I might suggest a bit of introspection. When many many women have the same reaction, and most replies also take issue with your logic, the flaw may lie with you. Theoretically you’re not wrong Realistically you’re alone If you like being correct and alone, no changes needed. If you want a life with a socially normal partner, you’ve got some serious changes to figure out.

“Trust but verify” is for business and politics, both of which are adversarial, and both of which each party would avoid the other if possible. Nuclear agreements are a clear example. If your relationship with the mother of your children is adversarial, there are larger problems than the need to verify paternity for peace of mind.

Requiring validation is a statement of distrust, even if you don’t expect to find a violation of that trust. It is indeed a form of accusation, despite all protestations of it not being a big deal.

Therapy, specifically CBT. That got me through a really bad divorce. Though it’s not easy, you need to learn to really focus ONLY on the moment in front of you. you can’t change the past. It’s. Just. Done. the future will happen…in the future. the current moment is RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. Get through the next hour, the next ten minutes, the next minute, and then deal with whatever’s next when that gets here. It’s hard! Also, it gets better. Good luck.

Don't compliment them on their cosplay or on their looks. They probably get that all day. Talk about anything else. That dude who tripped, or the actor who was a dick about signing autographs, or who knows what.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
