deflect to Cardi B, post sources that support your claim of feminists using third parties.

That's a bit of a cop-out since this is a forum built for MRA. What happens on it is very similar to what happens IRL. Here's a fun challenge. Find a post on the front page of this subreddit that isn't complaining about women or feminists, but is seeking a legitimate discussion on solving a specific men's issue. If and when you find that, see if the most upvoted comment within it the post is complaining about women or feminists, or if they actual talk about how one might solve the problem.

I'm not demonizing boys or men. I'm demonizing EVERYONE that uses "boys will be boys" to excuse bad behavior, specifically sexual misconduct. If you think that applies to only men, then that says a lot about your mentality on the subject.

Type was already fixed. Trump is also accused of forcing women to have sex. As it stands, we have a potential rapist being protected by the US government from standing trial. This isn't about feminist. This is about people saying "boys will be boys" as an excuse for sexual assault and how people within this forum are trying to claim that never happens (despite everyone knowing it does happen).

You might as well have just said "Boys will be boys! Haha!" because you literally just wrong a paragraph trying to excuse Trump's comments on how he treats women.

Trump excitedly talked about sexual assaulting women and people wrote it off as "boys will be boys" and "just locker room talk." So yes, people will often write off sexual assault as "boys being boys."

The purpose statement does NOT set the boundaries. Even then, while it says it is predominately for cases of female employment it does not limit it solely to female employment. Child support is supposed to go towards the child. If evidence comes out that it's not, then you take it to court. Visitation isn't child support unless the child is in your care entirely. Child support is not rebranded alimony. Alimony is alimony and child support is child support. Child support spending is more restrictive.

I know for a fact that in Canada, the Party Equality Act covers everyone and is not limited to women only. Anyone can sue their employer for violating the act. Post proof of your second claim. No, Canada doesn't just let women walk away, but not men. If you have some proof, provide it. I'm sure whatever your claim is has a list of exceptions that apply equally.

Conservative lawmakers are very much against helping women, more so than they are against helping men. In the case of women, they actively seek out ways to restrict their rights and ignore injustives, while for men, they just ignore any injustices.

Women are let off with financial duties, they are asked to pay less. No they aren't and that all depends on the court. They also get to decide on abortion, which is fine, but then men are expected to pay for 18 years of a childs life that he didn't even necessarily want. Because one has far more consequences than the other, and your mistake should not be paid by society. Uhm yeah, if you mean "forcing" as in tying someone up in a cage. You're not forcing someone by telling them you really want a baby. Except you are arguing to strip away abortion rights, which is effectively trapping a person. Nah it's still about having a future son or daughter. It is much more serious than that. No, it's more about control. You can easily have children with another person that is more willing without putting someone else's life at risk. It's not about forcing anyone. Arguing w…

That's just a poor way of phrasing it. This isn't shits and giggles for the man and a bit of fun, it's his future child! If you're forcing a person to give birth, it's for your benefit, not anyone elses. So yes, that is effectively for "shits and giggles" as we have no permanent health risk involved in the pregnancy process. I'm pro-life. Who are you even arguing against? And why? You're pro-birth. Someone that is pro-life would gladly assume the same health risk.

Your point is that you believe women are inferior species designed to reproduce for a man's benefit and when a man chooses. That's a pretty fucked up belief. The only time you ought have right to kill another human being is when they threaten your own survival. Glad we agree, but apparently you don't think giving birth is a threat to a woman's survival.

Our mental health is barely put at risk. Not even a fraction of the chemical and physical health changes women experience. Like I said in other places. Lets enact an "eye for an eye" law. So let us enact a new law. Any physical damage caused to the lady by being forced to give birth to an unwanted pregnancy, the man is subjected to an equivalent amount. If the pregnancy leads to death, the man is put to death as well. I'm 100% sure you would change your tune with that sort of law. You want the reward, but with none of the risk.

/r/MensRights19/05/19 03:11 AM

There is no monumental difference between one gender or the other making a false accusation. Both are equally bad. You are arguing its the woman's fault a boss feels they can't do their job over a hypothetical. Are you seriously arguing that it would be better if women didn't report sexual harassment because an extremely small number of them abuse the system, which might lead to bosses feeling uncomfortable at doing their job?

