You made a huge blanket statement that “men view us as bottom of the barrel”, as if that’s some sort of universal law. Well I personally do not believe that to be true; regardless of any issues that I or black women have had whole dating, there are a ton of men who are into black women. That is why I said speak for yourself.

I’m not invalidating the experiences of anyone, and I know very well what we go through, but I will never refer to myself as bottom of the barrel.

I think your comment is conflating sex, exclusivity, and emotional investment, whereas I’m only doubting the validity of the ring only principle . I do think you’re right in that it works for different types of people, however. For me personally, I would never get engaged to a man who I haven’t experienced an exclusive relationship with.

I don’t get that logic bc a men who wants to keep it casual is less likely to care that you are not agreeing to an exclusive relationship.

To be honestly, this is an FDS principle that makes little sense to me, and I believe very few reasonable people would accept it.

A lot of Native American tribes were matriarchal. That gives me a bit of hope lol.

To be fair, a lot of those men are interested mainly in women of color. I dont think it’s a respect thing but rather an issue of attraction.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
