I was thinking either a double name (that is standard procedure in Spain, by the way, which creates awfully cool full names imo) or, since I have one of the most widespread and boring names my country has to offer, I was thinking about actually taking my husband's name. I also was toying with the idea of taking my mother's maiden name, but that is legally awfully hard where I live (even if you are a divorce child, which makes no sense to me)

No Exes, only looks on the street / in public. I know a few 12 + years age gap couples though. Only one LTR which stuck, though.

There is also the motive of going from victim to perpetrator (for example women teaching their daughters ti be as submissive as they themselves used to live)

This is the first time I remember something like that actually happening to me. I was in a language course. Our task was to answer questions about character with newly learned vocabulary. One question was "Indicate the characteristics of the perfect female spouse. Indicate the characteristics of the perfect male spouse." So I made my list. When I compared with my partner, we (from neighbouring but still different cultures) had 1. an interesting time seeing how we characterized the perfect woman/…

I found an okay value man above 35 (still vetting). My impression is that they get rarer the older they get though, too.

So is this a common thing? People getting angry and abusive when you put up boundaries? Yes. I saw people just accepting that and disappearing or calmly saying hello and then going their own way in 95% of cases. Only very few people stay mad (and if they do, in the best case, they just stay away from you). You will feel freer and better in the long run though.

Gosh I have a great friend - you know, pretty, well-paid, organised, intelligent, late 20s - who crushes on her mid-40s boss who flirts with her. She knows intellectually that all of that is a bad idea, but emotionally - There is something going on that I don't understand. I suggested dating other guys to get her mind off him because EVERYTHING about that situation is yuck, but it obviously happens. And she does know how much about this is bad and still can't stop whatever that thing is. Me poin…

Great thread idea, ESPECIALLY the active, "let's collect ideas" approach! I am curious about Breath Work now. Thanks for the list! My bf and I both had some ideas about sex in our heads that were clearly inspired by porn culture. We tried them out and threw most of them away fast. I am glad I found a partner who is like me in that regard: let's try it out and throw it away if it's bad, including stuff you fund okay but what the other didn't like. Also, foreplay ftw! Vanilla is just THE essence o…

This is the first time on all the dating subs I checked that I found my problem (or an important part therof), and useful mindset shift solutions. Wow. Thank you for writing all of this.

I read a story about a girl who was brought in as a 12 year old girl and she hadn't hit puberty yet so her pimps gave her "pink injections" to make her parts develop. The pink injections are those that are given to cows and buffaloes to make them lactate. I feel like I am going to vomit. Thank you for sharing that, though.

Thank you; me, too. She is worried that family and tradition will wear her down at some point, though. She has made a life for herself in the West and stays away from home but she isn't sure if she can do that forever. I am as supportive as I can without intruding too much. She really is someone who worked herself out of so much sh*t by having a "bad temper" and just not accepting things.

A friend of mine is an Indian female and guess what, she never wants to get married and is deep in academia instead. Cool woman.

A study about how men want less children if they take care of their first one and how women want more children than originally when their man takes care of the children (we are talking 50% maximum ofc bc this is the state of the world): https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/may/20/paid-paternity-leave-study-spain-men-fewer-children

It may have been a little crazy on my part to go to that length but at at the time I wanted to expose who he really was. I was grateful simply reading this story. thank you for spendig your time and energy on some good old justice. But now, I am soooooo grateful that the truth surfaced and I was strong enough to leave his ass and go NC. I am happy for you!

It's still a good sign if both partners have learned to live on their own for some time. I saw some 1 person lived at home until moving in with their partner (the guy, usually) / partner 2 has been on their own for some time already (usually the woman) relationships. Not a good idea / guaranteed source for conflict.

I just had a heated discussion with some obious redpillers and came here out of frustration It's like... if you are what someone else needs and socially adept, you can be all these things they despise: poor, fat, short, soft-spoken and find a partner who is what you needs and who is also adept. Sometimes dating is frustrating but that's life But once you chose that narrow rp view you simply exclude all the counter-examples you see

HAha. Yeah I guess being a super suave alfa plate juggler was the original idea/image but... why. I like the clown analogy.

My ex older guy told me break up with my bf but I never did of course Just to clarify: Are you a bi guy, a gay guy, an actual woman, or was that phrase quoting a woman? 20-somethings are only into older men if he can provide her with major status. Otherwise, he’s throwing her money for her “time.” [...] Either way, a 20-something hot and BROKE man will still have an easier time getting laid (without requirements like dinner/ drinks etc) over an older (ugly) rich guy Well... Depending on your def…

Serious question: My current bf did just that on our first time: go down on me and then, tired, cuddle. I had an orgasm, and now I simply do not feel anything anymore whenever he tries and push him away. Naturally, our orgasm count is around 1:5 now. So I do kind of blame myself. Most advice sites go "relax / unlearn that it's not about your pleasure" etc. Maybe that is the thing. But do you have any better tips? Like, I am serious about this, I am kind of at a dead end. I read the FDS handbook,…

That rule about only dating men who have lived alone for a while? It's soo helpful. I was taught this by my mother who married a man who had been living with his parents (and his flat for studying, in which he only ate meals his mum sent him etc.). She figured that rule out after some harsh years. And one of the first positive things I ever noticed about my now bf was his tidy flat. Yeah, it's messy sometimes, but he does clean up periodically. That was a green flag, like whew.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