For a lot of men? It's a fraction of a fraction precent. You don't seem to understand that hypotheticals should not prevent a person from doing their job. If you would tell a woman to suck it up or quit if they told you they can't work for their boss because the boss might harass them, then the same argument holds true for a boss. If a police officer refused to do their job because they were scared they would get shot, wouldn't you have an issue with them keeping their job?
/r/MensRights19/05/19 01:52 AM
-5

If you cannot do your job because of a hypothetical, that's a personal problem. That's not a problem intentionally being created by other people. Yes, some people do falsely accuse others of stuff. However, the issue being discussed here is over a hypothetical and you're claiming that's equivalent to an actual event. I'll put it this way. You would NEVER tell a woman that it's okay to fear their boss because the boss is male. You would tell them the fear is unfounded, childish, and sexist.
/r/MensRights19/05/19 01:17 AM

That's not even remotely the same. One is a personal issue and the other is a personal intentional creating issues with another person. Your analogy is as stupid as claiming someone being an introvert is equivalent to someone distrusting others after being harassed. It's illogical.

A troll would spend their time blaming everyone other than the perpetrators.

It's very telling how you only attack the victims and the men that did the right thing in the commercial, while claiming the one's in the wrong are the true victims. A guy stops his friend from being an asshole and you find a way to blame everyone except the asshole. Keep it up. Your disservice to men does not go unnoticed. Your victim blaming does not go unnoticed.

Cat calling is an issue and it's clear in the video what is happening. Keep up the victim blaming and bigotry. Really helping by saying men are never wrong and therefore cannot be victims either. Weird that you believe the ones starting fights and harassing others are the victims. Not the kids being beaten up, the ones being talked down on, or the way that literally sat in front of the senate to describe his experience.

The point of the Gillette ad was not even close to that. It was showcasing men stepping up to other men. It showed men being good fathers. It showed men are victims too. Except to you. You seem to believe none of those things are masculine. You want to blame women for every problem and watch commercials with firefighters and soldiers looking cool. Want to help men? Stop attacking them when they're shown as victims. By the way, in response to your other reply, cat calling is NOT an excusable way …

The ad showed off men doing the right thing by stopping harassment, stopping bullies, standing up for themselves and others, and being a good father. So much of the behavior in the ad is seen by people. I've seen and have been at one point that little kid being bullied on the ground while the fathers said "boys so be boys". People here want to ignore the problems. The response ad created by the watch company is a good example of ignoring the problems. They listed some issues and then did exactly…

The commercial didn't attack its customers, unless you believe it's customers are guilty of ignoring bullying. Cheaper alternatives have done more than this commercial ever could do. The thing that upsets me though is that this sub claims it supports the male victims of sexual harassment and assault, but many users attacked Terry Crews over the clip of him being used by Gillette. This sub seems to have stopped being about helping men and more about attacking everyone else.

Numbers… which obviously show male issues And once again, numbers mean NOTHING unless you inform people how they can help or how they can be provided help. It doesn't take some big old political statement to realize ignoring physical abuse isn't okay, nor does it take some big message to know sexual harassment isn't okay. The same could be said about the statistics in this commercial. Especially one that ignores providing different ways to help. Men's issues aren't given the light of day. You do…

Yet again, it brought up true male issues moody take about to spark discussion. No, it posted a few numbers and then outright ignored providing ways we can help. Instead it focused on glamorizing certain occupations. We know the suicide rate, occupation death rate, and homeless rate for men is high. So where the fuck in the commercial do they tell you how you can help? It doesn't and that is why it is a poorly constructed commercial. There was no positive message in this response commercial. It posted a few numbers, showed a few faces, and then ignored the problem by moving quickly on to hero job worshiping and smiling faces. It provides not a single solution or recommendation of where to provide support. It's a societal issue, that everyone needs to address. And yet this ad as well points to societal issues that should be addressed. However, at no point does it give anyone a hint at how to start addressing the problems. You…

