All of these have worked for me at one point or another. "Wanna see a full moon?" (Only do on powder days. Works best if you know where a little jump exists so that you can do this. A 'Full Moon' in snow-hound terminology is when you ski into a bank of powder and intentionally throw yourself into it in a position that shows off your butt in some way. Great for getting a laugh.) "So, how long have you been skiing?" (Works great if you're an experienced skiier and willing to teach, and they're obv…

It's those prude, protestant roots man. /s But in all seriousness, just sounds like you need to tweak your approach a bit. Everyone's different, so just like anyone else, learn what works and what doesn't, and keep practicing.

I'll second motel and a friends dorm. Might seem awkward to ask, but you'll be surprised how a good friend might react if you just spring it on him. Something like, "Dude, this girl wants to hook up with me but I don't have a place to take her, can I borrow your room while you're in class? Please bro, you'd be doing me a solid." So you'll have to pay back the favor later but... If it's worth it, what can ya do?

Well, I'll tell you how I got over it, but fair warning, it's (probably) totally not helpful. I'd kicked around on seddit as a lurker for so long and tried to apply the methods and mentalities from here that I just kinda... Forgot to be nervous or scared at some point. I'm not even sure when it happened, it just did. I think part of it was that I accepted that I was going to be nervous at first, and to just... Be nervous. I didn't see any sense in trying to pretend to be smoother than I was. I j…

Honestly, it's just not worth the hassle. Why deal with the stress when you can just find a single woman who's probably got a better sense of morality anyway? Because you love her? Should've jumped on the chance sooner then. Besides, if you love her, should love her enough to respect her choices and not engage in the stealing in the first place, putting more stress on her, and you while you're at it. If she comes on to you? Well then, it's really not stealing, is it? But then there's that whole …

Socially, I'm completely incompetent, so I'm not confident, so I have to blindly believe other people, so I never practice, so I'm incompetent and so on...it's a vicious circle I'm not quite sure yet how to break out of... Practice. Practice practice practice. Just gotta get out there and do it. Over the past two days, I've been trying to be a bit more conscious of my attitude during the day. This is one of the biggest parts of approaching and talking to women is your attitude. It's one of the b…

Well, nobody's perfect. But hey, take my assessment with a grain of salt. You're in it, not me. Trust your own judgement here, sounds like it serves you pretty well. Only practical advice I have I already gave: Move on. Either she'll get back to you, or she won't. But it sounds to me like you've done your part and shown interest. If it were me, I'd be thinking, "Welp, ball's in your court now."

Okay, so a young man who's attracted to women and wants to talk to them is, by definition, someone who's at risk to harass or assault women? Uhh, I'm sorry, but assuming this guy is average college age, and he's the average college male, he went to college not just to study, but to meet women. It stands to reason that that's a priority for him, and conflicting priorities is something everyone deals with all the time, especially college students who are trying to learn to be forward-thinking abou…

Doesn't sound like straight-up rejection, just sounds like she's a flake. Don't get me wrong, I get that she's waiting for you to lose interest so she doesn't have to feel guilty, but maybe she's genuinely busy. Or she's just a flake. If you aren't that into her anyway, I'd say just move on. Forget about it, and maybe she'll try to re-initiate. Either way, better use of your time if she's not biting to move forward.

Yep, sounds like you've got the right mind-set and you're moving in a good direction. Keep cultivating that mind set of confidence, and keep pushing your boundaries, and you'll definitely get there my friend. Like others have said, just go out there and start talking to some women. Get that exposure therapy.

Yea, sorry, I didn't mean to disregard your advice. But discussing my issues back and forth has helped me in the past, so I often do it out of habit, forgetting that not everyone is my therapist and might be annoyed by it... Hey, I get it dude. Believe me, I do. Because I'm the same way, analytical and critical. I'll look at a problem and exhaust it from every angle I can think of, and I find having a sounding board is helpful for that too. And I get how having that very critical and analytical …

Okay... Look, while you definitely raise some good points, I'm not trying to turn this into a debate. You gotta see what you're doing, right? If not, let me clue you in. You're defeating yourself. This is true of most people, man or woman. You are your own worst enemy here. You're telling yourself "This won't work for me," or "This is somehow wrong or disrespectful or would make me feel guilty." So, let's start at the beginning.... If you dislike yourself, then there's one of two reasons... You'…

