So you’re saying that my expectations are unrealistic and that no girl can ever live up to that

I’m just confused because I spent months trying to force myself to be ok with it because I thought I was just being immature, when I’m fact I’m not ok with it. But at the same time I feel like I have to get over it because the reality is that any girl I’m with in the future will have fucked other guys. So I have to deal with it eventually

But why am I jealous of her past if I’m more experienced?

That’s great advice and I appreciate it. Would you mind if I dmed you to discuss a couple points further?

What do I have to be jealous of? That she was sleeping with more people than me around the time we met? She’s a woman and it will always be easier for them to get as much sex as they want and I know is no reflection of me. This isn’t a reply meant to attack you it’s a genuine question because I’m confused

Thank you for the in-depth response. My goal here is getting to the root issue which is why do I care that she slept around before me and before we were exclusive? I think it’s because I had an idea of her that didn’t pan out to be true. Does that make sense? Presumably the solution is to not get caught in a fantasy and make sure you’re both on the same page about what the other person is doing next time?

That’s fair. My question is what do I need to work on? Why does this upset me?

Your response makes total sense. I wholeheartedly acknowledge that it’s a double standard and that it’s wrong to feel this way I just don’t understand where it stems from. What am I projecting?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