It did literally nothing to promote positive action. All it did was say "here's a bit of depressing news and... CHECK IT OUT! Firefighters! Military! Ohh! Ahhh!" No solutions to the problems it first mentioned. It straight up fucking ignored the problems by not showing anyone helping. Exactly the opposite of what the Gillette commercial did. It didn't speak honestly of the issues, just mentioned very briefly of their existence before moving on to "hero job worshipping".
/r/MensRights21/01/19 05:01 PM
-5

This ad ignored issues that men often decline to handle because it would rather paint all men as perfect. It's just another piece shitty beer or truck commercial that refuses to show reality. Showing homeless men and mentioning suicide/death rates does nothing. They didn't bother mentioning WHY so many are homeless or dying or show how anyone could help. It pulls the same old shit of making you feel sympathetic and then oh hey, a firefighter! Back to forgetting the problems exist.

What is a man? One that stands up against sexual harassment, sexual assault, talking down, bullying, and fighting. One that boosts their child's confidence. So... basically what the Gillette commercial promoted. We don't need another bullshit commercial that ignores reality and views life through rose-colored glasses. Fuck all those truck commercials, beer commercials, and this shitty watch commercial that act like the only real men are firefighters, police officers, and military.

I don't recall a groping scene, so I might be wrong on that one, but I do know there was no rape scene. I suspect that if there was a groping scene, you decided it was best to ignore the follow up scene where another guy steps in and stops it, right? Do you believe that feminists are a problem? If so, how does that not make you a hypocrite for doing the same generalizing?
/r/MensRights19/01/19 06:01 PM

No, you're just wasting energy trying to find ways to shift the blame. That ad must've spoke to you on a spiritual level. Not really. It seemed to speak to a lot of people that believe cat calling, harassment, and bullying are masculine traits though.
/r/MensRights19/01/19 05:53 PM

Yet you're putting it up on the same pedestal as rape and molestation. Do either of these happen in the commercial? No. They don't, so fuck off with trying to put words in my mouth. YOU are the one trying to place the actions of the commercial on the same pedestal by using the black community as your weapon.
/r/MensRights19/01/19 05:50 PM

Teachers do intervene and with the way schools work, it ultimately ends up with the principal determining what should be done. You're trying to find a way to blame women instead of blaming the bully or the parents of the bully.

"Boys will be boys" is a common saying to excuse childhood bullying and cat calling. Also, there's a world of difference between stealing cars and a kid bullying another kid. I like how you didn't acknowledge the feminist part of the comment.

As of the most recent statistic, it just hit 50% within the last few years. So no longer most, but men historically ran the schools directly until very recently. Men still make up about 75% of superintendents.

/r/MensRights19/01/19 05:15 PM

No, it isn't the same message. There is no commonly used racial equivalent to "boys will be boys". I'm sure you would have no problem saying "Feminists will be feminists" given your past anti-feminism comments. You have no problem generalizing them.
/r/MensRights19/01/19 05:10 PM
-1

We're taking about this ad and in that ad is a kid bullying another on the ground. You called that a tumble.
/r/MensRights19/01/19 05:09 PM

Not even remotely similar. Last I checked, there is no "blacks will be blacks" excuse while there is a "boys will be boys" excuse.
/r/MensRights19/01/19 05:06 PM

So you're philosophy is to ignore, ignore, ignore, and then decide its time to get upset when that bullied kid decides to shoot up their school. Best to ignore the causes and only worry about the aftermath....
/r/MensRights19/01/19 05:05 PM

You call one kid bullying another a "tumble"? And one wonders why two adults grow up to believe trying to knock each other out is proper behavior.
/r/MensRights19/01/19 05:00 PM

So you believe that bad behavior should never be police by others? Interesting take. Might I ask why you are trying to police the contents of a commercial? Seems hypocritical.

