I'm not saying I agree but I've noticed a lot of women experience cognitive dissonance over the premise of abortion and overcompensate -- if they turn abortion into a nbd it doesn't bother them as much. The inclination is to turn it into a mundane procedure a la removing a cyst and I agree since desensitization makes the world better.
