New York State Law says a lot of stupid shit. Just because the law states something does not make it moral or even a good idea.

Discriminate equally? I do not even know what that means.

Private businesses should be allowed to discriminate for whatever reason they see fit. This is not a Men's Rights issue.

I got my MA from Bristol Uni, and I am sad to see this.

Making logical arguments and having them understood are two different things. If a person you are involved with says that he wants to mutilate your children, it is probably best not to have children with that person. I know I am being a bit simplistic, but if you cannot convince him of that, then you are either going to have to be okay with mutilating infants or going your own way.

I would love to know the yardstick by which they measure this privilege.

Oh you didn't know? That is the patriarchy at work.

Children are so great in that they can see the emperor has no clothes. It takes brainwashing, bad media, and pseudo-scientific academia to make them realize that the emperor with no clothes is patriarchy. Or Rape Culture. Or White Capitalism. Or anti-otherkinism. Or whatever. The goal post has been moved so many times I cannot keep up with the oppressed/oppressors.

Oh, I misunderstood. You know, since Cubase and a lot of other software is European, I am not so sure.

I am a composer of music for film and I have, in the past, played in bands and that kind of thing. From my experience, musicians, regardless of gender, will quickly complain about ANYTHING they see as an obstacle to their success. "This town doesn't like good music." "Nobody likes decent music anymore." "People just don't understand my symphonic-metal-lounge jazz-EDM tracks." The likelihood of a demographic of musicians using the SJW angle to opine over their lack of success is not only possible…

Yeah, that seems to be how it is used, however remove the "emotional, first world problem, nobody understands me," vibe about it and I accept it as a perfectly valid and useful term. My guess is "cis" will likely continue having negative connotations, because insulting someone is a whole hell of a lot easier than addressing the substance of what they are saying. It is similar to "check you privilege."

I do not think the term "cis" is without an appropriate function. In and of itself, I am fine with the term. Having said that, the only time I have heard it used is in a not-so-positive tone.

Not sure if there is a joke context I am missing here, but can we please not be like feminists trying to stop other people's voluntary behavior. If people want to beat the shit out of one another, that is their choice. Once again, I apologize if I am not seeing sarcasm here.

Uh.....if a mother "fumes" over a 14 year old boy wanting to view porn, then there are some seriously fucked up issues. Did she mention this "rape culture" rant to your son? Has she had a rational conversation with him about any of this? Has she even bothered to ask his feelings on the issue? If not, she should perhaps just mutilate her own body and maybe then she will come to some sort of understanding. Seriously, if my next door neighbor wanted to mutilate my child's genitals, I would take a b…

Voluntary Slavery? That is a concept with which I am not familiar. Because this whole time I was under this notion that slavery was, by its very definition, very far from voluntary.