Show me another commercial where there is a "high profile smearing of men".
/r/MensRights19/01/19 04:55 PM

One single commercial and suddenly is being shoved down people's throats? You realize that almost every commercial tends to be positive, many showing firefighters running into a flaming building or a bunch of team mates high fiving each other. "Boys will be boys" is the common excuse given by adults to avoid disciplining their child's bullying.
/r/MensRights19/01/19 04:39 PM
-4

So you don't believe pointing out flaws in behavior is useful in correcting bad behavior? You don't believe showing people standing up to the bad behavior is useful?
/r/MensRights19/01/19 04:22 PM
-14

You didn't answer the questions. Do you believe the only way to make people better is by ignoring the negative aspects that they keep doing? Do you believe it's okay that people celebrate Donald Trump's "Fuck your feelings" behavior?
/r/MensRights19/01/19 04:14 PM
-20

Why is it wrong to point out bad behavior? Why is it wrong to them show people standing up? Answer this, do you believe Terry Crews is not a victim? That the person who Crews accused of sexuality harassing him is a victim of an anti-masculinity movement? Do you believe cat calling is okay? And that someone who stands up to it is wrong for being anti-masculine? Do you believe that ads should only be positive in nature and never consider behaviors negatively?
/r/MensRights19/01/19 04:06 PM
-80

If you have a problem with the Gillette ad, then you are not supportive of Men's Rights. You are saying it's okay to harass and bully people because "boys will be boys". You're saying Terry Crews was not a victim and that the men that do stand up to injustice aren't masculine.

It's not attacking men. It's attacking the "boys will be boys" excuse used to justify our ignore toxic behavior. If you think cat calling, talking down on coworkers, and bullying are all okay behaviors because historically it's been accepted, you're in the wrong.

You are defining an entire group by its extremist. If you're going to define one group by its extremist minority, then you should define the other group by its extremist minority. Both groups have similar goals for the gender they represent. If you believe that the majority of feminists are anti-men, then the same has to be said of MensRights.

Tell that to the Central Park 5 and considering his own history (that he admitted to on audio), if he saw a man raping a woman he'd likely join in and make it a Devil's Triangle. Trump is right up there with Weinstein in morality.

The vocal minority get all the media attention on MensRights, but they are not the majority just as Milo Yiannopoulos does not represent even remotely the majority views of MensRights. His supporters are the minority that spam the most. Many of the pointers you have aren't right. For instance, the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act of 1984 was not replaced or lobbied to be replaced by the Violence Against Women Act of 1994. The current climate is investigate. That's how the legal system works, but if you're going to discuss how society views something, that's quite different. Let's go back to the beginning. Even in times of calm, men were still responsible for protection, provision, taming the wilderness, fighting the wild animals, killing for food, working in deadly situations just to feed women at home who never once had to risk her life for any aspect of her role. You're blaming women, but women were typically not allowed to perform those roles by men. That's a very balanced view. You cannot claim women had a voice in the matter when women were not allowed the right to vote. Why weren't they allowed the right to vote? Because men decided the laws that determined who could vote. Yes, women have a say in law, but that's not the full truth of the matter. The full truth is that their say has not held the same weight as men. There have been only 52 female US Senators in the US to date. We're at a record high number right now and it's only 23 women.…

Please be more balanced and recognise that men have been trapped in their role just as much as women have. Men have had much more choice in the roles they choose than women have historically. It's worth remembering much this conversation started. Someone made the claim women didn't deserve the right to vote, because only men went to war to die. The article's top image doesn't attempt to portray nudity by its cropping. The image on Twitter was auto-cropped by Twitter, not Vice.
/r/MensRights16/09/18 05:32 AM

Vice didn't choose to crop the photo that way. When an article is linked on Twitter, it will occasionally need to auto-crop an image, which is what happened in this case. Also, if you didn't notice, the photo is a mother applying sunscreen to her child (notice the residue on his side below the watch).
/r/MensRights16/09/18 05:28 AM

it's the way Vice decided to showcase their album that made it seem a little uncomfortable. What specifically do you find problematic with how Vice showcased the album? Is it the cropped image from the OP's post? If so, that's not Vice's fault. That's Twitter auto-cropping the image.

