That’s very sad that you think that.

Money is not the only quality in the universe that can make someone above average?

So wild to me that there are dudes who still unironically stan Joe Rogan lol like aren’t they embarrassed??? And yeah I mean I personally think that his rhetoric is so dangerous that I wouldn’t want anyone in my circle who listens to him. Mostly because of his antivaxx stances. Like it’s one thing to want to engage in controversial discussions for the sake of content (still bad), but he’s taking it way too far by encouraging his listeners to not get vaxxed during a pandemic.

Well, I will say that my mom has always had high standards and she has never lowered them! She tells me this story of when they were both in New York, and my dad mentioned something about an old female “friend” coming to the city and wanting to meet up with her. My mom wasted no time telling him why that’s not a good idea, not to do it, etc. She just said, “okay have fun!” fully ready to drop his ass if he went through with it. Eventually they talked about it and my dad said that he never saw he…

Ughh I’m so sorry. That’s the norm unfortunately. My uncle, who is my dad’s older brother, literally will wake his wife up just to make him tea! Learn how to boil your own water my dude

This is so sweet and reminds me of my own parents! My mom is American and my dad is from India. They also met while my mom was traveling. They sent letters to each other and talked on the phone whenever my dad could get a chance, then he came to NY to be with her because that’s where my mom was living at the time. It’s funny because normally men from India are pretty misogynistic and treat women like servants. My dad moved heaven and earth to be with my mom and still treats her like a queen to t…

Ugh this happened recently with one of my neighbors. He walks his dog quite often and we’d run into each other, giving him the perfect opportunity rope me into unwanted conversations. Dude, I don’t give a shit about you. Finally things went too far (he lives with his girlfriend) and I had to tell him to back off and that he’s making me uncomfortable. Now I never leave my apartment without looking out my window to see if he’s there. When I come home from work, I look around before I park to make …

Treat yourself! Order your favorite meal to go from a restaurant, get yourself flowers, buy a sweet treat, take a luxurious bath with fancy bath salts and scrubs. Whatever it is that makes you feel happy and special, do it! You deserve it!

I’ll tell you what I can’t deal with, and that’s a comma splice.

Maybe I’m a bit one-sided on this, but I don’t even understand how rejection from someone you don’t know is even a big deal. Rejection can happen for so many different reasons - she’s dealing with hardship, a family member just passed away, she just got out of a long term relationship and isn’t over her ex yet, etc. I don’t get why guys take it so personally.

Was it a Care Bears toothbrush from his childhood??? Sentimental value for a toothbrush. I can’t.

Thank you so much for taking the time to type all that out. I really appreciate it! And I completely relate. I’m not sure if I’m being too “needy” or whatever, but I feel very similarly like if I’m not in front of his face, it’s like our relationship doesn’t exist. I also had an ex that would get food without me constantly even though he knew we were seeing each other very shortly, and it was like you said, I would never do that and always made sure he had food if we were seeing each other, but …

Ugh so much this. It truly baffles me when a guy won’t at least pay for the first date, especially since it’s usually not some elaborate steak dinner. It’s not about the money. It’s the principle. Like you’d rather never see me again than just pay my $20 of the bill??? Okay, BYE!

These “in the next 1-2 years” plans have probably been in place closer to 5 years, they just lack the ambition to make any of it happen. In the meantime, they’ll use it as a way to lure a woman in on the basis of “he wants to start a farm! So wholesome!!!” Then when she’s in, she’ll be the one doing all the planning and laying the groundwork. Because now it’s both of their “dream”

Unfortunately, anything short of you worshiping them 24/7 is reason enough for them to be offended.

Would you mind explaining that a little bit more? (Not being able to prioritize you and your needs) I feel like I’m going through something a bit similar in my current relationship.

I totally understand that. I was wondering if you were referred to some type of 12 step program when you said amends! If it ever does come, hopefully their sponsor is there so they can at least word it properly and not make you feel guilty in the process!

