2	F... for a factually correct work. Indoctrination starts young... I'm sorry that you may have gone to a bad program and that you feel that way, but you are wrong. College Algebra and Pre-Calculus are all about preparing students for higher level physics and math courses. Memorizing formulas and drawing pictures are good ways of reaching an understanding for some students. For a lot of people Trig just doesn't make sense until you draw it out and then lay it out with the formulas. In physics you literally build off of equations you were taught in high school. The process students use and learn in Geometry, Algebra, and arithmetic are pivotal in higher level math. I saw it all the time in college algebra/developmental math where people were just used to getting the answer, didn’t fully understand how they got there, and now were totally lost when they got a curve ball thrown at them.