Seems like a lot of people here missed that point and want it to be an anti-women/feminism movement.
/r/MensRights15/09/18 07:58 PM

Lets say the girl was wearing a bathing suit, was incredibly young, and put in an extremely sexually suggestive photograph involving a much older man. It's a picture of a mother applying sunblock to her son you pervert.

Looking at the picture further, it appears to be a mother helping put sunblock on her son. If you replaced the boy with a girl in a swimsuit, it wouldn't spark much conversation either. The problem appears to be with how Twitter or whatever social media truncated the image, accidentally portraying the picture to appear sexual in nature.

Battlefield was never historically accurate or meant to be predominately historically accurate. Many weapons that were used were not location or time appropriate. People are crying about female characters because a dev mentioned it was to appeal to a larger audience. That triggered a certain anti-women crowd.

The clue its alternate history is that it's Battlefield. They have people a heads up with multiple previous games and with the trailer. DICE managed the situation perfectly. They can make it a shooter for any time period they want. It doesn't have to be historically accurate, especially since the previous games were not. IT'S A GAME. IT'S ALL ABOUT GAMEPLAY. The fact is, they chose to ignore very simple realism to make a fun game. They are choosing to add female models to make it fun for others. After the first time DICE saw a person reenter a plane in flight, they could have easily fixed. They didn't. They chose enjoyment over realism to make players happier. Battlefield has never been a historically accurate series. They have always put player enjoyment over accuracy. If the addition of female models to a hist…

There's no old footage of pilots jumping in and out of a plane while in flight either. There were however women fighting for the French Resistance and for the Soviets. You keep trying to play a realism card that doesn't and had never existed in the Battlefield series. I'm part of that older crowd that started 15 years ago with BF1942. I expect a quality, enjoyable game and the addition of playable women models won't affect that. Micro transactions and bugs will.
/r/MensRights15/07/18 08:49 PM

Immersion is about selling the idea that the player is actually in a believable environment. And having women characters will not strip a person from being immersed in a believable environment. People asked for WWII, they didn't ask for an alternate universe version of WWII. The Battlefield series has never been the series for them if that is what they want.

I'm trying to keep it on the tracks while a lot of people here spend more time trying to find ways to complain about feminism and women than find ways to fix problems. If someone didn't know any better, the multiple posts on the front page would lead people to believe it's "International Complain About International Women's Day Day".

Go look at the front page. More posts bitching about women being "the problem" than discussing how to fix inequalities.

While he may be preaching to the choir, unfortunately the loudest members are anti-women and continue to harm its image.

If every country is 2:1, would that mean that districts would end up being 2:1? No. It wouldn't. It would mean all 8 districts would be one party because all 8 districts would be won 2:1. Like I said, make the lines simple using an algorithm, it removes the gerrymandering, and we celebrate another republican losing power.
/r/MensRights04/02/18 08:31 PM

The fairest lines would be simple, even though that means secured Democrat districts, i.e. no republican representatives. Therefore, the current lines being 7:1 more accurately represent Maryland than the previous ones that were 6:2. Are you arguing that Maryland should be gerrymandered to give a second seat to Republicans or do you believe a simple map should be drawn even though that removes the last seat?
/r/MensRights04/02/18 07:50 PM
1

Are you arguing for increased gerrymandering?
/r/MensRights04/02/18 07:33 PM
2

Gerrymandering can lead to voter suppression laws. North Carolina is a good example of how gerrymandering allowed the GOP to suppress a large voting population.
/r/MensRights04/02/18 06:45 PM
2

No, that's not at all what I said and I have no idea how you came to believe that. What I said is that NEITHER today's or 2002's maps are simple. The two maps are very similar in how they snake districts around. Claiming 2002 is better/simpler than today's or vice versa is a ridiculous claim.
/r/MensRights04/02/18 06:41 PM

When a party gerrymanders a state and passes laws that suppress select people's right to vote, how can it not affect a presidential election? That's thousands of people being prevented or dissuaded from legally voting for a presidential candidate of their choice.
/r/MensRights04/02/18 06:23 PM
2

That's not what I said at all, but good try. Neither map is simple or simpler than the other.
/r/MensRights04/02/18 06:18 PM
2

