He's pointing out that arguably the actual meaning behind the sign is not advocating violence against men, or perpetuating some kind of double standard. Its a joke which, in context, might actually draw more of its effect from a subtle criticism/recognition of the absurdity inoverreacting to rejection to the point of throwing coffee at someone.