People here will just tell me that women, in fact, do like being approached by "interesting, charming men" (which doesn't apply to me but still). I mean, there's a lot of practical advice here so far, but I think this is your first problem. You gotta be confident. And not for them, for you. You gotta genuinely be able to look at yourself in the mirror in the morning and say, "Fuck, I'm cool, I'm interesting, I'm attractive... I like me. I'd date me." So, sounds like it's time to pick up a new ho…

When did Seduction go through these changes? I sub'd here... I dunno, ages ago, it's been... Years... Back when I sub'd, while I did see some of the vaguely manipulative side of things here, an awful lot of it was also paired with the general philosophy of, "But also, you gotta be a better you, because that makes it easier to pick up women." So I'm just genuinely curious about when this so-called change occurred, or if you're saying instead that it's leaned more towards that philosophy over time…

That attitude isn't helping anything man. Seriously, if your whole life is a distraction already, then you shouldn't be having this issue. That said, if you're so distracted, then maybe try going the other way with it and find things to focus on. Bunch of small things, a few big things, whatever works. That's real tip number one, whatever you're doing right now that isn't working, stop doing that, and try something else, something new. Maybe you like to take a run in the morning before work? Try…

Well, you're probably right. -But,- if she is down for grabbing a quicky in an alley or the bushes, don't be afraid to push the envelope just a bit. If she's willing to do that, then she's probably comfortable with you ratcheting things up a notch or two. The real trick is not to go overboard with it in the moment, and in the long term, don't get greedy with it. You're still young, you've got a lot of time to have crazy and awesome experiences. Don't be anxious and be willing to take your time i…

Well, doesn't sound like you have good options for "now" beyond what brianbria said; Get creative. Besides, women like creativity and a little bit of risk-taking. Don't forget if you have a car that that's an option too. As for your Dad not liking people over, well... If you score a girlfriend and you decide to go longer term with it, one way to get around that is to bring her home to meet your folks, slowly start getting them used to the idea of her coming over to hang out and like, watch a mov…

Okay, I was gonna be mildly dicky and vaguely pithy and make a post that just said, "Uhh, don't? Sounds like she's kind of a bitch." And then I read this, and you just set off a red-flag for me. Buddy, I've been through too many abusive relationships. Maybe I'm over reacting, but that's warning sign number one right there, that when you have a difference of opinion or when you want your own life but instead she makes you feel like shit rather than being supportive.... Dude, no joke, you need to …

Heh, the only point of my post was to share my experiences and how what I've learned lurking in Seddit has helped me. But that's the point for me, the writer. I didn't have a point for the readers. Whatever you get out of reading it, that's great.

Heh, yeah, does kinda. That has to do with my writing style. Apparently Asperger's patients are good at story-telling. I've been writing all my life, short stories, poems, that kind of thing, so telling a story comes pretty naturally to me, even when its my own. And thanks. She was a gentle giant, a true saint. She lived a long life. Really long. 10 years is average life expectancy for Yellow Labs. She lived nearly 17. And she was well loved for all ~17 of those years. It sucks that she's gone. …

Exactly man. That's part of it for me. It just kinda dawned on me one day, 'bout five years back. Actually, on my 18th birthday. Funny story, I'd gotten in some trouble with the law, and had my arraignment regarding said trouble on that day. And that was the best birthday I've ever had. Because it was new, it was novel, it was fun. I'd screwed up. Me. No one else. It was the day I realized I had control again. And it dawned on me that day, life is meant to be lived. Just being alive isn't enough…

I'mma say, as a Seddit newbie who's been lurking here for ages, and as one who's been skiing on a near-professional level since I was 12... I've never tried this and having heard it, I don't know why. To the people criticizing the OP... I understand why.... But to the OP's response to I_am_the_best_92... He's right, some of us do require the circle-jerk-ish newbie techniques.... I require them... And this is BRILLIANT for me. Especially with the kind of snow we've been getting in my area lately.…

I'm 22, haven't dated, or even come to close to anything remotely resembling trying to date, since I was 18. I ride the local Bus, to the Train, to the Light Rail, and then do that whole process in reverse, twice a week, and it's 3 hours each way, with a 1-hour dance lesson in-between trips. It's been so long, I glance at women, but nothing more, I can't bear it. I'm so starved for normal social contact, especially the kind that isn't forced due to professional obligation, that I've forgotten wh…