Go look at the 2002 district map and figure out how that was designed any simpler than today's.
/r/MensRights04/02/18 06:05 PM
3

Sure, you can gerrymander district lines to make Republicans having more representatives, but not with SIMPLE district lines. You misunderstand me if you think I'm defending gerrymandering in Maryland. I'm 100% for simple district lines that remove the gerrymandering because it would mean no more republicans representing Maryland. Maybe then the GOP will start helping push for proportional representation throughout the US.
/r/MensRights04/02/18 05:44 PM

Voter suppression played a role in the presidential election. Gerrymandering played a role in letting voter suppression happen. You cannot claim thousands of people being prevented from legally voting didn't play a role.
/r/MensRights04/02/18 05:19 PM

You are not understanding what I wrote. Yes, it put a large number of Republicans in one district, but without having done so, it would be 8 secure Democrat districts. It's a state that has no simple solution other than proportional representation of Republicans want more than 1 representative.
/r/MensRights04/02/18 04:58 PM

What I asked for was one gerrymandered as badly, meaning a state that the balance of representation is disproportionate. There are twice as many democrat voters than republican in Maryland and fairly evenly distributed throughout the state. You cannot draw a simple districting map of Maryland and end up with multiple Republican representatives. Read about North Carolina if you want to see gerrymandering and voter suppression in action.
/r/MensRights04/02/18 04:52 PM

I don't think you understood what I wrote. Maryland is gerrymandered by Democrats, but contrary to the norm, it benefits Republicans by giving them a seat they wouldn't normally have with simple lines drawn. For Republicans to have more than 1 seat, the map could not be drawn with simple districts.
/r/MensRights04/02/18 04:26 PM

Last I checked, Maryland isn't pushing for laws that promote suppression. Unless I'm mistaken, then please link me to a source where they are purging voters from the books or limiting resources primarily targeted at certain races, wealth, or political leaning. As nasty looking as Maryland's districting is, the gerrymandering there put in place a Republican when any simpler map would have made it completely Democrat. Even still, I do agree that the lines should be made simpler if they aren't goin…
/r/MensRights04/02/18 04:16 PM

Chicago is bad, but with simple lines drawn like Iowa, even the GOP acknowledge they won't change the states majority party by a long shot. It's no where near as problematic as places like North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Another heavily gerrymandered state is Maryland, but interesting thing about Maryland is that without gerrymandering, it would have 8 Democrats and no Republicans compared to the current situation of 7:1.
/r/MensRights04/02/18 03:59 PM

Gerrymandering allows for voter suppression. Whether through selective purging or limiting voter locations and resources. Also, show me a state where any other party gerrymandered anything close to Republicans.
/r/MensRights04/02/18 03:33 PM

Gerrymandering and voter suppression happened. It's pointless for me to vote where I live, even though the state was determined by the court to be racially gerrymandered by the GOP. The GOP are even on record admitting that is exactly what they did, but now we're stuck waiting for the Supreme Court hears whether it's illegal. We can all guess how that'll turn out with a shitbag like Gorsuch being one of the judges.

I'm not complaining about the sub. The sub is fine. I'm complaining about this stupid meme that makes the sub look like children. It's dragging this entire fucking sub down and turning it from a place to talk legitimate issues to one that sounds like it's a T_D breeding ground.
/r/MensRights28/01/18 10:47 PM

That's actually my point. Making memes bitching about how some feminists are complaining about manspreading is NOT a legitimate men's issue. To use this shitty meme against its author, "real MRA aren't out there making shitty memes about manspreading. They're out there doing something to promote equality."
/r/MensRights28/01/18 10:35 PM

Sorry, but I'm not part of that group if one exist. The meme is fucking pathetic and makes it sound like you cannot argue for multiple things at once. It's like making a meme against MRA where you say "Real MRA don't care about alimony. Real MRA are out there fighting ISIS!" That sort of pathetic fucking gatekeeping makes MRA look like a bunch of children with no legitimate issues.

It gets lumped in because since last year, the alt-right extremist from T_D and other subs have been allowed to slowly, but steadily manipulate the discussions on here to become more extremist in nature than civil.