Speaking from personal experience, they’re not apologizing in hopes to reconcile their wrongdoings. They’re doing it for themselves. They feel guilty, and they want you to take that burden off of them and tell them that they’re a good person. If any of your exes ever come back with an apology, don’t accept it. You don’t owe them anything. Let them wallow in their guilt while you live your carefree life without them!

Literally no one is stopping them from getting therapy or working on their mental health??? They act like there’s a mean woman at the door who won’t let them in to their therapist’s office.

I don’t think the meme was saying that, in my opinion. My take on it is that the woman knows that judging someone based on their understanding of grammar is a poor way to infer someone’s intelligence, and she was kicking herself for being turned off by that. I love grammar and the English language because I’m an avid reader and a writer, but I find that grammar is used as a tool to discriminate others. A white man in power can certainly make a multitude of grammatical errors in his emails, but a…

Grammar has nothing to do with being intelligent and it is in no way a mark of intelligence. As you’ve pointed out, people from all walks of life will butcher the proper usage of grammar. Developing a broad understanding of grammar comes from lots of reading and writing, which of course are very important, but not doing these things doesn’t make you stupid. There’s lots of different ways people can be intelligent. Not everyone from lower economic backgrounds have access to a wide variety of book…

She’s absolutely correct here. Everything isn’t in such extremes that either every boy wasn’t paying attention or they came from an impoverished background. The majority of dumbass men we encounter are just too lackadaisical to use proper grammar. It’s not like they don’t know it. I live in a city with one of the worst school districts in the entire country that is also underfunded and understaffed. There are students that make it to high school without learning how to read or write, and the maj…

The proper reaction to me would be him enthusiastic about the idea of getting married, but having an adult conversation about wanting to save up for it and working out a timeline. The enthusiasm should always be there. He should be jumping for joy at the idea of marrying you.

It’s so funny. Two of the most well groomed and fashion-forward guys I’ve dated have been thought to be gay by their friends. They certainly weren’t. They just were super hygienic and gave a fuck about they way they presented themselves.

Completely agree! I think it’s honestly impossible for almost anyone to not be attractive as long as they’re putting in effort - being well groomed, working out, dressing well, smelling nice, etc. Most men that complain about being “ugly” don’t put the effort in to be more attractive.

Same here! That’s exactly how my last relationship was. I love long, deep conversations when you never run out of things to talk about, and I could never do that with my last partner. He was more reserved and quiet, so I didn’t think much of it. But one time we went to a concert together and I ran into this guy that was super mean to me when I was in middle school and we gave some awkward hellos to each other. My ex asked me who he was, and I said that was my childhood bully. His response was ba…

If he doesn’t act like the luckiest man alive to be with you. Lukewarm feelings from your partner will be the death of your soul. He should act like you’re the most beautiful goddess he’s ever come across. There’s nothing worse than a guy that thinks he’s god’s gift to earth and YOU’RE the lucky one to have his attention.

“Is fine with not diving deep into your personal life” This one so much! It’s so weird when you date someone that has no interest in asking you deeper questions or wanting to learn everything about you.

Lol yes I love that show! He originally made the video for College Humor and I remember at the end of it, he said something like it’s still not going to get you out of buying one. And the woman in the video was like, “sorry I still want that rock” Like same girl!

I was listening to this podcast with an adult actress. She credits her financial success and freedom to porn, but she said, "Not every girl with a bad childhood does porn, but every girl that does porn had a bad childhood." That really stood out to me.

Thank you so much I really appreciate that! I don't mean to bitch and complain. I'm very fortunate and I still have my job and I have plenty of blessings in my life at the moment. Definitely need to work on establishing a routine. I have none at the moment besides getting work done as I can for my job. & same here I'm an introvert and thought this would be much easier for me than it has been!

Oh yeah it's 100% getting to me. There are only so many distracting activities I can do in one day. It was nice to get a break from going to my office every day at first, because I was so exhausted and really needed a break. But now I'm 100% over it. My main thing is that I've struggled with my mental health for a very long time, and just last year I made a lot of positive changes in my life. I started going to therapy and got on meds. For the first time in forever I didn't feel depressed! But n…