Did they discuss and mock Obama's drug past? Did people in the media discuss it? Yes, but they didn't mock it, nor did they mock Laura Bush for her usage (only for her hypocrisy towards users). Did they mock Hillary for laughing that the rapist she was defending passed the lie detector test? Yup. That is completely insulting to say they're muscular. Considering how the Republicans loved to claim Michelle was actually a male, it was mocking. Calling them the hulks is completely the same as portra…

Laura was called a drug addict highly medicated by Sandra Barnhart on the view. Discussing Laura's history using (and to an extent, dealing) drugs is fair play. SNL made fun of the bush twins. Uh huh, sure. I guess u never watched snl bashing her nonstop during the campaign. It's fucking SNL. They've done that 30+ years and they mock both sides. They did one with Obama and Michelle where they undergo Hulk-like transformations. Some of SNL's most successful skits were with Phil Hartman and Darrel…

Bush was called a monkey. Palin's special needs son was made fun of. The obamas were bashed, BUT the media and Hollywood were there to kiss the ground they walk on. Bush was mocked (like all presidents are), but practically no one bashed Laura or their daughters. As for Palin, people for the most part left her family alone during the campaign season. It was after she lost and continued her own insults the more people decided an eye for an eye was acceptable. President Trump attacks people's phys…

I see people attack their appearance (as often happens with Trumps kids, Stephen Miller, etc) I really fucking hate it. It's really just all coming back around though. You don't get to spend 8+ years normalizing the shitting on the appearances of Obama, his family, and other opponents, then expect your opponents to not return the favor. “Michelle Obama. I’d like her to return to being a male and let loose in the outback of Zimbabwe where she lives comfortable in a cave with Maxie, the gorilla.” …

This isn't even a blind feminist thing or them vilifying. It's Breitbart, an alt right media group, making something out of nothing hoping to gain more followers. Breitbart sees the Men's Rights movement as weak and easy to influence, and people here seem to be more than happy to be played into their hands.

The trio of timelines can be jarring as you figure out how they all fit, and the fact that there are only a couple of women and no lead actors of color may rub some the wrong way. When they're listing reasons why someone might not like the movie is an appropriate point to point something out. It's a large review and somehow people here are whining about a minor sentence. It's seriously pathetic in the realm of things to whine about, especially when the group whining about that single sentence ar…

The trio of timelines can be jarring as you figure out how they all fit, and the fact that there are only a couple of women and no lead actors of color may rub some the wrong way. It's the last paragraph. At no point does it say "trigger warning" or even elude to it. All it says it some might dislike it for certain reasons. People here need to stop creating false drama.
/r/MensRights24/07/17 01:29 PM

Just curious, but did you read the USA Today review? It's actually very good and they definitely did not complain about a lack of diversity. What's happening here is the same issue regarding Doctor Who where media outlets (in this case, Breitbart) are creating fake drama and people are eating it up without bothering to read the articles they are referencing.
/r/MensRights24/07/17 12:27 PM

It remains a question if the most qualified candidate mattered. What the study fails to determine is whether it is experience that wins out, or resume/CV writing ability, or a combination of the two. They need to run a study where given the same set of data a group from each gender produce a resume/CV to determine if writing styles favor one gender over the other.

Same. Never seen them not support the poster except in cases where the poster is 100% clearly in the wrong and caught lying.

Can't really say they didn't allow him because we didn't see him walk up and ask like the guy in this first 2 seconds did.

They have the right to assemble but not the right to keep people from traveling. He could have walked past them like others managed to do at the beginning of the video.

Clarkson needs to punch Piers again. Piers comment isn't a good point, it's trivializing what men's rights is about into a masculinity issue.

Fox is the worst though. CNN is shit as well, but Fox goes above and beyond when it comes to their agenda and misinforming its viewers. They refuse to call themselves mainstream media when they're the leading cable "news" channel.

I suggest not trying to restrain her or him, as the police are forced to charge you first and foremost. Best thing to do is just run the moment you can to a place you can be safe, such as a neighbor or somewhere public like a store.
